The people who wrote the instructions for my sister's new printer failed to consider that I might be tripping balls while trying to help her set it up.

Met a guy yesterday who looked and sounded exactly like Hank Hill. Made my week. Logged in today and realized yesterday was this accounts sixth birthday. The universe gave me a gift for the occasion.

Finally getting to that age where I realize that I'm becoming my dad. Called some guy at work "old boy" because I couldn't remember his name. If I order any ww2 books just put me down like a dog, man.
Well, I'm a shite GM, but if someone else threw a new one up I'd be on that shit instantly. Also, someone might wanna message Metadude. Or, I can just tag 'em.
”Bahahahaha!” The laughter was deep and very loud. Orrin stood, throwing his head back and practically roaring. The back of his skull brushed against the hard metal of his shield, still suspended from his back. ”Did you see how they fell? Oh, we’re so good!” He was filled with pride, despite the fact that he’d had little to do with the temporary break in the Grimm.
He’d managed to keep almost quiet during most of the class, saying very little and generally managing to escape notice. This was a struggle, but Obi had been wanting to make a good impression, seeing as it was his first day and all. Make friends, and the such. The excitement of battle proved too much, however, and he’d erupted in laughter. He held Tandem aloft, but the girl with the sword and the boar faunus had left little for him to shoot at, for the moment. He doubted the Grimm were done for, though. He saw people starting to work their way toward the life boats, and figured he should follow them. Still giddy from the decimation from the Grimm, Orrin quickly checked the straps keeping the massive slab of metal on his back and then lumbered toward the lifeboats, a dumb smile plastered onto his face.
Weapon: Tesserine “Tessie” Rampart: Tesserine Rampart is a massive, metallic shield. Even in its inactive state, it is almost as tall as Obi. While not as heavy as one might expect, it is still far too heavy to be used as a typical off-handed shield for any useful length of time. The shield’s power comes in its ability to deploy. It extends from the bottom, to match Orrin’s height. It uses powerful hydraulic spikes to anchor itself to whatever surface it’s placed on. Tessie has a slot, specially designed for Tandem, but that can be used for any ranged weapon of a reasonable size and shape. The shield, in its inactive form, can be somewhat comfortably be carried on the back.
Tandem: Tandem is a fairly compact, bullpup rifle/shotgun combo. It has two barrels, stacked vertically, that can be manually rotated to switch between rifle-mode and shotgun-mode. Ammunition is loaded in the rear of the gun, and it loads two clips at once, side by side. One clip contains shotgun shells, the other contains rifle bullets. In rifle mode, the gun can be fired semi-automatically or fully-automatically. The shotgun can only be fired semi-automatically. Should melee combat be necessary, the inactive barrel can be disengaged from the weapon, at which point several spikes spring out from it. It can then be wielded like a club. Tandem is compatible with dust ammunition. While the barrel-club cannot be directly charged with dust, if dust ammunition was recently fired through it, it will retain the dust effects for a strike or two.
Specialty: Tanky-Gunslinging Obi likes to hunker down behind cover and draw attention, whether behind his shield or not. His specialty is using his rifle to take down weaker targets before they can even approach, and whittling down stronger targets before they get close so that they can be dispatched using Tandem’s shotgun mode. Though he can use his barrel-club to fend off opponents who get way too close for comfort, he’d prefer to handle it before it got to that point.
Semblance: Bolster Obi can boost the shielding capabilities of a subject’s aura, and how quickly they recover their aura, as well as ease and increase their resistance to pain. Bolster also has a calming effect, though how calming varies from person to person, and depends on their individual temperaments and personalities. Though Bolster can act as a painkiller, it does not actually do any healing. The semblance is cast once, and lasts for twenty minutes assuming that the subject’s aura undergoes minimal stress. If the subject is under significant attack, the effect may only last a minute or two. The boost to the strength of a subject’s aura does not make them invulnerable, and it can be overcome by significant damage. If a subject’s aura is broken, by any means, the effect is instantly dispelled. Obi cannot bolster himself.
Personality: Obi is good for a laugh, bombastic, and friendly. He can be clueless and forgetful, but he generally means well. He’s never had cause to seriously dislike anyone, and is ever-open and trusting. He’s an optimist, and faces the dangers of his chosen career with a “well, it could never happen to me,” attitude. Of course, then he does everything in his power to make sure that it doesn’t happen to him, or his teammates. Because the only thing worse than someone getting hurt, is someone getting hurt and it being his fault.
Color: Verdigris
Emblem: A verdigris, traditional-looking kite shield, with crossed rifles behind it. All on a light grey background.
Appearance: Obi is fairly tall, standing at 5’ 11”, but of surprisingly slight build, considering the weight of his shield, weighing in at 180 lbs. Years of lugging Tessie around have given him a muscular build. He has less-than-stellar posture, and often slouches when not carrying his shield.
His facial features are sharp and angular, excluding his pale green eyes, which are wide to the point of apparent, perpetual surprise, when compared to the rest of his face. His hair is light brown, kept to a fairly moderate length, and always combed back away from his forehead.
Fast Facts:
-Orrin’s common nickname, “Obi,” comes from the phonetic pronunciation of his initials. O, B. OB. Obi.
-Orrin is constantly hungry.
-Orrin can mean either “Dark-haired” or “little pale, green one” in Old Irish.
-Braith can mean “speckled.” More of a pattern than a color, but I tried.
I'm a friend of @NarayanK. I've been hearing about Heroes of Beacon forever, and now that there's some open spots, I figured I'd check out what all the noise is about.
