Blink ran out of the medic tent, back into the crowd. "Maman! Where did you go?" He called over and over, zigzagging through the swarm of people that towered over him, looking for the snake.
He found no sign of anyone familiar, which frustrated him immensely. He stomped his foot angrily, storming on deeper into the sea of circus spectators.
"Where could they all have gone?" He said to himself, shoving past person after person. He checked inside every tent before finally coming to a stop in front of D. Ark's private tent, sinking to his knees to catch his breath. All that running around had made his busted rib sore again, which was definitely not good. It still wasn't as bad as if was before, though.
He kept his eyes on the people that scurried back and forth from tent to tent, feeling isolated and panicky. He hated being alone. He wasn't afraid of strangers by any stretch of the imagination, but he much preferred being in the company of familiar sorts.
