My characters
Name: Adelaide Beaumont
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Nomadic or sedentary: She tends to makes temporary settlements, leaving when considered unsafe to inhabit.
Weapons: A hunting rifle, a wooden bow and quiver of arrows, and a dagger.
Skills: Adelaide has very good aim when it comes to a gun or bow but can resort to hand-to-hand combat if needed so. She is good at climbing trees and can often find ways to climb buildings. Her stamina is very good and she can run for long periods of time at a higher than average speed but her speed isn't her best attribute. She is able to swim as well but she's not amazing. She can read and write decently. Other than that, she has basic knowledge with medicine but usually ends up using first aid kits.
Any unusual traits? Does it show physically?: She has quite an unusual amount of strength for a woman, maybe a tad more than the average man. However, it does not seem to show physically.
Appearance: Adelaide is a tall girl at around 5'7", with long, wavy dark-brown hair that she usually pulls back into a messy ponytail. She has a fit body that's getting to be a little too thin with olive-colored skin. Her eyes are hazel with long lashes. She tends to wear a black leather jacket that she's fond of.
Brief Personality: Adelaide's got a quick tongue with a sarcastic reply to everything. Although a kind and warm-hearted girl, she's very hot-tempered and also very stubborn. It's hard to change her mind once she's set on something. Her mind works quickly and she's not someone to plan out things. Adelaide prefers to make up things as she goes and makes rash decisions. Nonetheless she is intelligent even though her impulsive reaction doesn't always serve her well. She is very brave and will do just about anything if someone she cares about is in danger.
Background: When Adelaide's mother was pregnant with her, she and her husband knew they'd never get to give her the life they had wanted for her. However, the most they could do was give her a chance. They went to risky measures to get her into a secret safe zone down South. Very few people were admitted into that zone and both parents were refused. She was taken in by an older couple who raised her in a gated community until one day they publicly questioned the morals of the way things were handled inside the community and were killed for doing so. Adelaide objected so to say and instead of killing her they shunned her out on her own at ten years old and she's been handling herself ever since. She came across a young boy a couple years later and he ended up tagging along with her. (I'm purposely a bit vague. I like to reveal IC). She currently is moving through Tennessee in hopes of finding somewhere to pick up some supplies.

Age: 12
Gender: Male
Nomadic or sedentary: Same as Adelaide
Weapons: A couple of grenades, 9mm pistol, two daggers
Skills: Elijah is an amazing swimmer. He can swim up to speeds men have not seen before and for long
periods of time. He's also handy when it comes to lock-picking and decoding things. Also, he's a bit of a chemist when it comes to creating explosions and things of that sort. Elijah isn't a bad climber either and he's decent when it comes to aiming but he's better at using a knife. He is pretty knowledgeable about plants and animals as well. Surprisingly, he can only read a little but he has trouble sounding out still and does not know how to write.
Any unusual traits? Does it show physically?: He has webbed hands and feet that allow him to easily maneuver through water. Elijah has gills on the sides of his neck that can allow him to go underwater for a longer period of time than most people but they are not big enough to give him enough air for an outrageous amount of time. They open up only underwater and on the surface they close in response to the air.
Appearance: He's a freckle-faced, blue-eyed kid who always seems to have a smile on his face. His hair is brown and his skin is quite fair. For a boy, he is rather in shape. He's often seen wearing hoodies.
Brief Personality: Elijah is a very clever kid who enjoys all things humorous. He takes amusement very easily. He can be on the quiet side at times but he's usually in a good mood and has a positive outlook on most circumstances. He's very knowledgeable about science and street smarts. Elijah's that type of kid that likes to know all the tips and tricks to things. Despite being a young kid, he possibly understands how to survive on his own better than some adults. However his patience and maturity are not quite up to par with an adult.
Background: Adelaide found Elijah when he was around ten years old. He was found sitting on a broken street curb with absolutely no idea how he got there and with large gaps in his memory. He's been traveling with Adelaide ever since and still he's had trouble remembering where he came from.

Chattanooga sounds good! I've never been there so I'll have to do a little research. I'd like to add that there are some settled, small communities around but they are rare such as one would see in the Last of Us for example or how in I am Legend they found that little community at the end.
All above CS are fine. I was thinking we can just all decide where we would want to meet up. I like to start in cities like NYC when it comes to RPGs like these. I'm familiar with the East Coast but let's try to agree on a place where all or some of us could meet up in.
Probably tonight. I'm going to check in on some people who displayed interest in the interest check right now.
