In 2017, the entire world was pulled into nuclear warfare as World War 3 began. One country bombed another and that's all it took for others to retaliate, creating a back and forth nuclear war that managed to destroy most of humanity. It never officially ended due to the massive loss of life.

Twenty years later, the world is a completely different story. It is rare we see the sun anymore. The sky is usually overcast by clouds as dark as charcoal. Temperatures are cooler than they used to be and it's often a struggle to keep warm. It doesn't rain nor snow as much as it used to either. Growing crops is harder than ever with increased UV radiation due to the thinning of the ozone layer and a frost-free growing season for crops shortened by 10 to 40 days, depending on the region. Skin cancer ran rapid during these years. The population of the Earth has dropped to the thousands. Those who didn't die in the bombings died from disease, starvation or perhaps they were killed by each other.

It is a fight for survival. Laws and morals have been long forgotten. Many have resorted to becoming bandits, killing others for everything they own. These bandits sometimes group together and live nomadically, constantly killing anyone else they can find. Those of us who cling on to some idea of morals, we try to stay away from them as much as we can and fend for ourselves. Those that live sedentary lifestyles either live in random, abandoned places or in small, forted communities that often kill those who try to enter on sight usually due to fear of disease or of spies looking to expose their location. Other people aren't the only ones we have to worry about...

Animals have been mutating faster than the world has ever seen before. The exposure to extreme radiation and chemicals has caused for change in their DNA. They are bigger, faster, and definitely more hungry. There have been cases of flying snakes, eight-foot wolves, and even three-foot wasps. Humans have been mutating too, with cases of men with large eyes with the ability to accomplish night vision and of people with teeth as sharp as razors. People are evolving regressively to be less like humans and more like beasts. There are smaller cases of people just getting small mutations such as a change in strength or speed but with each different mutation, it becomes more and more evident that these mutations are becoming completely unpredictable.

With large bandit groups becoming stronger and animals becoming larger, the chances of survival are not in your favor.

Current Gangs

WOLVES:

The wolves are the biggest group so far with over 40 members. Most of them are bandits with full intent to try to take full control of the human population. They are full of wild, unmerciful people for the most part who go around killing and looting. Most are on the youthful side and don't have many memories of a world with laws and mercy. Some say they truly are closer to predators than humans. They take full advantage of the lack of laws and do as they please. They spare very few. Those who are spared are those who show strength, usefulness or an interesting mutation. Those spared must also agree to join or else they will be killed for posing a threat. Sometimes females will be spared for the wrong reasons. Most people who end up in their path don't live to tell the tale and it is often wise to avoid them at all costs.
All wolves wear masks. The alpha wolf is the figurehead who is in full control of the entire pack. The alpha wears a white mask to stand out from the rest. The alpha handpicks 3 beta wolves who take any number of subordinates to follow him or her to an area in the country to go out to kill and loot off others as well as to recruit strong members. The alpha wolf's identity and location is unknown to non-wolves but it is rumored they have a stronghold in an abandoned mansion somewhere. The wolves have been lurking in the north-eastern part of the country for the past few months with kill counts reaching an all time high. They're often seen with jeeps.

ROLES:

Alpha Wolf: Perenelle Walker

Beta Wolves:
1. Xander Phillips
2. Willow Brown
3. Kaiden Avila

Subordinates:
Asher Philips, Cameron Brown, Evelyn,

HUNTERS:

It is also not recommended to cross anyone who claims they belong to the gang that goes by Hunters. They're quite determined to become larger and stronger than the wolves and have just appeared in the last year, murderously killing anyone with guns or food to start a giant supply of weaponry and food. Much is unknown to the public since they are relatively new but it is rumored they have working technology that no one else has. The current hierarchy and their stronghold are both relatively unknown but it is assumed there is a leader. They're estimated to be about half the size of the wolves at this point. However, they cross lines that even the wolves won't cross, including having a personal brothel. They have no limits and have been rumored to be even more insane than the wolves.

__________________________________________________________________________

Louis couldn't believe she was spitting at him. She was clearly outnumbered, in a place where she clearly had the disadvantage and she was getting her ass beat. Nevertheless, she proceeded to spit and then remark,"Tough guys aren't you, torturing an immobilized girl? What a bunch of cowards you are." He gritted his teeth. He had taken her here out of anger but he did want to see what he was dealing with. She was going to be an ass to break. She was clearly no stranger to this situation and was still able to fight back with words if she couldn't with fists.

"If I'm so annoying, why are you still bothering me? You want to teach me to be afraid of you, huh? All I have to do is look at your ugly face and a piece of me dies inside. I bet your mother abandoned you the moment you came out of the womb. This bitch either had a death wish or she just had no ounce of self control. Part of him wanted to kill her here and now. She was so annoying. Most girls begged for their life or stayed quiet, knowing better than to talk back to someone attacking them.

"You little bitch."Louis snarled, "Just who do you think you are?" He kicked her hard over and over, enraged. Lindon caught his wrist suddenly, "Louis.." He wondered why the hell Lindon was interrupting him but it was made clear when he noticed the random sticks and leaves slamming into his body as the wind rapidly picked up at an unnatural pace.

The sky above was becoming the color of charcoal. She really could control the weather then. He glanced back down at her, "You don't wanna try me, Shay."he said darkly, "You see it's not just you I can hurt." He crouched down and touched her cheek with a crazed grin. Threatening her and attacking her was just edging this girl on. He had to take a different approach. "I know the dorm room numbers of all your friends. I know little Rosaline Gale is your room mate and best friend. I know Alexander is your boyfriend and you're quite good friends with Jason and Harry is a childhood friends of yours. Alcina is another close friend who helps you with your schoolwork. Ariana her sister... Garrett your adoptive father. I know you get in a lot of trouble at school often and you like to wear plaid. I know more about you, your life and everyone you care about than you think Shay. Consider everyone you love doomed-"

A female voice cut him off. "Another one of your obsessions huh?" The tall and thin girl with shoulder length, wavy blonde hair was sitting on a nearby log, painting her nails with precision despite the wind. "It's almost sad really. Lacking so much love in your life that you go and pick up chicks at the local high school and take them to the forest to beat them. " She laughed at Louis's expression, "Aw. Hit a sensitive note didn't I, big guy?"

Lindon straightened up and glared at her. "Fuck off Skylar. She wasn't giving Louis respect. We're gonna run the place soon and this bitch might end up with us or dead. Either way they gotta respect us."

"Damien's not going to be happy, Lindon."She said with an eye-roll. "He doesn't want them here without his permission. Especially her. Get off your high horse. No one owes you two losers respect."

"I didn't take you for a rule follower."Louis retorted, "Since when were you a goody goody?"

"Oh no worries. I'm not." She said with a wink. She tilted her head a bit. Lindon narrowed his brows, stumbling suddenly. He collapsed into the grass on his elbows, suddenly exhausted. He groaned, trying to get up but his attempt only resulted in him laying down.

"You bitch. You know we're not supposed to attack each other-"He began to sneer.

"Told you I'm not a rule follower." She mused smugly, closing the tube of her red nail polish and setting it down. She raised her arms forward, letting the wind blow at her nails, smiling. "You know Shay, I was really worried that these would take too long to dry but here you are coming in clutch."

"I'm going to rip off those fucking whore nails-"Louis growled, leaving Shay's side and going toward Skylar. He didn't understand what had gotten into this bitch. She never intervened nor cared before if superior brought in people. She had a lot of nerve screwing with him right now.

He knew deep down she was right. No one was going to really ever love him but he was okay with that. He didn't want deep connections to others either. Being in the superior meant freedom. They could all do what they wanted. No more school, no more work, no more being a game piece in the government's order. He hated the idea of just being raised up to work a mundane job and keep the world running for the sake of everyone else. He was doing things for himself in this life. Being a superior also meant you and anyone around can get caught or killed at any moment. There was no room for love. It would only hurt you.

But then he saw Shay and everything had changed. She was so beautiful and so strong. If he could make her be the way he wanted and make her love him, he wouldn't have to be alone like everyone else was. Of course she wouldn't love a killer unless forced to. He had to just break her down until she was so vulnerable he could sculpt her into someone who could love a murderer.

This was something Louis thought Skylar would understand. She had been pulled into this lifestyle and killed people herself. Surely she didn't think anyone sane would want to be with her either. She'd have to understand what he was trying to do right?

Then it clicked in. She was Alex's sister after all. Why wouldn't she look out for his girlfriend? He stopped before her, an evil smirk crossing his lips. "So that's how it is. You put your old family before the superior. Oh they could kill you if they found out what you're-"

"Silence."

Damien's voice boomed as he rapidly approached. He stood before them in a long black jacket, his dark hair neat and his blue eyes glaring right into Louis. "What is she doing here, Louis?"He had yet to gaze upon Shay. "You know we had other plans tonight and I don't need her messing them up."

He rolled his eyes, "She won't. I was gonna put her back after I teached her a lesson. She's a rude bitch."

"You kidnapped her."Skylar pointed out dryly.

Louis glared at her, "Shut up already! I just told you why I did!"

Damien rubbed his head, "Louis. Bring her back without anyone seeing you. "

"She's attacking us ! Can't you see the wind and storm shit?"Louis cried, "She's not afraid of us! Isn't that an issue?"

"Oh? This little breeze?"Damien referred to her wind condescendingly and grinned at Shay, finally looking at her. "Oh that won't be an issue at all Louis. I have a feeling she recognizes me and now knows exactly what she's dealing with. " Louis opened his mouth to reply to that and ended up just closing it without a sound. Damien glanced at him sideways before moving toward Shay and taking her chin in his hand. "You are your father's daughter. Stubborn and fearless with eyes as grey as the clouds you control. Unfortunately that will be the downfall of you both." He roughly let go. "Put her back before I kill her."

"Fine."Louis said lamely. "Stop using your power Shay and I'll take you back to the school." He'd take her back in the forest and give her an even better beating to make sure she was terrified if she wasn't already. He didn't give a shit what Damien said. He immobilized her to make sure she didn't run off.

Violet's Story

1

The collective noise of all the students in the hallway sounded like the loud and obnoxious hum of a machine. With so many people talking at once, it was impossible to even pick out a word. With so many people, it was also difficult to pick out a single individual. These two ideas fueled sixteen-year-old Violet's mind and aided in her resolve to stay invisible. She preferred to act as the background character in the story that was high school. Drama, love, popularity... She wanted none of it at the time.

The hallways were drab with discolored white walls and grey tile floors to match the dull grey lockers that spanned the walls. The teachers had their hand in contributing some fun little posters but besides those, the school looked as if it had been designed by a severely depressed artist who expressed the lack of color in his paintings. Violet didn't mind so much. In her little black, peter pan collared dress and simple low-pigtails, she blended in as part of the dull surroundings. However, unknowing to her, she had a very pretty face that sometimes drew attention. People knew who she was in the back of their minds. The doll-faced girl who always dressed like she was attending a funeral and never spoke a word to anyone besides to a few outcasts.

No one made any move to talk to her either. She had a bit of a reputation for being some creepy kid that does witchcraft in the attic at night. It didn't help that she was the one who sent around the rumors and often encouraged them by smiling creepily whenever she heard people talking about it. However, this wasn't to say Violet had no friends and spoke to no one at all. She moved quickly into the lunchroom and out of the hallway she had been striding down and took her place at the infamous "geek" table.

There was Jade, Adam, and Beck. Jade had straight blonde hair that crept past her shoulders and tickled her chest. Her brown eyes were always framed by her glasses and she seemed to have a likening for overalls and floral tops. She loved cats more than anyone Violet had ever met and was the token music dork with her passion for the cello. Out of the four of them, she probably was the most talkative but unfortunately she was a little too quirky for most people.

Adam was a video game enthusiast with black messy hair, dark eyes and very pale skin. He was a little on the thin side compared to the jocks and absolutely hated sports. He was super smart and loved computers as much as Violet did. Beck was a fellow computer nerd with short, curly hair, dark skin and dark eyes. He had awful fashion sense for a gay guy but was actually pretty fit. The other three liked to joke about how he went against every stereotype. Beck had a pizza in one hand and the other over the a computer mouse as he hunched over his laptop, trying to figure out his website coding. Adam was standing beside him, leaning on the table as he tried to help figure it out as well.

Jade sat across from them. She was doodling in a notebook covered in cat stickers. It was a Lisa Frank notebook of course, exploding with outrageous colors and unicorns. She was very talented actually, so engrossed in her work she had forgotten to start eating her lunch. Her earphones were in and she was probably entranced by some classical music.

"So."Violet began, "I have a few gifts." Beck and Adam both looked up at the sound of her voice while Jade seemed to have not heard a thing.

Adam tossed a grape at her head, to which she overreacted of course, "Heads up."
Jade nearly fell out of her chair, struggling to pull her earphones out, "Huh!?" She looked around wildly, inquiring, "Did I get spit-balled again?"

"It was a grape, Jade. Violet's got something to say."Adam said lamely. Sometimes the kid acted like he was stuck in a never-ending cycles of Monday mornings.

Violet cleared her throat after suppressing a giggle. "I was saying that I come with gifts." She set her backpack down and took out three decent-sized gift bags. "I didn't get to see you guys Christmas so."

"Violet you're going to marry me right?"Beck said to her, grinning. "You're the best."

"Marry the straightest gay guy there is?"Violet teased, "How can I refuse such a cutie?"

"I got gifts for you too!! Thank you Violet oh my gosh!"Jade ran over and practically tackle-hugged her. She let go of her when she recalled Violet hated being squeezed to death. "I gave the other two theirs earlier. "

Violet smiled at her and wiggled her finger back and forth. "No Jade. Me first." She said smoothly and then began handing each of them their bags.

Beck took out his bag to reveal a sports video games and new shirt.
"This isn't even out yet?"He said in confusion, to which she only winked in reply. He grinned at her and hugged her. "Our very own little magic hacker."

Adam took out a handful of comics, nodding in approval while Jade was clearly fan-girling over an anime DVD and stuffed animal. After she seemed to have calm down over it, she handed Violet a wrapped present. Before she could even open it, the voices of a few jocks passing made them look up.

"I could smell their stench from a mile away."Beck sighed, making Jade giggle. "Here comes possible abuse. Vee, quick, do a spell on them." He glanced over at her but she hadn't seemed to hear him. Her gaze was fixated. The other two noticed and followed her gaze.

The brown-haired boy with the hazel eyes had his gaze fixated on Violet as well. There were about four guys in sports jerseys and letter man jackets and the auburn-haired was the fifth. He was wearing a flannel over a black shirt.

"Landon."Violet said quietly to them. "He was my brother's friend."

"Ah, so he's younger than us then."Jade said with disappointment etched in her tone. She leaned her head in her hands, smiling, "He's absolutely gorgeous."

"Gonna have to agree. His eyes are enchanting."Beck agreed, staring as well. "I'd eat dirt off his back."

"He's a bit older than me by a few months actually." Violet told them, looking away finally to look at the two. "He used to train my brother in soccer. I was pretty close to him actually but then he moved away two years ago."

"He's. Coming. Over. Here."Jade emphasized each word with increasing panic. She moved towards Adam and hid behind him practically. He gave her a look almost immediately.

Adam groaned in annoyance when he stole a glance over at them and grumbled,"And he's bringing the others."

"Well this should be entertaining."Beck mused.

"Violet." Landon had stopped to stand in front of the table. He had been staring at her in awe. She was going to think he was some loser now if he just stood there like an idiot. He did a quick scope of the table then glanced over his shoulder at the others. He had almost forgotten they were there.

Violet didn't know what to think at the moment. At one point in time, the two had been inseparable. They had spent every moment together. She was happy to see him but it had been so long and they were such different people who clearly hung out with different crowds. Speaking of which, the other guys seemed a bit pissed to have to associate with the geek table. She could dimly hear them making jokes about Beck being a fag. Her heart was beating fast and she felt so nervous all of the sudden. She had known the guy so well but it felt like they were first meeting all over again.

"Landon,"She replied quietly. "Nice to see you."

His attitude had changed after looking at the others. She wondered if he wanted to look cool in front of his new friends or something. "That's all you got for me after all this time?"He grinned at her, leaning on the table suddenly. Adam was glaring at him now.

"I didn't know there was a standard of enthusiasm required." Adam snapped. "She said nice to see you, what more do you want?" He was such a hot head but she knew he and Beck both got overprotective of her sometimes.

"I want a shrine and a red carpet awaiting my arrival for the next time, please and thank you."Landon told him with a laugh, "Just joking buddy, chill out."

"Don't call me buddy."Adam growled, folding his arms. Jade had her eyes downcast nervously next to him.

"Landon, I know you haven't been here in a while but these kids are freaks. Clearly. " A guy murmured in his ear. "What are you doing? The little one with the long hair is a creep."

Landon seemed to think it over a moment and shook his head. "I've known Violet for a long time and she's no creep. " Violet felt a smile tug at her lips. It quickly fell as he continued, "The other three are fucking losers. I mean the girl's using kid's school supplies."The guys burst into laughter,"Then this loser's got anger issues-"

"I'll show you anger issues."Adam snapped furiously, looking ready to start growling like a lion. He had stood up out of his seat, making the chair squeak against the floor noisily. People were staring now, anticipating a fight. Beck was even glaring too now as he rubbed Jade's shoulder.

Violet glanced over at Jade. Her eyes were watering and she was avoiding eye contact. What was wrong with him? He had been so nice. Jesse would have never befriended anyone like this. She wondered if he knew what an asshole he was now. She felt anger fill her and she turned to glare at Landon."Get your ass out of here and take your idiots with you."

They made multiple sounds that were typical of teenage boys seeing something dramatic happen. Landon stared at her with hurt for a millisecond then glared back at her, "And put it where? Your mouth?" He retorted.

"Sorry. I'm allergic to crabs."Violet stated calmly, rolling her eyes. Another annoying reaction from the peanut gallery followed.

"Wow. Kitty's got claws doesn't she?"Landon said and shook his head, "Whatever Violet. Let's go guys." The other guys high-fived him as they all began walking away, becoming background noise once again.

Landon hadn't stopped looking over his shoulder at Violet.

2

It was the very same day Violet had been standing at her locker, putting her books away when Landon yet again made an appearance. She shut her locker slowly and silently before slinging her small black backpack over her shoulder. All she had wanted to do was go home and sleep but then something caught her attention. Landon was across the hall with the same group of boys. The same annoyance that had filled her earlier was back again.

He hadn't seem to notice her yet. She waited a moment or two until the guys had left. As Landon was opening his locker, she found herself storming over without a second thought. "What was that about earlier?" She demanded.

He gave her a coy smile as he looked down at her, "What was what?"
She furrowed her brows, glaring silently in reply.

His body shook with a chuckle as he shut the locker. "If looks could kill."He mused, turning to look down at her.

"I thought we were friends."Violet said finally, her expression saddening a bit. "I mean... We spent every waking moment together. "

He softened as well for a moment, averting his gaze. "Things changed. I changed."He turned away from her, adjusting his grip on his bag. The hallway was getting emptier and emptier by the moment as people departed. "You'll have to get over it."

"No one has a complete 360 of personality in that short amount of time. What could possibly have happened for you to go from the nicest guy I've ever met and one of my best friends to joining the dickhead club." Violet argued. She was shocked by the tears brimming in her eyes and the way her hands were shaking. She hadn't expected to get worked up over him. They hadn't seen each other in years. "You said you would always look out for me remember?"

"Violet. Shut up. "Landon sighed. He gently tried to wipe her eyes but she stepped backward. "This is me looking out for you okay? I want you to listen to me... Stay the hell away from me. " He was staring her straight in the eyes, stating everything with all seriousness. "I don't want anything to do with you." As if the further explanation was even needed.

"So that's what this is about."Violet muttered softly, after a pause. "You want to be seen only with people high on the social hierarchy. If that's the case then-"

"That is the case."Landon cut her off insistently. "Now get away from me."

Violet hugged herself and turned away from him. She walked hastily down the hallway toward the exit without another word.

3

Watching her walk away had been one of the hardest things Landon had ever done and he had been through a lot of difficult scenarios lately. He let his gaze fall to the ground as he leaned against the locker. There were so many things he wished he could make her understand so he didn't have to hurt her like this. She was one of the only people left in his life that he really cared about.

Because he cared about her, she couldn't be involved in his life. This was the way things were now. The one thing that surprised him had been her tears. He really hadn't expected her to care about him after all this time. He thought he had been alone in that. Hopefully, she'd get over it. It wasn't like he was anyone special anyway. His fate was sealed at this point.

As for him, he would never get over it. He'd have given anything to be at her side but there was nothing left for him to give up but her.

I'll always look after you, Violet. He thought to himself. He had vowed that to her two years ago. His father had been the soccer coach for the middle schoolers and he had sometimes came to practice to help out. Jesse and him had clicked and the kid had needed a little extra help so Landon had tutored him. Violet and his mother had came to pick him up.

At the time, he had been a cold fourteen year boy who had just lost his mother in a car accident. The moment he saw Violet's face, it made him feel the ice had immediately started melting off his heart. He remembered it like it was yesterday. The beautiful young girl in the over-sized knit sweater and the sweet doe eyes. Her thick hair had surrounded her petite body delicately. His knees had practically unbuckled but of course he kept his cool around the girl when she approached him and thanked him for helping Jesse.

He had been a bit standoffish back then. His hair was a bit longer than the average guy and he had came off as very intimidating. He had treated her with the same personality as he had everyone but she never relented her kindness. She had asked him to hang out after practice after a few times they spoke and he couldn't find it in him to refuse. By the end of the year, the two were as thick as thieves. They had been best friends and knew everything about each other.

Maybe he had been too young to understand what love was, but he knew now that he had loved her with all his heart. He had told her he'd do anything for her and meant it.

Staring down the hallway, Landon kept clutching the locker door. The school was empty now and it was just him.

4

"Violet you can't seriously think we're gonna let you sit alone."

Jade plopped down beside Violet in the back of the bus with a warm smile. Violet slowly picked her head up. She had been leaning it on the window quietly, her hair shadowing her face. Jade was sitting beside her, smiling with her kitty-cat back clutched in her hands. They both looked up as Beck boarded the bus, waving to them. He made his way over to them and gently squeezed in, gently moving Violet into the middle.

He put his arm around her comfortingly, telling her with a smirk. "You know I love the window seat. " Violet felt a smile tugging at her lips despite her overwhelming bad mood. The three of them had that effect on people. Adam joined soon after, sitting beside Jade. There was a stretch of seats across the whole back of the bus so they always all fit.

"So. We all heard what happened." Adam admitted quietly. "We were looking for you since you always meet up with us outside by then and we wondered what the hold up was. Then we ended up eavesdropping."

"Adam!"Jade cried, "Now she's gonna be mad!"
Violet quickly shook her head in reply to that. "I'm not mad." She had thought she had seen some blonde strands coming out from behind a set of lockers earlier and was not the least surprised.

"You know, he's stupid. You're clearly the queen of the school what the heck does he think he's talking about?"Jade angrily went on,"Tomorrow I'm going to walk right up to him and I'm gonna tell him what I really think."

"What are you going to say, Jade?"Adam asked lamely, not even glancing her way.

"I'm gonna tell him he's stupid and Violet is not."Jade replied proudly, smiling.

"Hashtag roasted."Beck snickered while Adam shook his head in disbelief. "Jade is my icon."

Violet started giggling, which made the three of them turn to look at her in surprise. "I'm sorry... I just love you guys." She leaned on Beck's shoulder as she stopped her giggling, her smile fading.

"Aw we love you too."Jade told her, squeezing her hand. She glanced over at Adam.

Adam didn't move to comfort her. Instead he looked at her and said, "I think he's lying."
Violet tilted her head to look at him as the bus engine roared to life and the bus violently swerved around the curve of the road. "What makes you say that?"

"Bump time!"Jade exclaimed excitedly then looked at them, blushing, "Oops sorry I interrupted again didn't I?"

"We're used to you."Adam replied grumpily, "And because it's obvious Violet. You're smart enough to realize this. He looks at you like you're the most important person in the world. I doubt he really cares about being popular. He's hiding something if you ask me."

"Maybe."Violet agreed. She had known the personality he was putting on was so weird but why push her away and bully her friends? What could he be hiding?

That was when the bus screeched to a halt.

5

There was a man standing in the middle of the road. Violet could make out his figure even from the back of the bus. He swiftly moved to the front of the door more fast than Violet thought a human could move. The driver stared at him in confusion through the windows. The man smiled treacherously at the bus driver. The bus driver returned the favor with a glare and reached for a phone. He chuckled lightly and kicked one leg forward. The left door broke off as if it were as light as paper. He walked into the bus through that opening. The eyes of teens turned to him, as he walked down the little hall of the bus. Some whispered and snickered while others were wise enough to keep their mouth shut.

He was very pale and had a frightening malicious smile. His eyes were glowing red and his arms had multiple tattoos. Violet had begun to assume she had drifted off to sleep at this point. There was no way this was real. Perhaps some psycho just had some weird contacts in. "Where is Landon Delano? "He asked them all plainly. After a moment of silence, the broad man continued."Don't make me ask again..."His voice became a snarl quite suddenly, awaking any person who may not have been paying full attention. Pointed teeth jutted out from his upper gums.

"Is that Robert Domingo?"Jade made an attempt at whispering this question but it ended up being quite audible for the entire bus. Heads turned toward her voice in confusion.

"Nah Robert Domingo's asian and at tennis practice right now for sure. I'm thinking that's the new exchange student from France." Beck replied casually as Adam put his head in his hands in reaction.

"Oooh! Lovely! Let's ask him to sit with us!"

Jason
_____________________________

Jason had been pacing back and forth when he wasn't sitting down and shaking his leg. He had never felt so anxious and helpless in his life. That was his little sister in the room critically injured. He couldn't believe this happened. How could it? Nothing bad ever happened. It felt like a bad dream. James' hug brought him out of his reverie as well as his voice"Please don't leave me, Jace."

He hugged James back, "I'll never leave you brother." Rubbing his back, he followed his gaze as more doctors went towards the ER. Shay came in clutch, bringing Mcdonalds and other bags. He could always count on her to try to cheer them up. He smiled at her but couldn't bring himself to talk much. He was afraid if he talked too much he would just break down. He hugged her tightly when she came over. "I love you Shay." She was always there for him when he needed it. He never knew how to make it up to her. Once she had leaned into him, he wrapped his arms around her, sitting with her.

Jason glanced a bit over towards Jessamine. Isabelle had went home to check on her siblings and said she'd be coming back with Luke. She was sitting off to the side alone, arms at her sides, head downward. She wouldn't pick her gaze off the ground. He caught a glimpse of her eyes and tensed. Her pupils were dilated in terror and she was clutching the edges of the chair. She looked like she had seen a demon.

Xander had been sitting with her. He had noted it in the back of his mind but hadn't paid much mind to either of them since he had been distracted with Marcy and Hunter. He had now gotten up to stand nearby Shay rather protectively. Jason wondered who Xander was trying to protect them from. He had never seen him act like this.

"That's one crazy bitch."

There was a group of ten hunters inside the silent bar. A good handful remained outside to guard. The other vampires had made haste with leaving as soon as they saw their leader in pieces on the floor. Having been standing at the perfect spot, Will had decided to have a little barbecue and turned on his flame thrower on their backs as they were retreating. "Let's go! Faster! Hut hut!"He didn't have to turn around to know Evan was rolling his eyes.

"She's very lucky to be alive."Violet's voice came from his side. He glanced down and put his arm around the tiny girl with her hair in a thick, low ponytail. He and Phoenix had been training her for four years now and he would probably do anything for her at this point. Though, Will was a bit jealous that she had surpassed them both in some senses. Sometimes he kinda felt like they acted as her parents so he usually ended up being more proud than jealous.

"She's very lucky to have someone like you who can track their location better than the FBI."Will told her with a grin and glanced back down at Angel. She was definitely out for the count, her red hair splattered all over the wood paneled floor. This nonsense didn't make sense to him. Going into a bar overrun by vampires? Last week she had fought an entire gang in an alleyway. This girl had a suicide wish. There was no way she thought she could have really took them all on by herself. On the other hand, she had somehow subdued the entire gang last week to everyone's shock. Nikolaus was known to be insanely skilled but he had no idea he could train someone, especially with a personality like Angel, to be able to handle that many vampires on their own.

"She's my crazy bitch."Evan sighed finally and scooped her up gently in his arms bridal style and glanced at them, "She's badly injured so I'm going to quickly get her to our clinic. Get rid of the body would ya?" He walked out with her rapidly. Evan was always quick to make sure she was okay despite how exasperated he got with her. Will had to hand it to him. He had taken Angel in when she was still a young kid and been taking care of her ever since. He wondered if she was ever even thankful. Most conversations he had with Angel turned as sour as all the lemons she ate. She was always sarcastic and downright rude. To top it off, rumor had it that she had hooked up with half of the guys in their regiment in the last two years. He honestly felt sorry that Nikolaus had to deal with her being that him and Nikolaus had been best friends for years now. God help the man if he tried to bring Angel into their squad.

Holly on the other hand should have been named Angel. She was so polite and kind. On top of that, she listened to everything Phoenix and him said and cooperated constantly. She reminded him so much of his little sister. Violet and Holly were his best friends and he kept fighting every day for their sake along with Phoenix's sake. Phoenix was a different story. He had fallen so head over heels for the woman that he had picked out her engagement ring a long time ago. He had just been waiting for the right time and place. Will was entirely sure he wanted his forever with her. However, he wasn't going to move forward with his life until his little sister Emily was safe and sound again. He had promised protecting her would be his priority and he was doing a shitty job. He owed her this.

"Guess who's subbing for Mr. Hall?"
He came up behind Violet, leaning on her tiny head as he made his inquiry. No answer was given as expected. He craned his neck slightly to look over it at what she was doing. The overachiever was taking notes. She had been tasked with observing Angel and Holly in action. He skimmed over it fast, letting his gaze move down it. She was pretty harsh on them, especially since her and Holly were good friends.

"Hey don't ignore me, nerd."He patted her head annoyingly enough until she stopped writing and looked up at him with narrowed eyes."You should just let Holly pass with flying colors."

Angel
Reluctant to talk to others.
Unfriendly glares.
Now speaking with others.
Upset a student named Fiona Grey
Friendly with Charlotte Goodwin.
Very friendly with Derek Goodwin.
Good interactions
Very possible that the Goodwins are past friends of Angel and Derek a possible love interest.
These interactions with Goodwins will not count toward final decision.

Holly
Very introverted.
Sits alone.
Makes no move to conversate with others.
Frequent bullying target
Though cooperative with hunters, definitely could work on team work skills and learning to be more comfortable with herself.
Self confidence and self esteem could be questionable.

"I can't. If she's not confident enough with herself, it could risk her life later on."Violet replied quietly. "I'm not going to do that. "

Will sighed, relinquishing. She was right, as always. If these bullies were making Holly feel like she was less than valuable, she might second guess herself on the field. Plus, she needed to be learn to be vocal and confident.

"Well. Angel and Holly will both be in my class and I'll do my best to push them a bit. For sure, we're helping Holly feel better. Not just for this but because she's our Holly. Those punkass bullies are going to get their asses kicked if they even utter a word to her in my presence." He beat his fist against his chest confidently. "The little shits have seen their last days."

"You beat up a minor, you go to jail." Violet's low voice reached his ears and he glanced at her.

"Little buzzkill."He grumbled, sitting down next to her with annoyance.

Xander hugged Kate back tightly. He was so grateful to see her safe. She was all he had.

"No, this asshole Micah killed and then turned him on accident." She had moved back to Zane's side now. He moved with them, sitting next to her. "And he saved us from being slaughtered by all these crazy vampires outside but now he won't let us leave. " She was nervous here. He could tell she was anxious as she bounced her leg. However, he was right not to let them leave. It was insane outside. He had never seen so many vampires out in one night. "I'm so pissed that I could rip his throat out."

"Zane i'm sorry man."Xander patted his back and then he looked back at Kate. "Well at least you guys can be together now and it's not as awkward. We might have to stay here especially with a newbie at least until daylight. It's crazy outside and I don't know if we can restrain him or protect him. We can stay here for now until the sun comes up or the rain stops. I promise I'll protect you both."

Angel

Angel hadn't been hugged in so long. She had almost forgotten what it was like to the point she was caught off guard when it happened. She slowly hugged him back, enjoying his warmth. She had forgotten how nice it felt. This was the most selfish thing she had done. What was wrong with her?

"God, I missed you so much. Where have you been? I looked everywhere for you." She had barely heard him talking. She had been so wrapped up in his hug and how much she missed him that she stumbled in confusion when he had let go.

"Yeah... You too. "Angel managed to reply with. She quickly pulled her arms down to her sides, clearing her throat. Where had she been? Oh what a question with a funny answer. Let's just put that one to the side. Easy enough since he moved on from it to his schedule pretty quickly.

"Do you mind if I see your schedule? I can help you find all your classes and everything. Oh my god, this is great. I'm so happy you're back, Angel."

Was this dangerous? Or wasn't she just doing what they asked? She'd probably have to cut him off after this little social experiment anyway. For some reason, that hurt her heart more than she had expected. "I'm really happy too."She said genuinely. This was the happiest she had been in a while. After setting down her backpack and digging through it for her schedule, she handed it to him. "Mr. Hall next."

"Screw that. My priority is you, now."
Those were very dangerous words.
Angel swallowed hard as she followed him to the next class, very unsure about what she was doing here.

The sound of the door swinging open made Rose glance over on instinct. James and Jason stood there looking as shocked as ever. However, it was that stolen glance that royally screwed her over. She got kicked off to the floor and found herself winded. She felt like a cartoon character with little birds dancing around their head. Rose struggled to sit up on her elbows as sudden agony burned through her hip. She screamed in pain almost at the same time James had screamed. She had barely even heard the gunshot so at the moment she couldn't even comprehend the source of the pain. It felt so awful. It hurt more than anything she had ever felt. It was like pain exploding from her hip through her entire torso, which had already been in pain prior, constantly and unforgivingly. She could feel tears burning her eyes and she threw her hands over the wound in agony, as if clutching it would ease any of the pain. A kick to the stomach allowed for another cry to escape her lips as pain yet again jolted through her but she had mostly been silent after her scream. Her ears were ringing painfully now and the scene around her was getting blurry.

"You're mine, Rose."

The voice had dimly reached her ears and brought the terrifying realization that this wasn't over. This was only the beginning. Arms wrapped around her and moved her body, making her yelp like a kicked puppy. Sobbing filled the air and she moved her head to look up at him. "Rose, can you hear me? My love? My girl?" She parted her lips to answer him, clutching her wound still but he continued sobbing. Somehow, watching him sob was more painful than the wound. It tore her apart to see him like this. "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry! You're gonna be okay, I promise. I'm here now, babygirl, he'll never touch you again."

"It's okay. I"m here."Her voice came out hoarse and pained. She had meant to come off as normal to not worry him but it seemed like she had no control of that. It was probably best not to talk anymore. Rose picked up one hand off her wound to touch his cheek and paused in midair. Her hand was drenched in her own blood. The red liquid was dripping down her wrist now. She quickly put it back to her wound.

"What'd you get yourself into now?" Jason's teasing voice reached her. He was kneeling in front of her now and ripping his shirt over his head hastily. "You're alright Rose. Just hold on a little longer." She felt him gently lift her body up in James grasp and begin tying his shirt around her hips. Any movement racked more pain through her body but she didn't vocally announce it.
Everything was slowly dimming now. She tried to glance over to see if anyone was at the light switch but everything went black before she could turn her head fully.

Louis

"I'm glad you like it because you'll be spending a lot of time here."

Some people were looking over but most didn't care. They were used to shenanigans. They were in a large open field in the forest with a huge, abandoned warehouse in it that surprisingly had rooms and nice furniture inside and went underground as well. However, that could not be told from the outside of it.

This group in particular had around eighty people in it. Most were inside at this time of night or doing something crazy. Louis's friend Lindon was sitting out by a tree at the moment. He stood up and came over immediately seeing them. "Dude what are you doing? This is way too soon. You drunk or something?"

Louis shook his head, "Nah she's just such an annoying bitch. I want to teach her a lesson to be afraid of me. You wanna help?" He drove a knife into Shay's arm suddenly, laughing. He was positive the stupid little school girl had never felt any real agony before and this would be a wake up call.

"You crazy fuck."Lindon grinned, shaking his head. "Alright I"m so in."He came over and kicked Shay in the stomach hard. She was immobilized as this point.

Rosaline

__________________________________________________________________________

Rose had never seen anyone laugh like this before. She much rather he would have started belting out a classic "Mwuhahahaha!" like a classic villain. This wasn't just some evil laugh or someone finding something genuinely funny. It was edging on insanity and growing in pitch. She was sure the reason for the laughter was lost early on. He was just laughing because he was crazy at this point. She regretted not bolting to the door during the time he was laughing instead of staring at him in fear. He was wiping his eyes now and it was too late.

"Alright, cinnamon," He was up in her face before she could process it, shoving the gun painfully into her body. Most people knew she was not the biggest of people and her weakness was definitely stronger opponents. A strong blow really dealt her quite some damage. She doubled over, clutching her stomach as sharp pain had racked through it, radiating from the attacked area faster than the attack had been dealt. "You use your power and not only will I kill you in the worst way possible, I will make sure to murder everyone you've ever known or loved. Do you understand me? So be a good girl."

She couldn't manage a reply even if she wanted to. Her stomach was hurting so bad she couldn't focus on anything else. The only thought coursing through her brain at the moment was if she could ask if she could sit a moment. In a way, she got her wish as she was shoved into the bed. Her body bounced painfully on it for a second and she moaned. She threw her arms over her stomach again in reaction to the pain. What the hell was wrong with this guy? This couldn't be real. She had never met someone this insane or been purposely attacked in her life.

As he moved over her, his finally motives became clear to Rose. He wanted her alive to satisfy his lust. The way he was looking down at her made her want to crawl away and hide. She wanted to be back in James arms. She had been stupid not to heed his warning and take him seriously. Now this man would do as he pleased with her and kill her. Rose had never imagined she'd die this horribly.

"Are you going to be good, or do I have to go outside and kill everyone?" He smiled down at her and touched her cheek with his free hand. She shuddered and resisted the urge to punch him. She had to think of everyone else. She couldn't have this guy going around shooting everyone because she was dumb. "Your skin is the softest thing ever. I can't wait to be with you soon, little Rosaline." She again had to resist retaliation by biting her tongue. She wanted to yell the word "ew" louder than she had ever before. Who said things like that? He kept tracing her face with the gun, which kept her heart racing painfully.

Then he made his mistake. She watched him set it down. This was her moment to do something. If he didn't have the gun, he couldn't hurt anyone. Though, he had done something to her head before. Maybe that just meant she had to be quick. By the look on his face, he seemed to think he had control of the situation. She wasn't sure if he was anticipating her trying something. Rose decided she had to gamble on that or risk this guy doing some really weird things.

Aidan had made her make forcefields over and over. It was a thin, colorless, transparent matter. One could tell it was there by the electromagnetic waves coursing through it. She could form it into a wall, stretching as long as her eyes could see but the longer and thicker it was, the more energy it would take out of her. After all, it was not like in superhero movies. The power did not just come out of nowhere. Energy must come from somewhere. She could also curve it into a protective sphere. However, that wasn't what she wanted. She needed to make a half sphere that grew from her and shoved him off her. She concentrated and the shield burst outward at him.

In response to Mortimer being thrown backward, she would proceed to roll over to grab the gun. She didn't really have a plan at this point and her adrenaline was moving her actions. Before she could conceptualize what she was doing, she was slamming the gun into the back of his head over and over with more anger she had ever felt. She had felt so violated by the way he was looking at her and treating her. She was letting it drive her fury and take over her actions.

Jason

"What... What just happened?" Jason rubbed James back as he finally came back to Earth. "You totally freaked and had some sort of flashback."He told him. It didn't seem like he was really listening though. The boy was looking around the room, distractedly. "Rose, where is she? Rose?" He hated seeing James go through this shit. He wanted to kill every superior who had been involved in doing this to him.

He immediately grabbed James arms as he tried to get up and held him up as his knees unbuckled. Jason sa him back down and looked at him as he kept asking. "Where is she? I hope she didn't get mad and leave me. I have to apologize." He was staring at him with more desperation than Jason had ever seen. He really did love Rose with all his heart. "Please tell me she doesn't hate me."

"She left to get you some food."Jason finally told him but realized quickly it had been way too long. He wasn't sure what would delay her this much unless someone had taken her. With James' high profile in the superior, he wouldn't be too surprised. James must had been having similar thoughts since he got up and darted out faster than Jason could react. He quickly got to his feet and followed him.

He halted at James side hearing the all too familiar laugh of Mortimer. Knowing his love for cute little blondes, this was super bad. He looked around the room, hoping to find Rose by the pizza but she was no where to be seen. He took his shoulder as he started yelling at people. "They're not gonna know bud. We gotta follow that laughter." James started tracking them on his phone instead which was probably a decent idea. Once he started sprinting, he followed suit. Jason started to quickly burn a hole in the door by the door knob. He could hear the sound of someone being beat with something. The smacks of an object against a head was all too familiar. He put his arm through the hole and unlocked the door from the other side and then quickly yanked it open to find Rose angrily slamming a gun on Mortimer's head.

Louis

"Why are you so obsessed with me?"
The girl really did like to flatter herself. She was stuck up and clearly stupid to talk back to him. He could wring her little neck in three seconds flat. "Shut up if you know what's good for loverboy." It seemed to be finally sinking in. He watched her irises widen with glee. "Look at these big ol' eyes. So pretty." He touched her cheek, laughing.

"What fucking hole did you crawl out of?" Just as Louis had thought this was going to work out perfectly, fury filled him. Who the hell did she think she was ? He slapped her cheek hard, glaring ferociously. "That's just rude, miss Shay."He snarled, "You don't wanna find out what I do to rude girls."

"What the hell is your name and are you even a minor?" Her sass had to go. It was driving him up the wall. He stopped what she was doing to pull her wrists into the grip of one of his hands and grab her neck by the other. It was easy since his hand was so much bigger than hers. Just when he thought maybe she'd smarten up, she kept going. "You know I couldn't care less; just so I can kick your ass later, you punkass bitch."

Louis burst into laughter, his own eyes widening. "You dumb fucking bitch!"He yelled at her, laughing. "I was just gonna have a little fun with you tonight but you clearly like to dig your own grave don't you? I'm going to show you what happens to girls like you who think they're hot shit." Louis knew it would be no fun if he broke her this early on but he knew he had to give her a good scare and maybe just a taste of torture. He immobilized her and threw her body over his shoulder. He took out his phone and made a few texts before they were teleported out of the dormitory and straight into the heart of the superior camp.

Rosaline

__________________________________________________________________________

"You're coming with me."
A hand had fallen gently on Rose's shoulder. She glanced over it to see James smiling down at her. Rose had not felt alarmed at all since she had guessed by the gentleness that it was a friend and not a foe. He was feeling all better already? Maybe he felt bad about freaking out and was going to surprise her to make up for it. Poor thing had nothing to feel guilty about. "James, you don' have to worry it's oka-"She began as he led her. She broke off mid-sentence when she noticed the empty dorm room. This was odd. Her stomach churned and a bad feeling formed in her gut. As he shut the door and looked at her, he pointed a gun at her.

Rosaline had thought her heart had stopped beating. She had never been in a situation like this. This wasn't a joke and that was a real gun. It was just one of those things everyone thought would never happen to them. It was only the material for movies and sad stories on the news. She swallowed a lump in her throat as the little illusion of James melted away to reveal a different boy. She barely recognized him. He lit off a spark in the back of her memory but it took her a few moments to realize this was one of the boys James had warned her about.

"One wrong move and you're dead, Rose."

Rosaline had heard the line in movies but she was never too clear on what was considered a wrong move so she decided to stay still. This guy clearly had the ability to mess with her mind and the gun was the last thing she had to worry about. She could get through this. She just needed to take him by surprise before he played more mind tricks. Adrenaline was pounding through her body at what felt like the speed of light. She could capture him in a forcefield and run but she wasn't too sure if that would really limit his abilities. It dawned on her she might actually have to hurt him. Funny how someone could be training to defend themselves and use supernatural abilities for all these years and then have no idea what to do in a dangerous situation.

She finally decided on trying to figure out his motives whilst stalling him at the same time. He needed to be be more distracted since Rose had no idea what else he could do. Perhaps he didn't have anything all that offensive since he was using a gun as offense.

"Uh hey there buddy. I'm Rose, I'm fifteen and I really like cinnamon. What's your name?"
Her nervous voice reached her ears and for a moment she wanted him to shoot the gun and put her out of the misery that was her embarrassment. She was such a moron.

Louis

It wasn't hard at all to locate Shay. She was pigging out on pizza just as he thought she would be. He liked a girl with little appetite for food. He decided that was one of the first things he'd change about her to make sure she always looked best for him. The music was blasting in his ears yet he head none of it. He tuned it out as if it was just as easy as clicking an off switch. His gaze was set on her. The mighty lion had his sights on his prey now. She had no where to run.

He swiftly moved through the crowd and behind her, looking over her shoulder at her with a charming smile. He had snuck up on her like a quiet fox smoothly moving through the trees. "Hello beautiful"He breathed in her ear lowly, moving his hands down her sides slowly and seductively. "Let's go somewhere a little more private, hmm?"He gripped her arms and began moving her none-too-gently out of the dorm. He moved her down the hall and slammed her against it. He moved his grip higher onto her wrists and pressed her to the wall, kissing her neck, "You better go along if you value your loverboy's life." He hissed in her ear, "I came here for some fun and I. am. not. leaving. without. it."

Xander

September 9th
12:44am

The rain was beating down on the world so hard tonight Xander had felt like it was trying to wash him away. It was like thousands of bullets were being shot down from the heavens. It completely almost completely obscured his vision. He could still see the dark, overcast sky above him and the wet road in front of him. Thunder boomed, reverberating through the night. There were only a few souls who had dared to venture out in this storm tonight. Those who did usually did not make it back home. Vampires tended to emerge due to the lack of people during a bad storm like this. They picked on whatever poor idiot had decided to come outside. Xander hadn't normally felt much pity for them. His own life had been hell and he had gone out of his way to keep his sister safe as well as his own life. People who were careless with their lives deserved what was coming to them.

Xander had few memories of the uncomfortable feeling of cold rain hitting his skin but the only discomfort that rain brought him now were the wet clothes. The quality of darkness shifted in the sky but the rain kept pouring. He moved under the roof of a store to collect his thoughts. He had been growing weak lately and had been hoping to get a bit of human blood in him. He mostly lived off animals for Kate's sake since she wished it but he would sometimes go off and drink blood from humans regardless. He felt stronger on human blood and he was willing to knock down others to keep his own living family member safe. Nonetheless, he usually didn't kill the person he took from and could control himself.

Pulling down the black hood from his head, his bright blue eyes pierced through the night, watching as silhouettes rapidly ran under the ray of the streetlight in the distance. They were gone in the next blink but he had known what he saw. Vampires were everywhere. This was more dangerous than it was worth at this point. He was best off finding Kate.

As if on cue, his phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and read it quickly with a groan. Where the fuck was she? The GPS was putting her in some random field. With a shake of his head, he threw himself back into the rain. He had been on edge all night. It hadn't rained this hard since the night they had lost their family. The screams of his parents haunted him often still but he usually was able to just push it away. Then there was Angel. He couldn't push her face out of his mind no matter how hard he tried.

She had only been a child, the youngest of the three of them. She had a young, freckled face and wavy ginger hair. She had only tall enough for the top of her head to reach his chest. Kate was the spitting image of her. The two had very similar faces and the same blue eyes. However, Kate's hair was short and a very deep red now. Yet, he still saw Angel in her face and a pang of guilt hit him from time to time. He had sworn to always protect the two of them. There had been many times his father had said, "You're the oldest Xander. You have to watch out for them. We won't always be here to guide them like you can."

The image of Angel's little body thrown over the shoulder of one of those men, lifeless, her mess of hair hiding the last expression on her face she'd ever have. It had hurt like hell to lose their parents. To hear their finals screams fall silent that rainy night was his worst nightmare. However, for him and Kate to see those monsters take their little sister away like that had been horrid. He'd never forget it.

Xander clenched his jaw, his expression shrouded by his hood as he threw his body into a hard sprint through the rain. He would never leave Kate alone for too long ever. He had to get to her. It wasn't long until he had reached a large mansion. It was hard to make out the details in the foggy surroundings but it was clear it was a mansion. What the fuck was she doing here? Her scent was hard to pick up on in the damp air of the storm but he managed to get a small whiff of it. He followed it to the second story window and was breaking in before he could really think much about it.

After ripping the windows open and climbing on to the sill, he hopped on to the floor with a wet squeak from his sneakers. Shaking off his hood, water dripped on to the floor from his wet hair. It was sticking uncomfortably to his neck at this point. The first thing he noticed was the pair of red, teary eyes upon Zane's face as he stared back at him. He had known before looking at him that there had been no humans in this room. Staring at him for only a moment, Xander glanced over at Kate.
She looked unharmed and healthy for the most part. She seemed maybe a bit frazzled and angry but physically fine. Though that was a relief, he was more than a little unhappy that her boyfriend was suddenly a vampire. Had she really turned him without consulting him about it?

"You've got to be kidding me."

Angel

September 9th
8:20am

Charlotte had started babbling immediately. Angel could remember now she was always quite the talkative thing. "You look so beautiful Angel and wow, your hair! Reminds me of the little mermaid. I really like it. I can help catch up with work what school did you transfer-" Angel could also remember how to tune her out and nod. She usually would just give the poor kind soul her attention but she had been distracted by Fiona's sudden leaving. "Hey wait-"She had tried to stop her but she was out the door before she could say much more. Maybe gasping in horror and exclaiming, "Jesus christ!" wasn't the nicest way to greet people. Lee's daughter or not, she decided on finding her and apologizing.

"Charlotte, any idea where Fiona was going?"Angel interrupted her finally. Charlotte halted her string of compliments and questions to glance over her shoulder. "I think she was upset."

Before Charlotte could reply, Angel had turned around on reaction to a tap on her shoulder. She raised her brow slightly when she found the old hag from before standing there.

"But are you familiar with the dress code?"

Angel blinked, doing a bit of a double take at the question. She looked down at her clothes in confusion. It wasn't like her breasts were spilling out of her shirt or anything.

"Spaghetti-straps are not allowed and neither are open armed clothing. You need to wear a jacket or something over it so it's covered. Unnatural hair colors are not allowed either. Please see the dress code policy and find yourself a jacket and a new hair color."

Angel felt anger stir inside her. Was she really going to pick on her for such trivial things and waste her time? There were so many more important things in the world and since when did schools have the right to tell people how to dress and what hair color to dye their hair? Angel really had no time or patience to deal with such stupid and meaningless rules. "How about you cheap fucks install some air conditioning here and then we can talk about the whole jacket thing again? As for the hair color-" She halted her little tirade before it could get worse and took a deep breath. She was only here to show the hunters she was capable of working with others. There was no reason to get caught up in the school's bullshit. She needed to stay focused on the goal.

Besides, a random bellow had interrupted her and the woman had stopped paying attention halfway during her rant. "Oh my God!" Angel followed the woman's gaze to find a guy with slightly longer brown hair and a charming face. Her heart lurched in her chest. She recognized that face anywhere. It really hadn't taken him and Charlotte to find her. It was like fate had pulled them back together like they were tied together by a very long string that had been slowly rewounding them closer and closer together. They were the only people in her life that hadn't died and she honestly was starting to believe that just anyone she kept in her presence was doomed. It had been so easy to push everyone away but for Derek, it was going to take all her self control to push him away. She couldn't just deny her best friend like he was nothing.

"I can't stand seeing her shoulder! It hurts too much! My eyes are burning! Please take me to the clinic now!" He had fallen after his statement and his friend was fanning him. A smile tugged at her lips.

"Derek my man! Wake up!" Two people were now pretending to do CPR. Derek wasn't too bad an actor. If she had just walked into the scene, she would had really thought he had fainted. "I think we lost him. Rest in peace, Derek." The kid did the sign of the cross and Angel burst into giggles. Was this what having friends was like? She was happy Derek was surrounded by a whole back up crew of friends. She hoped he had been happy all these years.

"Detention. All of you, this week." The woman had said once she stood up. Once she had left, Derek came towards her to her surprise. For some reason, she hadn't expected him to acknowledge her. Even as she stood in the same room as them, she had still felt like she was watching through a television screen. He put his jacket around her shoulders, the sudden warmth caressing her pale, freckled skin. "Here you go, my lady." She glanced down at it, dimly hearing him greet Charlotte. She would never say such a thing aloud since it would have been a weird thing to say but he really did smell the way she remembered. He always had such a comforting, nice smell. She glanced up to see Charlotte giggling and darting over to Jesse to join him.

"Is that you, Angel?"

The intent stare made her take a step back. He was really analyzing her, huh? Her slightly watering blue eyes looked him up and down. His body was trembling. With excitement? Anxiety? She wasn't sure.

She could turn back now. She could tell him he had the wrong girl and walk away. It would save him a lot of pain and maybe even his life. With a slightly shaking hand, she brushed hair from her face and prepared to state what she had planned to say but different words slipped from her mouth.

"Yeah... It's me."

Emma

The town was quiet all but for the sounds of crickets. The group of kids were huddled with flashlights in their hands and with anxious expressions on their faces. After sneaking past the shields, the group had been walking over the hills towards the town for the last ten minutes. It had been suspected to be impossible to get past the shields or the gate. The moonlight reflected the shadows of the five children against the wet grass as it dampened their shoes with each step.

There were four girls and one boy. One girl appeared a bit older than the others with brown hair in long braid. She was constantly whispering to two younger girls, snickering every so often. The last girl with the wavy blonde hair in the hoodie hadn't noticed quite yet that she was being left out. Her gaze had been fixed on the boy and the scene ahead of her.

"Emma. Can you believe we really got out? This is legendary."

The blonde looked at him with a smile, "No me neither." Emma had never been one to get in trouble. She had been riddled with anxiety for most of this experience. Her parents would be furious and as would Alex. However, slowly the feeling was being replaced by adrenaline. She had never felt so free. Running over clear hills with nothing by the starry sky above them felt so magical. She would have never guessed she would have found friends on the first day of school. She had figured she'd be stuck as the kid sister of Alex hanging with his friends all the time. Not that it was a bad thing, she loved his friends. Still, she wanted her own life.

Emma had just met them all today in her classes. She and the boy had hit it off in one class and then the next class she had found herself being invited to a sleepover party. However, she hadn't known that would entail a crazy game of truth or dare that would lead them all to breaking the school's most important rule: no going off campus without permission, especially at night and especially if you're in the lower grades.

"This is it!" The kids skidded to a halt in front of a large, abandoned manor. The windows were broken and the paneling was peeling off. Dirt covered the house and cobwebs in the windows. It was clear it had been abandoned for a long time. "This is the abandoned house I was talking about guys. Legend has it the ghosts of the people who died in there still lurk the halls." The brunette waved her hands for dramatic effect and grinned, "So Emma. You're going in right?"

Emma glanced at her, recalling it had been her dare. Fear set in as she stared the place. It looked dangerous and really creepy. They wanted her to go in alone? She looked over at the boy, Jacob. Her heart dared to beat so hard it popped out of her chest whenever she saw him.

"I don't know guys. That place seems kinda dangerous." Emma stated uneasily, "But I'll do it. "

"You will?" The girl said in shock, "Wow Emma. You're braver than I thought.'
"You'll totally be the coolest girl in the grade. No one else that comes here ever dares to go in." The other girl agreed.

"I heard no one comes out after going in."Jacob said and looked at Emma with a smile, "I'll come with you. To make sure you're safe and all."

Emma blushed a little. Who was she to act like a sissy in front of Jacob? "Oh please. It's nothing. "She said, "It's just some dumb house. You guys are such babies."She confidently began moving toward the house. She went up to the door and opened it.
Jacob ran to her side to come with her apparently but when she took a step in, he slammed the door behind her, laughing hysterically. Quickly, he locked it and ran back to the others.

He came over to them as Emma's yells echoed. It was clear she was also banging her fists on the door. The girls burst into laughter. The brunette took out her cell phone and dialed the police. "Hello, a young girl is trespassing at private property at 141 Toulane Drive..."

Alex

Alex struggled to get through the crowd back to Shay. He craned his neck over the heads as music boomed beneath his feet. It was a wonder how they didn't get caught with how loud the music was. He saw her eating a brownie and groaned. There was totally pot in that. He finally managed to get over to her. He could his body stumbling as he walked."Wow Shay. I think there was a lot of alcohol in that drink. I'm already tipsy." Shay reacted by grabbing his waist and declaring they dance. She started to sing and dance, giving him a kiss as well. The room was spinning around and it felt like the floor was slanting. He couldn't see anything but the beautiful girl in front of him singing. He took another drink from his cup and set it down. "Marry me right now? I think I'm too drunk to remember what to say."He laughed. Every time he looked at this girl, he had to restrain himself from overflowing with compliments. She was just so gorgeous. He was staring at her with a far-off look, barely hearing what she was saying. Alex finally gave in to his desire and passionately kissed her.

That's when Alex's phone started ringing. He picked it up as he let go of Shay a moment.
"Excuse me sir. Is this the father of Emma Remington? Could you come pick her up from the police station?"
Alex couldn't believe his ears. He murmured a reply and hung up looking around. His eyes set on Rose and he grabbed Shay's shoulder in a hurry, pulling her over to Rose. "Stay with Rose... Rose take her back to the others. Don't leave her alone."

Rosaline

"James?"

Rose couldn't quite say she had ever seen anyone react like James before but she had seen something close with one of her uncles. He had been in the Superior War in his youth and he still got flashbacks. It wasn't hard to figure something horrible had happened to him. She had found him out in the snow freezing to death after all. However, she had never asked about his past. When he was ready, he would tell her. If he'd never be ready, that was okay too. She cared about making his future better more than learning about his past. Whatever had happened, parties seemed to be a trigger. He looked so scared that it hurt Rose to look at him. He started to stumble and sob hysterically suddenly. Everyone in the room stopped to look over besides the few who were too close to the stereo to really hear him. She had to get him out of here.

She had never seen James cry and she had never wanted to. Her heart was shattering into little pieces. It was like watching a puppy get kicked. This was so awful. She put her arms through his armpits and began trying to pull him off the floor but it was a little hard to do it when eh was rocking and chanting Jason's name. He said two others but he had no idea who they were. Thankfully, Jason had dropped his fangirls to come over. He helped pick James up and brought him quickly into the next room. Rosaline quickly followed, shutting the door behind her before she attacked the stupid kids that was now giggling at the whole spectacle.

Jason sat him down on the edge of the bed and hugged him tight. They were in someone's bedroom. He rubbed his back and shh'ed him soothingly, seeming so unlike himself. Rose would had never thought this comforting side was in Jason. She silently clutched the edges of her skirt, feeling useless as he comforted James. She had no idea what to do. She came over finally and hugged the other side of James. "You're here."Jason told James. "You're in the school with Rose and I. You gotta open your eyes and look at this cute blonde who's hugging you. "

He finally looked at Rosaline. For a second, she was confused to why he was brushing her cheeks with his hands and then she realized she had been crying too. "It's okay. He's just scared. I'm sure you can tell he's been through a lot but don't worry. You're doing a really good job helping him heal. Just give him a second to come back to us. You know what would help? Why don't you go grab some food and a drink for him?"

"Right... Okay I will."Rose managed quietly. She slowly got to her feet and then walked back out into the party. The loud music assaulted her ears once again but it wasn't as joyous a thing as it had been before. She hated it for making James so upset and she hated herself for dragging him here. She hadn't realized this could trigger him and she felt like a big idiot. Whispers about him being crazy made her look up and glare. "I rather be crazy than a judgmental asshole like you. You don't know what he's been through, how dare you."She snapped at people suddenly, making them stare with wide eyes. They clearly hadn't think Rose could hear them. She glared at them as if her eyes could throw daggers for a moment longer, further silencing them until she could move on to the food table.

Rose glanced over her shoulder as she filled the plate with James' favorite snacks and a slice of pizza. Alex was talking to her and bringing Shay over. "Sure! She's safe with me." He ran off immediately as soon as she spoke. She hoped everything was okay."
