I keep coming back here very so often, as if it would make my wanting to return any better. I don't know why that would be. I would just disappear again and regret it again, I'm sure.

Reserving for a character spot, WIP:
Quick question: Is there any specific reason you mention not to list guns in a character's weapons? Would any firearms they carry be forfeited into a group pile, or...?
Put a post out. Hope it works enough, based on my observations. If there's anything that needs editing, @Vash, please yell at me about it.
The operation was already about to begin when Greyson clomped his way to the bridge. He was sure that he wouldn't be so impossibly missed when it came to the navigation, as Grissom himself did most of the technical navigation in his piloting. Greyson was just there so that he was doing something, and coordinating a flight path was better with someone separate looking at the map and pointing out the hazards. But that was only going to matter once they broke through the cloud-cover and into the city.

The doors slid open and then slammed shut again as the navigator walked through into the heart of the flight deck. There was a small squad of four people manning and monitoring various instruments around the helm, including Grissom himself at the controls. It was a basic sort of cockpit layout for airships, which had the pilot encampment on a platform bisecting a semicircle of consoles, monitoring and controlling the weapons and other auxiliary systems. The navigator sat in a smaller encampment behind the pilot, with access to a small circular holo-desk with with which to draw and upload flight paths to the pilot's HUD.

Greyson hopped into the navigator's chair and smacked the table, booting it up. He pulled up the three-dimensional map of the city, taking note of the already-established points which marked the anti-air cannons. Grey proceeded to zoom in, looking to mark the supposed encampments of armed sky pirates. It seemed like the AA cannons triangulated in a certain four-pointed prism, where the city mansion formed the outlying point. Which meant, in order to get a significant vantage upon most of the encampments, the Dusicyon would have to fly right into the grid of AA guns.

"Alright," Grey briefly spoke up, "I'm sure you have a flight plan of your own in mind, but let me at least draw out a grid for you." His idea was to dip right into the fray and blitz the enemy before the AA guns could all load up upon them, and by the time they did, swoop up and away to loop around, keeping the guns at as far a range as they could distract them with. But Matty was the main mind behind the steering of the airship, so he was likely going to follow whatever plan the captain had laid out for him before.

The point was, in fact, for the Crimson Dusicyon to provide air support against the brunt of the ground forces while the drop crew cleared out key points, so Grissom was likely going to linger more while the gunners dumped fire on the whole city. Risky, but perhaps more effective for the mission overall, perhaps. In any case, they would have to be mutable about it, as there was no clear indication of which AA installations were going to be taken down first.

Grissom swooped the airship into the city with abrupt force, granting the gunner crew a powerful blitz opportunity. And took it they did, quickly unleashing a full payload on the city below and quickly loading and re-loading for further attacks. Laser cannons pelted down the streets while brilliant fireballs blasted apart the towers and forts. His face curling into one of disdain, Grey briefly spoke out, "If we're trying to capture this city, maybe we shouldn't blow up everything..."

Whatever further contributions Grey had, they were cut off by a sudden jolting to the side - a clear indication one of the guns had landed a solid shot on the Ducicyon. "Dammit, we're being nailed down here! Hit the throttle, put some range on the guns!" Grey called out to Matty, hoping his words weren't going to fall on deaf ears this time.
@AquaAzura Really, wherever we can work them in. If they are meant to be of a higher level, then they're likely to show up around the time units would reach that level.
@Crimson Raven Hmm. Sibling pair might be okay, depending on your choice of classes.

As for starting weapons, there aren't any real weapon rankings - weapon quality is divided by material (bronze, iron, steel, silver) and higher materials are more rare but better for enchantments. When I say to be reasonable, I ask what your character would probably have; iron is what you're most likely to have, maybe steel if you're really well off.

A unique or named weapon you start with can have a unique design, but won't function too much differently than a normal weapon of the same material aside from one minor trait (maybe it stays sharp better or is built for your specific fighting style - you would specify when you create it). A weapon that 'gains power as the user does' is probably just a little too much.
I want in on summa dis.
@Eklispe No, every skill rank should cost 1 point to advance. E-rank is 1 point put in a stat, D-rank is 2 points in a stat, C-rank is 3 points invested, and so on. Forfeiting a weapon proficiency for a rank gives you 1 point, and 1 point universally raises any rank by 1 degree.
@Sagittarius Oh, right...

The majority of Beorcs dislike Laguz under a combination of a racial superiority complex and a false belief that the Laguz were giving in to the dragons by trying to harness their power. Beorc-Laguz hybrids are existent, just as some Beorc-Laguz settlements and relations are, but all are rare and kept secretive from both races.
Such hybrids are known as Branded; they look mostly like Beorc, except for a certain birthmark on their body unique to them. They cannot shift forms like Laguz can, but may bear certain Laguz traits that Beorc do not, such as heightened senses, abnormally high aptitude, or some special technique (reflected in one of your features). Branded function as Beorc in gaining stats and proficiency (via promotion), but gain class features like a Laguz (per the end of each Act, independent of their class).

As of right now, no half-Manaketes could possibly exist, in terms of the active story, and if any were made in the course of the story, they certainly would not become mature enough to matter. If you must know, however, such hybrids are ultimately akin to Branded (in that they gain a certain mark on their body and some advanced trait), but they will live being even more racially prejudiced.
If that sounds underwhelming, remember: the Manaketes are dragons brought down to the power level of humans. Their blood wouldn't have any particularly special power to pass down. And no, it wouldn't make them resonant to a Dragonstone, either.
Great to see we already have players drawing up characters for this! Before we go any further, however, there are a couple things we neglected to mention in the top post:

Firstly, where our player characters fit within the plot: the players would all be involved in or traveling with a sort of mercenary band that happens to get caught up in the conflict over the hunt for the Fire Emblem. Whether you decide to fight back against the encroaching army, or attempt to flee and fend for yourselves, this band will ultimately orchestrate a turning point in the new war. This is the primary idea, but it is subject to change before the RP launches proper, if enough players agree to a new idea.

Secondly, for plot reasons, we will only be accepting one (1!) character whom is a Manakete with a Dragonstone. After this character is reserved and made, any other Manakete characters that players choose to make cannot possess a Dragonstone (though they are still able to wield them should they ever find one or borrow one). In addition, if you are creating a Manakete character, please PM one of our current planners (@Penultimate_Pi and @Corporal Lance), as it will be necessary in order to explain what Manaketes are even doing in the human world and to create a biography that reflects that.

Thirdly, to answer a question from @Crimson Raven, multiple characters will be allowed if you so choose. However, each player should only start with one character; all secondary characters will be introduced and recruited to the party as progress is made through the RP, in true Fire Emblem fashion. This acts not only as a way of providing more buildup and power to the RP as it progresses, but can justify a character being a more powerful class if they join much later on. (Do note that 'promoted' level characters who join before everyone else would promote will NOT receive a promotion.)

Fourthly, finally, and unrelated to the above: @Eisenhorn, your appearance picture isn't working. Try uploading to Imgur.
