Personal Style: Charlie's style is usually a bit more presentable then other teenage boys his age; favouring plain but smart clothing such as button-up shirts and cotton sweaters, the scruffiest thing about his style are his battered converse trainers. Once a clean white, they are now a weathered, scuffed-up grey, and will remain that way until he can afford a new pair. As for his bottom half, he'll be found in either jeans or slacks. Shorts and jogging bottoms are avoided like the plague, unless he's working out.
For outwear, he has a favorite
winter coat, usually paired with scarf and gloves when cold out. Although he does own a couple of hoodies he prefers to wear them only when it becomes unbearably warm in his favored coat.

Relationship Status: Single; although he never had a formal “I’m-breaking-up-with-you” conversation with his previous girlfriend, he figures that skipping town and never speaking to her again got the message across pretty well.
Personality: Although Charlie’s quietness is one of the first things one picks up about him, it’s more for the fact that he has less to say than being shy. When engaged, he can join in on a conversation happily enough, but it’s clear he takes stock in the term “Silence is golden”. Paired with this, he is quite reserved. Although honest in most ways, he tends to keep his emotions bottled up, and his problems to himself. Nobody’s been able to help him in the past with his problems, so he doesn’t see the point in stopping that now.
Being a typical teenage boy, he has his mood swings now and again. Alternating between grumpiness and a want to be by himself, these traits can be half-blamed by the realisation of his powers. He’s both unhappy with and scared of what he can do, and as such, has no desire to practice and improve them in his spare time. He’ll use them in missions to try and help people, but seriously dislikes them – and by default, dislikes himself.
Despite mood swings, Charlie does enjoy the company of others. Being in a new school away from his bullies has brought out a brighter side to him, despite the circumstances. Things seem much easier at this school, and therefore, he’s generally happier. If you’re to make friends with him here, he’ll make a decently firm one.
After a year and a half of living with other mutants, Charlie's personality has flourished under the Bully-Free environment that he'd grown accustomed to at home. Although still overall an introvert, he has become far more open and confident in talking to others and interacting with new people and experiences. A competitive streak has also developed, courtesy to his branching out friendship group and various new video games that have been introduced to his new home. However, not every development of personality has been a positive one. Thanks to the events that transpired at the Brotherhood facility a year and a half ago, Charlie has developed a very indecisive and worrying streak. He overthinks dangerous situations, fretting over whether a single action is the correct one, or if it would ruin everything. Although doing well in the Danger Room, he knows that the simulations are fake, and has a tendency to freeze up when real danger approaches. With the world devolving in it's opinion of mutants, he's quietly stressing over what may happen, leading him to clam up now and again.
Habits: Tapping a beat on surfaces, keeps hands in his pockets when wearing his coat or jackets, if not, his hands are usually fiddling or fidgeting with something.

- Fire powers: After having trained over the past year and a half regularly, Charlie is much better at summoning, controlling and directing his fire. It will occasionally flare up during emotional outbursts of anger, but as he's not a particularly angry person, this rarely happens.
- Thermokinesis: Charlie is now able to change the temperature around him at will, though it is still more misbehaving than his flame powers. Cold powers are still heavily attuned to his feelings of sadness, grief and fear.

How did you discover your powers: Ever since he turned 12 he’d be wondering if there was something wrong with him. Things just started to happen randomly around him, especially when he was feeling stressed out. Unfortunately, due to school and everything, stress was a common factor. He was always stressed, so there were always incidents. Windowpanes suddenly frosting over and shattering on a warm spring day; the Bunsen burners they used in chemistry flaring up dangerously everytime he felt a spitwad hit his hair; plastic trays beginning to soften and warp under his grip during lunchtime as it suddenly heated up. He usually hid these incidents well enough, but as bullies do, they sniffed out his “weirdness” almost immediately. They couldn’t explain why all of these things were happening, and they likely didn’t even believe the freak accidents were anything to do with Charlie: they just pinned it on him anyway, after noticing how uncomfortable he became during these weird circumstances.
Why did you choose the side that you did?: After several years of strange occurrences, Charlie had sort of worked out what was wrong with him. Mutants were becoming more and more popular in the media, and it just seemed to make sense that he was one too. A scary thought, what with everything going on, so he never told anyone. After the incident that caused him to run away from home, he'd already made plans to somehow get to New York. He'd been directed to this institute for gifted kids several times on deep web sites for mutants in hiding, saying it was potentially a safe place. Funnily enough, Xavier found him before he'd even made it halfway through hitch-hiking and long, lonesome treks across wilderness. Upon cornering him under an overpass in Chicago, the man had been pretty kind and patient with him, especially considering he both looked and smelt like a homeless person by then. From there, it was pretty simple which side to take. Nice mutants who offered him free shelter, safety, and schooling, or terrorists bent on murdering all the humans on earth?
General History:Charlie started out life as the second of three children to Michael and Belinda Farrier, in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Living on the outskirts of the town surrounded by trees, the family had a private, comfortable life, with his mother and father working as a prominent wood carver and lumberjack respectively. However, life wasn't always great for Charlie as a kid. Being rather quiet and interested in stereotypically "nerdy" areas, Charlie was targeted quite early on from a young age by classroom bullies. His parents took the stance of standing up for oneself, so did nothing much to help him early on; when things got worse, he simply decided not to tell them because of their apparent nonchalance towards it. The school had a terrible anti-bullying policy, his handful of friends were just as shy as he was, and his siblings couldn't really do much to help either - his sister, older than him by 12 years, had already left school and their small town for her own life, and his younger brother was only an infant by the time the bullying started for him around the age of 8.
Things carried on for several more years; there weren't many schools in the small town, so he was constantly near them five days in the week. Things got much worse when his powers began to manifest. Not just because of the powers, of course, but because of another thing. His mother was diagnosed with lung cancer around the same time.
She'd been a smoker for a long as he could remember; always taking breaks when she was pregnant or around the kids, even giving it up during one of those popular "going-dry for a month" things people used to do. She wasn't addicted, and it was hardly as if she had a cigarette between her lips 24/7. And yet, there it was. Stage 3 lung cancer. Surgery and chemotherapy occurred almost immediately, but it was so intense and rigorous that she had to stop working. Being the main breadwinner for the family with her beautiful wood sculptures and carvings, the Farrier household took a hit in terms of both money and morale. Suddenly the bullies found more to tease Charlie with - his exceedingly more tattered clothing, his shoes that kept getting more holes in from wear and tear as they couldn't afford new ones, his outdated electronic devices... and of course, his strange powers that they were aware of, but too scared to actually point out that he may be a mutant.
Things came to a head for Charlie only about four months ago. First off, his mother died. Finally succumbing to her disease, she died in her sleep at the local hospital. In the weeks after that, his powers were flaring up more and more, getting to such a point where he stopped going to school just in case he accidentally hurt somebody.
Unfortunately, that's exactly what ended up happening. About a month after his mother's funeral, Charlie's bullies began to grow bored at school due to his absence. Figuring they'd make up for lost time, they cycled to his secluded house, hoping to torment the boy just for their own amusement. Late in the evening, they confronted him in his back yard, surrounding him and beginning to hurl abuse. They rarely got physical with him, hence why the bullying had gone on for so long with nobody caring... it was just insults. Coercion, blackmail, gentle prodding in the side that after a long day of abuse would just make him dissolve into tears. This time, however, Charlie lost his temper as soon as his deceased mother was brought up. He didn't even have time to raise his fists in anger when a blinding white light threw him and his bullies backwards, knocking all the wind from his body as he hit the ground.
When he came round, there was a startling ringing in his ears, and spots before his eyes. His clothes were nearly burnt away, flesh peppered with small cuts and scrapes, and nearly all of him covered in soot. Before him, a large hole had been blasted away from his house, the second floor beginning to crumble onto the floor with the remnants of the kitchen. As he looked on, he realised. The propane tank behind the house had been there... in his anger, he must have set it off somehow. Heated up the liquid within until it ignited. As he looked around, he saw the bullies laying around him. And they were much worse off than he. Whether they'd been hit by the shrapnel or not, he couldn't tell, simply because of the burns on them. Thankfully they were all unconscious, because some of those burns looked bone deep. A blinding panic of fear set in, and Charlie sprinted back into his half-collapsed house. Thankfully, his father and brother had been out, but they'd be back any time soon. As would emergency services... and with them, brought questions. As soon as they worked out he was a mutant, he'd be locked up for good for this act, accident or not. In fact, prison would be preferable to the things he'd heard people spew when it came to hating mutants.
Grabbing a couple of spare clothes, band-aids for his injuries, and a couple of other things, he fled from his house, pelting into the woods and running for as long as he dared before finally collapsing in exhaustion. He knew now there was only one place he'd be safe - with others of his kind. Mutants.
