I think it's more transmitted by people and animals, kind of like rabies I guess. Maybe water too. Thats how they kept it from spreading for so long. As for what caused it, maybe bioterrorism? Maybe this thing with the rogue Vatican factions has been going on longer than people realised.

Oh, I was thinking that he was always sickly, but that's kind of why Giovanni's worried about the possibility of him turning. Of course, no ones actually turned yet, so they don't actually know about the monsters, but once they start showing up, he'll begin to worry again. Also, I'm thinking that the plague works by killing most, and then turning most of the rest, so even if you're immune to the properties that kill people, you aren't necessarily immune to the transformative properties.

Yeah, their immunity might make them targets later on, but I have to say, you bringing up the possibility of them becoming monsters is actually a little intriguing to me. I'm thinking of making my older brother, Giovanni, a bit of a fighter, and now I wonder if that might be an interesting side plot, for him, or for one of the others...

Al is a young boy with short red hair and light brown, almost amber eyes. Somewhat short even for his age, he stands at just 4’7, and while the clothes he wears tend to vary wildly, he was wearing a red hoodie, white shirt and jeans when everything went to hell.

Personality
Al is a very… lets just say boisterous kid, often shouting and grinning. Rarely quiet, he’s always jumping into situations that others would avoid, and isn’t afraid to step up and blurt out a decision if he feels like the people around him are acting too slowly.

Nowadays however, things are a little different. Ever since the anarchy began, he’s seen things that have horrified him. While he still tries to act upbeat and unshakable, if for nothing else than to keep Na from worrying, he will sometimes find himself staring at nothing in particular, less than pleasant memories replaying in his head. Oddly enough, he’s also found himself becoming a lot more protective of Na, ready to fight anyone he perceives as a threat.

Red is his favourite colour, although that’s beginning to change as he sees more and more of it in worse context.

Giovanni is a young man with brown hair and eyes. He stands relatively tall, at just over 6’3 feet, and will wear whatever the hell he finds. He’s not picky.

Personality
When one first meets him, they couldn’t be blamed for having a fairly low opinion of Giovanni. He is quite blunt, often telling people exactly what he thinks of them, and acts pretty lazy. He can also be quite selfish, hypocritical, even a little cowardly, and is just a general bother to deal with.

However, work your way around these blatant faults and you’ll find someone ridiculously good at rising to the occasion. He is fiercely protective of Nino, even if it doesn’t always look like it, and if anyone he cares about is threatened, he will fight relentlessly to keep them out of harms way. He can also be quite cunning, using all kinds of dirty underhanded tricks both inside and outside fights. Finally, he’s bluntness can almost count as a strength, as it means that when he complements a person, they can know he really means it.

He’s actually really good at sewing, cooking, and the rest of your stereotypical housewife jobs, even if he’s too lazy to do them half the time.

Giovanni was actually born in America. However, when he was eight, his mother moved back to her hometown, where she met her new husband.

Alright, cool! Although I will say that I reckon a big part of this should be our characters having a natural immunity to the plague.

Alright, well in that case, I've got another idea that kind of stems from that. Basically, outside of Italy, this whole situation hasn't been going on too long. It's maybe been four days or so since everything collapsed and the anarchy and madness began. In Italy however, it's been going on for just over a month now, but other governments had managed to keep it relatively quarantined until recently. So basically the Italians have been through quite a bit before the RP actually starts.

Oh, also, did you still wanna make Nino and my older character step brothers?

Thats pretty good! Ok, I'll get started on my two now. For the irish kids, I was actually thinking they were just on holiday, when everything went to shit kind of abruptly, maybe Ireland closed their borders or something and they got trapped on the mainland. For the others, no idea really. Maybe Italy? It's one of the few european countries I actually know more about than the basics.

Also, fun (probably stupid) little idea I'm gonna cannibalise from another story I came up with. Somehow or other, this apocalypse leads to a second Roman Empire. Maybe surviving rogue Vatican elements or something, where enough of them survive to keep a relatively stable chain of command, but they're also a bit more fanatical then they are at the moment, so the italian brothers, assuming they actually do end up being italian, have had to escape, which is how they end up meeting.

Hell, maybe those rogue elements even created the plague, who knows?

Oh, and I know I said it wouldn't matter, but with the red hair siblings, maybe we could have be Irish or something, continue the stereotype and all that!

I'm down with that idea. I'm thinking we just make stuff up as we go along, makes things less predictable. I'll probably steal your CS for my characters as well, but there probably won't be too much except for the basics, and maybe some stuff about their personalities so we can know how the siblings will act around each other.
