Bio

Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste discerning in his choice of ramen. I'm a Canadian student currently living in Germany to do my Masters. I enjoy sports, martial arts, reading, writing, videogames and draw inspiration from all of these for my roleplays.

As for RPs, I like many different topics but only ever join one or two at a time. Any more than that, and I run out of time to write, so my quality really starts to slip. The upside of this is that I almost never drop an RP unless everyone else deserts it. If you see me apply to yours, it probably means I'm in for the long haul.

Lilly Jatmoore

Calm down, Lilly! Focus! *static* Once the house was cleared, she finally had a moment to breath and quickly looked over their surroundings. The gunfire from the front seemed to have masked their firefight, so they had at least a few seconds before the imperials realized their lancer nest had suddenly gone quiet. From a firing perspective, their new position was pretty well perfect. The corner looking out over the street had been demolished by a lance or mortar round from the Gallians earlier in the fight, and that had been where the imp lancers were shooting from. She took a quick peek over the edge and found herself staring down at the 2 remaining medium tanks. One of them was aiming towards Snider's tank and slowly turning, no doubt to advance on his position, while the other kept firing on the Gallian command post. The elevated position, though, meant that both of their radiators were clearly visible to them.

Lilly quickly hustled back from the edge and whispered to the team, trying to speak strongly enough to be heard over the explosions, but quietly enough that she didn't give them away. "Miss Durandal, grab one of the anti-tank lances from the imps. If anyone else here knows how to use one, they can grab the other. We need to destroy those tanks and then hold our position. The Imperial infantry will probably charge us and try to retake the house, if they don't retreat." *KABOOM!* A sudden explosion nearby caused Lilly to duck and cover her ears. "a-alright. Everyone else, either cover the stairs or get to a window. We need to do as much damage as we can. Is that alright? Good luck everyone."

***

"Ok... Ok... is everyone ready? 3... 2... 1... FIRE!!!!" Once her team had gotten into position, Lilly started the count down and signaled their attack. She lent her own rifle to the barrage, firing towards an engineer taking cover beside the furthest tank. The attack came as a surprise to him, and he fell quickly, several bullets in his chest. As the tanks got hit, then detonated, chaos began to overtake the imperial force. Soldiers ran everywhere, some nearly bumping into each other as they scrambled for cover, not knowing where the attacks were coming from. Caught between Lilly's fire team and the Gallian front line, they began to fall in quick succession. Some took cover behind sandbags, thinking the Gallian defenders had redoubled their attack, only to be gunned down by the team members in the building. Others recognized that they were being attacked from the rear, but were shot by the command post defenders when they tried to turn around. Even Snider had managed to join in, firing his tank's MG and cannon once the medium tanks were no longer present. All in all, things were working fantastically.

By the front line, a lone Imperial officer managed to grasp the situation and began to organize a frantic retreat. He stood up, shouted and waved to his men, gesturing for them to withdraw back up the street and... well, he didn't get to finish his orders; Lilly's rifle made sure that. Go. Shoot. Attack! Kill! As the imperials broke cover and started to run, Lilly's firing became increasingly frantic. She barely bothered to aim; there was no time. They needed to inflict as much damage as they could while the imps were disorganized, and that meant unloading bullets as fast as her trigger finger would allow. When she needed to reload, she began shouting orders. "Imps by the alley! Gun them down! They're coming for our house! Stop them before they get here!" *Static* *StaticStaticStatic* The stress of the situation was once again having an affect on Lilly. There was so much to do, and she could only move so fast or shout so much. This panic crept into her voice and actions, resulting in an even shriller voice and shakier limbs. The straw that broke the camel's back was when a group of scouts that had managed to take cover in a building across the street. They had spotted the team and began to return fire, alerting Lilly to their presence when a bullet grazed her cheek. *StaticCrackleFizzle* *SNAP*

"IMPS IN THE YELLOW HOUSE! DURANDAL, USE YOUR LANCE! SHOOT THAT HOUSE AND BURN ALL THE BASTARDS!!!"
@Evil Snowman@CirusArvennicus@Shyla Nesthorn
PFC Snider

"YEAAAAHHH!!!" Cheers erupted in the tank again as the imperial assault broke, allowing Snider to pull the tank back out onto the road. "Alright, let's show them what we've got! Neville! FIRE!!!" As the tank advanced and began it's attack, the radio crackled to life. "Snider, Hunt. This is Captain Meulemann. Excellent work on the front line there, chaps, I've received word that the assault has been broken and the Imperials are in full retreat. Now, I have new orders for both of you. Advance up the street, towards the intersection. You will be joining the defenders to begin a counterattack immediately. One of their units, 'Charlie section' will be temporarily folded into your fire team for the remainder of this operation. Understood? Keep up the good work, lads."

Snider was grinning from ear to ear as the tank rumbled forward. Everything was going according to plan, and the honor belonged entirely to his crew and squad 4. Today's fight was turning out to be a good one. "Roger that! We're beginning our advance."

Lord Barst

As the Imperials were swept away, Lord Barst nodded with satisfaction. They had gone from being on deaths door to about to hand the Imperials their most decisive defeat yet. From his new vantage point, he surveyed the battle, watching the explosions and gunfire as the reinforcements and his defenders brought the fight to the fleeing imperials. Most of them were behaving exactly as he'd expect from professional soldiers, but there were a few notable exceptions. Charlie section had advanced with a vigor hitherto unseen, killing far more imperials than he had anticipated, and the reinforcing squad may as well have been blessed by the Valkyrur themselves, for the amount of damage they were causing was truly immense. He made a mental note of this, before going back to examining the battle. Once all was said and done, he may need to have a word with them. Congratulations were certainly in order.

Meanwhile on the southern defense line, the Clarke siblings arrived at the street they were supposed to reinforce, only to find it deserted with dead imperials everywhere. Private Joseph Clarke turned to his sister and shrugged. "I guess they've already attacked. We'd better hurry." The two hustled across the road and down the alley a moment later, searching for their missing comrades.

Body... Body... Body... More Bodies...

When the twins finally found Cheslock (who had just finished off the imperial he had been wrestling with) and Smythe, Sue Clark shook her head. "Cheslock... What ARE you?" Just how had he managed to take out this many Imperials on his own? Judging by Smythe's expression, he didn't know either. "Regardless, we don't have a map so we'll follow you two. Lead on when-" She was suddenly cut off by a pair of imperial scouts charging around the corner of the building beside them. It was clear that the encounter was a suprise for both parties, because the imps took a split second to react. The shocktrooper duo quickly exploited this by firing from the hip and gunning them down before they had a chance to aim their rifles. "REGARDLESS. We'll follow you and breach any buildings we need to clear. Lead on."
@Slypheed Sure, we haven't gone far. Brenna's still with us and hasn't eaten a bullet yet, so you can pick right up and post if you want. Just let me know, because if you aren't gonna post, I'm going to move us along tonight/tomorrow.
I have a shitload of work to do, and am visiting family for the weekend. I won't be able to post until at least sunday night, unless I get an unexpected block of downtime.

Juuuuust so y'all know.
No worries, life comes first after all.

As for the browser crashing issue, this is a good time for me to promote the Lazarus extension.
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon..
chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/laza..

When ever you're typing in a textbox on the net, that plugin autosaves your content approx. every 30 seconds. That way, if you crash, you can just right click on the box where you were typing and hit recover text. It has saved me many hours of my life.

Very, very handy for things like roleplays. If you use firefox or chrome, I highly recommend it.
Then go right ahead. I just don't want to encourage speed posting and leave some people in the dust.
@Jotunn Draugr Normally they just sorta fade into obscurity when people drop out, but why not. Makes things simpler in the long run for us.

As for your post, you don't need to edit it yet. After snowman gets their reply up, I'll be moving us ahead into the next phase of the assault where Zark's group should begin moving forward. Once they post and move into your general area (they're currently occupying a house much further down the street), you should be good to go.

@Roxim Teaga Alright, thank's for letting us know. Your always welcome back if you want to rejoin.
There, just wrote up a post to:
1) show the situation
2) show where you guys are located (the building to the left of the leftmost blue arrow)
3) give you guys some orders to build your posts off. Feel free to control the NPCs (including Smythe) during your posts, you don't need to wait for me to say something like 'the shocktroopers arrived and the imps started to retreat' to begin your attack.

This battle is also a little bit different from the other ones. The situation demands that this turn into a curb stomp in our favour, so feel free to power game a little bit. Our squad (and your section) need to be wildly successful in order to attract the interest of a plot development further down the line.

As always, if you need more info/clarification or have any questions/comments/concerns about the setup, please let me know.

Lord Barst / Gallian Defenders

"Spread yourselves out, there are mortars incoming. I forbid you from clustering up and dying like imbeciles! Shocktroopers, keep the fire on them. If any of the bastards break through, I'll have your heads. Lancers, try to make yourselves useful an-" *pfft* "AND KILL THOSE TANKS BEFORE THEY MAKE MINCE MEAT OF US!" Lord Barst's usual sneering voice swiftly turned to one of rage as a sniper bullet landed in the window frame beside him. The Imperial counterattack had hit hard and fast, forcing them back until they were left making a desperate defense at the street surrounding the forward command post. Worst of all, apparently a damn sniper had spotted him! He quickly moved to a different location in the building before the marksman could correct his aim.

Amongst the troops, Lord Barst's commands were met with mixed feelings. Ordinarily a high ranking man such as himself would not be giving orders to mere front line soldiers, but a platoon leader and several squad leaders had already met their ends as a result of the Imperial attack. As a result of the leadership shortage, the lord had taken it upon himself to personally command the defense. While his orders were competent enough, the disdainful sound of his voice was not particularly helping moral.

Meanwhile on the front line, the west-most group of Gallians (designated 'Charlie Section') were holding on desperately against a determined attack. PFC Cheslock, Private Pierce, a pair of scouts and a radio operator were hunkered down in a building overlooking the southern road and were in the process of trying to prevent a squad of imperial shocktroopers from crossing it. The imperials had taken their own positions, either crouching in the alleys or firing from the windows of several houses, trying to whittle down the defenders with sheer numbers and firepower.

*CrackCrackCrack!* Private Smythe, the radio operator, frantically fired off a few shots from his rifle before diving to the ground as a barrage of machinegun fire tore through the window he had just been shooting from. Before crawling to another position, he took a moment to check on the status of the two shock troopers he was sharing the room with. "Cheslock, Pierce! Hows your ammo? Is anyone injured?"

A few minutes later, his radio crackled to life and relayed a sneering status report from Lord Barst. "That's it, keep beating them back! A reserve unit is on its way to assist us. Keep the bastards away from command for another 10 minutes and we will turn this battle around." *CrackCrackCrack!* *Ping!* Smythe fired off the last few rounds in his magazine towards the imperials in an alley before ducking back down to reload. "You guys hear that? Reinforcements are coming! We've just got to hold on a little bit longer!"

***

Ten minutes later, Smythe was astounded that they were still alive. The house they had been defending was becoming increasingly pockmarked with bullets as the Imperial assault intensified. It was getting to the point where no one was able to accurately fire, such was the volume of bullets cascading towards their position. Somehow though, they had managed to hold and prevent the imps from crossing the road. The bodies of several dotted the street, serving as a testament to their effectiveness.

When a sudden explosion occurred and one of the Imperial tanks by the intersection detonated, a cheer rose up from the defenders, quickly followed by a transmission from Lord Barst. "Congratulations gentlemen, the reinforcements have arrived. Now listen up. Continue holding your positions until they start to break through, then we are going to begin our offensive. Charlie section, the Imperials in your area are about to be cut off and should start retreating soon. Once they take the pressure off, I want you to take the fight to them. Use the tank traps for cover and advance across the street in pursuit. Link up with the reinforcements if you can, I'm sending two more troopers to help you. Onwards gentlemen! For glory!" ... Well that was that. They WERE charlie section, so Smythe quickly relayed the orders to their group. "The reinforcements are here! Barst says he's sending 2 more shock troopers to help us, and that the enemy in our area shoul-" *Phew!* He recoiled as a bullet wizzed through the window he was standing beside. Apparently the Imperials hadn't retreated quite yet. "-Should start to retreat soon! Once they do, we're supposed to attack them and advance to join up with the reinforcement squad!"

And the RP must be following something. Like, there must be some basis for the progression of events, right?

Aside from following the game's timeline for world events, we're pretty well doing our own thing. Lennon and myself have hacked out a plot that we're following so it's not 100% seat of our pants, but we aren't following any of the game's/anime's stories.

As for the intro post, sure, I'll write something up.

EDIT: Sure, you can play wendy. I don't think we have any plans in the works for encountering squad 7 any time soon, but if we ever give them a cameo appearance, you're free to play her.
