No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.

Arguing over petty details at times of dimensional emergency was a familiar wizardly trait.

You're obviously welcome to play anything as long as it doesn't get weird, like with geth or, I don't know, hanar.
What did you have in mind?
Omega seems a nice place to start. Probably in the middle of ME2 (plague and archangel solved).
You can use your own templates. Just put the usual stuff in there :)

In this game, we play as the members of a small independent mercenary group in the Mass Effect universe. We’ll go on missions doing escorts, raids, rescues and all sorts of exciting stuff. In addition, you may pursue intrigues of your own during the downtime between jobs. Together we will explore the galaxy and find our place in it.

Interested? Great! We’ll get started once we net a few people.

Also, feel free to comment or ask below if you’ve got any thoughts or questions about the game.

Looking forward to playing with you!
Sorry, gonna drop out of this. IRL stuff is getting in the way.
There really isn't much for an exploration officer to do when you aren't actively exploring anything. You can prepare yourself and your equipment, of course, but when you've done that, what then? If this line of work demands anything of you, it's that you have a hobby. A time-consuming, limitless hobby. With that you will endure all the downtime between missions and mission reports. If you don't, however, you're in for a real treat.

Colleen, as it happens, doesn't have such a hobby. She's kept herself busy with learning and studying new things on the ship for the past months, but boredom is slowly sneaking up on her. When the captain notifies the crew of the distress call, Colleen feels like dancing. "Finally!" she cheers in the solace of her small room, making a security officer passing by outside raise an eyebrow.

Colleen sits herself down for the directional alteration and spends the coming 60 minutes thinking through possible scenarios they could be facing.
Non-humanoid aliens would be welcome. Just so that we don't turn into Mass Effect ;)
Outstanding. IC post pending.
