I know XD

I just had them cancel each other out. Made things easier. (although in this scenario I considered the crit to have just a small bit more power, even though a 0 and 99 are the BEST and WORST possible rolls you could get on the die (XD seriously, they are)

Normally I wouldn't have posted that cancelled roll, but I felt like I had to. Cause it was just that bullshit.
Mike Sword Strike: 12 - 2 Melee Weaponry - 8 Skill Bonus = 2

Hit!

Damage Dealt: 1

Mike Focus: 52 - 25 Focus - 10 Hit Bonus = 17
Mike was wrong to have doubt in himself. The strike was quite well executed, the Katana Mastery Skill helping him better gain control over his blade to somewhat cover for his lack of physical strength. Still Mike would need to build up some physical strength, which meant putting points into Str, if he wanted to wield a sword properly, Dex as well, the skill managing to barely cover for the poor quality of those two stats. Still the attack struck home, hitting Keiichi on the shoulder. Granted it only made him tense up a bit and probably didn't do much damage, being able to hit him with the sword in which he focused his will and spirit through helped him better grasp attacking a foe with a weapon that wasn't just a weapon, but an extension of not only his body, but his very self.

Keiichi smirked as he had barely managed to miss parrying the attack, stepping back and looking at Mike, looking impressed. "That was good. I felt your will, your conviction, and all else in your strike. Although lay back on the self doubt, as I could feel that in there. The fact that I could feel all of that in your strike means that you have well grasped how to attack while focusing your everything into your sword. Yes, the Senshin no Ken involves placing every bit of yourself into your sword, as when you give your all to your sword it gives all back to you. It is how you unify yourself with your blade. But now that you have grasped this to further understand you must get hit by the same thing..."

Keiichi took a stance, focusing himself. An aura appeared around his body and around his sword, but the somewhat yellowish-greenish aura seemed to be emanating not just from his body, but from his own bokken as well, as if the wooden sword was a true part of his very being instead of just something that he was holding. "Try to block...as I won't be holding back..."

Of course, Keiichi wouldn't go for a killing blow, as it was a bokken after all, although he didn't know about the HP part of Mike's power, or about Mike's power at all actually, but since Keiichi would probably be holding back in the sense of not having any intent to kill then Mike should be fine.

Nonetheless, Keiichi waited for Mike to get himself focused and ready to try and take on his attack.
Keiichi watched as Mike sat down on his knees to meditate, holding the sword in both hands, which in Keiichi's opinion was a good way to practice meditating with the blade.
Mike Meditation: 32 - 25 Focus = 7
Meditation seemed alot easier, Mike able to focus his thoughts in and through the blade as Keiichi instructed. Obviously the best learning would come from practicing with the sword while focusing, but through practicing focusing his thoughts, self, and being into the blade while sitting there would give a bit of a feel of how to do it while swinging it. Keiichi would tell Mike to stop after a good ten minutes have passed, Mike recovering a bit of his stamina during the meditation. "That's good enough. I can tell by the subtle shifts of your hold on the blade and by a few other things that you seem to have a better understanding of how to focus upon it while practicing."

After Mike had finished his meditation three windows also appeared in front of him.

It seemed that from this that Skills could be updated or upgraded, which was something useful.

Keiichi, not knowing that any of these windows were appearing, offered a hand to help Mike up. Once he was standing Keiichi took a few steps back. "Now then, I want you to practice once again. 100 more swings as you did before.
Mike Vit: 0 (Critical)

Mike Focus: 99 (Fumble)

(Both of them Cancel each other out, so reroll time)

Mike Vit: 41 - 15 Vitality +10 Crit Bonus = 16

Mike Focus: 57 - 25 Focus - 10 Meditation Usage bonus = 22
The first few couple of swings were strange. Mike's stamina did not give out, but his mind was off, as if he got an extreme headache from a temporary complete loss of focus. Thankfully he was able to bear through the pain of this sudden and almost migraine inducing headache to shrug it off after the first few couple of swings to quickly restart once again. With a small burst of that vitality to go upon the task seemed a bit easier, especially with the meditation earlier. Mike seemed to begin to develop an understanding of it, pouring more of his spirit, mind, and self into the blade, becoming one with the blade more with each swing, Keiichi watching the entire time.

While indeed there was no way the unity was perfect, it was still quite excellent nonetheless. While it didn't net another free point of Str, as that took alot of effort and time to farm free stat points, something that probably getting two in a single day or even in two days was not easy, Mike did get another couple of levels in Katana Mastery. After his swings were done Mike would have a grasp of what Keiichi was trying to teach, a rather firm grasp, Keiichi giving a small nod of approval. "I could feel you putting more of your self and your will into those slashes. You seem to have a firm grasp on the basic principle of the Senshin no Ken. This is only just a grasp though, you seem to have yet to realize this principle within your self. Still though... you seem to be a rather quick learner... that is quite impressive."

Keiichi picked up his own Bokken, getting into a stance. "I want you to strike at me now, using all that I have taught you. Only by striking at me with your will and spirit through your sword, and attempting to block my own spirit and will within my blade with your own can you attain the realization of the basics of the principle of the Senshin no Ken. Yes... this way you can take that step onto the road, for right now you have not even set a single foot on what is a very long and arduous journey..."

With that, Keiichi got into a stance and waited for Mike's attack.
Mike Vitality: 24 - 15 Vitality= 11

Mike Focus: 44 - 25 Focus = 19
Swinging the Bokken proved to be surprisingly harder than it looked. One time may have seen simple, but twice. A third time, a fourth time... Doing it twenty continuous times with such little physical strength while attempting to focus one's mind on the blade was difficult. Still, Mike's focus stayed strong the entire time and he managed to pull through after the twentieth swing, somewhat tired, but able to continue. Mike was able to feel the sword with each swing. Its weight, its strength. He was able to also feel his focus becoming a part of the blade with each swing, but it seemed that nothing had come yet except maybe a slightly better understanding of what Keiichi was trying to teach.

Two windows did appear though, two familiar looking windows.

"Good. You seem to understand what I am trying to teach here. I could feel you put your focus into each swing, which made them stronger than normal. Of course, while I do know that physical strength isn't everything I do recommend building it up, but that will come with the training over time." Keiichi looked Mike over for a few moments, but just a few. "Alright. Give me 100. Take your time with it. Focus your body, mind, and spirit into the blade. With each swing you are not just swinging a sword, but you are swinging and attacking with an extension of yourself. Through training with the sword you are training yourself."

If Mike had any questions Keiichi would answer them, but other than that he would watch Mike as began his long drill of 100 swings of the bokken. Luckily with the ability to take his time Mike wouldn't be too hard pressed to get them within a time limit. Still, sitting down to rest would probably break the stream of his focus, so getting them all in a single period period would probably be more for the best.
Mike Vit: 26 - 15 Vitality = 6

Mike Focus: 84 - 25 Focus = 69
While Mike was able to perform the swings, this taking around five minutes or so, perhaps it was the tedium of performing a hundred in a row, but he wasn't able to properly put his focus into them in the way that Keiichi was implying, Keiichi watching this. The Katana Mastery Skill did go up in Level during the many swings and a window did appear stating the following.

His Str did get upgraded from this, but after the 100 he would be a good bit tired now. It would still probably be a good idea to put some of his next Stat Points into both Str and Dex, maybe until they were at least 10 so that he could properly wield the katana and learn kendo to the fullest extent of his ability. Keiichi shook his head after Mike was done. "You seem to have gotten it before, but the concept is still evading you. Continuing to swing anymore will just tire you out excessively... instead I want you to rest and meditate with your blade, get a better feeling for focusing while holding it. Maybe that will help you better your practice."
Posted for Mike finally. Note that, unfortunately, Keiichi isn't gonna take Mike into a Pseudospace to fight monsters no matter how hard Mike tries to convince him (Keiichi would not think him as ready to use his skills on monsters yet)
After school if Mike went down to the Kendo Team's practice room, which looked like an actual dojo on the inside as it was in the part of the building where the gym and other athletics rooms were, he would see Keiichi waiting there, on his knees with his bokken on the floor in front of him. Currently he had his eyes closed, a serious aura around him as if he was meditating. Despite that though he looked completely ready and focused, as if he could spot any attack that came towards him and block it despite the position he was sitting in. "Ah, you showed up." Keiichi spoke with his eyes still closed, but slowly he opened them and stood up, taking his bokken into hand as he did so.

"Take off your shoes before you enter the dojo. Also there is no kendo practice today since the team just had a match this weekend and deserve a break, so it'll just be you and me today. You will meet the rest of the team tomorrow. In the meantime you will spend the rest of this afternoon learning the basics of kendo as before you can learn the Senshin no Ken. Even if you have conviction you still need discipline and strength. Also an understanding of the sword is required, so..." He went over to a rack on the wall where several Bokkens were kept, Keiichi grabbing one that was more Mike's size, which he passed to Mike.

It seemed a bit heavy in Mike's hand, which was probably due to his strength of 2, but he could somewhat hold it properly without detriment to his combat ability, but higher physical strength would make it easier to wield more efficiently. "Now then, get into a stance like this...and hold the bokken as so." Keiichi got into a stance now, a stance for kendo. After taking a deep breath and closing his eyes for a few moments he focused before suddenly opening his eyes and swinging the blade with a strong, downward slash, alot of speed and power behind it.

"I want you to perform 20 of them. How long it takes you to perform twenty swings is not important. You must focus and unite yourself with your sword in every strike. That is the first principle of the Senshin no Ken. Unity with the blade. Your body, mind, and spirit all must be one with the sword. It is not only an extension of your body, but an extension of your very spirit. Of your very self. As such you must swing the blade not only with your body, but with your mind and even your spirit as well. For now though... just focus on the blade as you swing... feel its movement and feel its weight in your hand, it may seem heavy, but eventually the blade, as you become one with it, will feel lighter in your grasp."

After that explanation Keiichi stood, watching Mike. "Are there any questions?"
"The wind talked to you eh... that's pretty impressive. The powers of Nature can be pretty impressive. I prefer magic personally, but still you should find the powers of Nature very useful. Of course, they can also be dangerous if you're not careful, but so can any other form of power including Magic." He then looked at the Crystal in Lucian's hand, nodding. "I think you managed to perform the ritual well enough so that the Crystal wasn't used up, but next time you might have to use its power. Well if you need anymore of those you know where to come and find them." Saito chuckled a little at this, stretching some as he stood up, stretching a bit. When he heard Lucian saying that they should go check up on Ren he nodded and took Lucian back outside of the Pseudospace room and into the shop.

After that he pressed his ring to the door so that it would go to the lab and the ritual room, Saito opening the door and walking inside with Lucian. Inside of the circle in the center of the room was where Ren was sitting, bandages wrapped around the back of his hand. He was currently on his PFP, headphones plugged in. He had taken his jacket off, wearing just his grey shirt, and other clothes obviously, as to get comfortable. When he noticed Lucian and Saito entering the room he looked up at them, slowly standing up, putting his jacket back on and his PFP back in his inventory. "I was taking a bit of a break, I take it things went well." Ren looked at Saito, then up at Lucian, noticing that Lucian's level had increased.

Saito nodded. "Yep. Managed to get some interesting Air Crystals and this guy leveled up twice apparently. Also discovered that if I am in your party, I get EXP as well... which is interesting to say the least. Shows that your power is even more broken than I originally thought." He looked at the two of them now as Ren stood up. "So I take it you two are satisfied with your products?"

To this question Ren nodded. Saito noticed the bandages on Ren's hand but chose to stay quiet.

"Anyway..." Saito walked over to the bookshelf he put the Spirit Channeling for Dummies on and walked back over to Lucian, handing him the book. "If you want this one you can have it, ill just put it on your tab and you can pay me back in full in either cash or more monster drops. It'll be about a 60,000 Yen tab payable in whatever means you can if you want it, like in more of these or whatever else you find that seems interesting" He held up one of the Air Crystals, walking over to an empty jar on a shelf and putting the eight Crystals he received into the jar. "Also if any of your other Gamer Friends, as according to what's circulating on the auction there are five of you, want some books or other special stuff tell them to drop on by with either cool monster drops or cash. Anyway, I have to go soon and close up shop, its starting to get somewhat late. Any questions or anything else you want?"

Ren thought for a few moments, shaking his head. "Not really, thanks for the help." After that rather... brief... statement of thanks Ren began to walk out of the room, heading towards the exit of the store and walking out, waiting outside of the store as he began to slowly and secretively type up another PM.

"Not really much of a people person is he..." Saito sighed and shook his head, looking to Lucian. "What about you? Any questions you have? Or is there anything else you want?"
XD
Also there is that discount you guys get if you use the name of the Dealer who talked to Ren, but he hasn't told them about that yet XD
Nah, I just make up half of this stuff on the spot. XD
