Also posted for Mike. He should be caught up with the others in terms of time now (as he was still in school for a little while during everyone else's training)

And waiting on Bio and then Val.
Keiichi listened to Mike's explanation, clearly being confused by nearly all of it but he did not show it at all. Keiichi was not a gamer by any means. Games were a waste of time and took time away from studies and school activities. Still, he could tell that Mike wasn't bullshitting him, as he had a very keen sense for lies. "Well if that is true, other than the obvious pain... you seem fine, and if what you say is true that could explain why. Still, I've never heard of an Ability that makes someone like a videogame character... sounds quite... interesting to say the least." Keiichi checked the time. They still had a bit of time left, but figured that this was enough for the day.

"Well you should get going home. Do your homework and get some rest. There's no club practice tomorrow, so you'll be coming after school here and I shall begin teaching you the first technique of the Senshin no Ken" He then looked to the Bokken that Mike was holding. "You may keep that. Use it to practice whenever you are not able to practice here. I just don't want to see you carrying it around during school or using it against others for unneeded violence. Do you have any questions? If not, then you are dismissed for the day and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow."

He then gave a polite, serious bow. "Welcome to the Kendo Team. Let us work well together." After that he stood up. "I'll lock up, so you go ahead and head on home." After saying this he went into the back room to check everything so that he could lock up the Kendo Team's room.
I know. But just saying that he suddenly felt fine from a blow that makes a sledgehammer seem nice is a bit much. You don't have to edit it, but its just for future references. Your body doesn't get damaged, but all attacks still hurt like normal and getting hit with that blow would leave anyone sore and hurt for a long while.
Nah, Mike would still be in pain until his HP heals (although the pain might lessen as he gets used to it, until his 'wounds, aka HP, heals, he will be hurtin like hell for a while)
And I was hoping we would get to see what happens when someone hits below 0 HP ;3

Stupid lucky rolls for Focus XD

Jk, jk. If its a non-lethal held back blow then it would be like a duel in an MMO. You can only get reduced to 1 HP. Mike currently has 25 HP left as he pretty much just lost 3/4ths of his HP in one hit.

A tank he is not (which is why STR is important. You need to build that shit up and put points in it if you are gonna do melee, otherwise your melee attacks will be crap and do crap. Also you will not be able to advance in the Senshin no Ken properly, thought I should mention that. I recommend getting Str and Dex to 10 first using some of your next stat points from level ups.
Once Mike was ready Keiichi nodded, the aura emanating from him growing more intense and powerful as he focused more. After that he suddenly went forward...
Keiichi's Strike: ???

Hit!

Mike Focus: 34 - 25 Focus = 9

Damage Dealt: 70
The attack HURT. Alot. But with Mike's focus he could feel Keiichi's entire spirit through hhis sword colliding with his own. Mike could easily tell that Keiichi's own spirit was much more powerful than his own as the attack hit his midsection in an upward somewhat diagonal slash that was as if he was drawing his sword from a sheath in that type of slashing motion, substituting his other hand for the sheath since with a bokken he didn't have one. The slash was so quick and powerful though that Mike couldn't really see this. As one moment Keiichi was standing there. The next Mike felt the sword slash.

Even if Mike was able to somewhat block the attack with his own being, feeling as though the everything that he was putting into his sword was also strengthening himself, he still easily got knocked back, the slash being powerful enough to throw him backwards across the floor and take out nearly all of his HP, probably all of it if it hadn't been for not only his focused state of self helping to block, but also his Resilience stat as well. Needless to say, a Tank, Mike was not. Keiichi looked at Mike, relaxing a bit as he walked over to him, offering a hand to help him up.

"While I said I wouldn't hold back, I did not. That was the full power of my spirit and sword in its base form... as if I had used anymore you probably wouldn't be conscious right now... still..." he looked at Mike, somewhat curious after helping the badly damaged Mike up. "That attack looked like it should have broken bones... yet you seem fine. I felt some of your spirit blocking the attack... but other than probably being pretty badly hurt... you don't seem broken anywhere... what sort of power do you have?" Keiichi looked curious for a few moments, but just shook his head.

"It does not matter... you can tell me if you want to, yet you do not need to. For now you seem to understand and have realized the basic principle of the Senshin no Ken. While you have a long way to go, for now you have taken the first step. Congratulations. How do you feel?" He chuckled a small bit after saying that. "Aside from the obvious actually."

In the meantime, a bit after Mike would finally get his bearings after enduring an attack that probably made a sledgehammer somewhat of a playful shove, a window would appear. Followed by a second one.

Another window also appeared after that.

I know XD

I just had them cancel each other out. Made things easier. (although in this scenario I considered the crit to have just a small bit more power, even though a 0 and 99 are the BEST and WORST possible rolls you could get on the die (XD seriously, they are)

Normally I wouldn't have posted that cancelled roll, but I felt like I had to. Cause it was just that bullshit.
Mike Sword Strike: 12 - 2 Melee Weaponry - 8 Skill Bonus = 2

Hit!

Damage Dealt: 1

Mike Focus: 52 - 25 Focus - 10 Hit Bonus = 17
Mike was wrong to have doubt in himself. The strike was quite well executed, the Katana Mastery Skill helping him better gain control over his blade to somewhat cover for his lack of physical strength. Still Mike would need to build up some physical strength, which meant putting points into Str, if he wanted to wield a sword properly, Dex as well, the skill managing to barely cover for the poor quality of those two stats. Still the attack struck home, hitting Keiichi on the shoulder. Granted it only made him tense up a bit and probably didn't do much damage, being able to hit him with the sword in which he focused his will and spirit through helped him better grasp attacking a foe with a weapon that wasn't just a weapon, but an extension of not only his body, but his very self.

Keiichi smirked as he had barely managed to miss parrying the attack, stepping back and looking at Mike, looking impressed. "That was good. I felt your will, your conviction, and all else in your strike. Although lay back on the self doubt, as I could feel that in there. The fact that I could feel all of that in your strike means that you have well grasped how to attack while focusing your everything into your sword. Yes, the Senshin no Ken involves placing every bit of yourself into your sword, as when you give your all to your sword it gives all back to you. It is how you unify yourself with your blade. But now that you have grasped this to further understand you must get hit by the same thing..."

Keiichi took a stance, focusing himself. An aura appeared around his body and around his sword, but the somewhat yellowish-greenish aura seemed to be emanating not just from his body, but from his own bokken as well, as if the wooden sword was a true part of his very being instead of just something that he was holding. "Try to block...as I won't be holding back..."

Of course, Keiichi wouldn't go for a killing blow, as it was a bokken after all, although he didn't know about the HP part of Mike's power, or about Mike's power at all actually, but since Keiichi would probably be holding back in the sense of not having any intent to kill then Mike should be fine.

Nonetheless, Keiichi waited for Mike to get himself focused and ready to try and take on his attack.
Keiichi watched as Mike sat down on his knees to meditate, holding the sword in both hands, which in Keiichi's opinion was a good way to practice meditating with the blade.
Mike Meditation: 32 - 25 Focus = 7
Meditation seemed alot easier, Mike able to focus his thoughts in and through the blade as Keiichi instructed. Obviously the best learning would come from practicing with the sword while focusing, but through practicing focusing his thoughts, self, and being into the blade while sitting there would give a bit of a feel of how to do it while swinging it. Keiichi would tell Mike to stop after a good ten minutes have passed, Mike recovering a bit of his stamina during the meditation. "That's good enough. I can tell by the subtle shifts of your hold on the blade and by a few other things that you seem to have a better understanding of how to focus upon it while practicing."

After Mike had finished his meditation three windows also appeared in front of him.

It seemed that from this that Skills could be updated or upgraded, which was something useful.

Keiichi, not knowing that any of these windows were appearing, offered a hand to help Mike up. Once he was standing Keiichi took a few steps back. "Now then, I want you to practice once again. 100 more swings as you did before.
Mike Vit: 0 (Critical)

Mike Focus: 99 (Fumble)

(Both of them Cancel each other out, so reroll time)

Mike Vit: 41 - 15 Vitality +10 Crit Bonus = 16

Mike Focus: 57 - 25 Focus - 10 Meditation Usage bonus = 22
The first few couple of swings were strange. Mike's stamina did not give out, but his mind was off, as if he got an extreme headache from a temporary complete loss of focus. Thankfully he was able to bear through the pain of this sudden and almost migraine inducing headache to shrug it off after the first few couple of swings to quickly restart once again. With a small burst of that vitality to go upon the task seemed a bit easier, especially with the meditation earlier. Mike seemed to begin to develop an understanding of it, pouring more of his spirit, mind, and self into the blade, becoming one with the blade more with each swing, Keiichi watching the entire time.

While indeed there was no way the unity was perfect, it was still quite excellent nonetheless. While it didn't net another free point of Str, as that took alot of effort and time to farm free stat points, something that probably getting two in a single day or even in two days was not easy, Mike did get another couple of levels in Katana Mastery. After his swings were done Mike would have a grasp of what Keiichi was trying to teach, a rather firm grasp, Keiichi giving a small nod of approval. "I could feel you putting more of your self and your will into those slashes. You seem to have a firm grasp on the basic principle of the Senshin no Ken. This is only just a grasp though, you seem to have yet to realize this principle within your self. Still though... you seem to be a rather quick learner... that is quite impressive."

Keiichi picked up his own Bokken, getting into a stance. "I want you to strike at me now, using all that I have taught you. Only by striking at me with your will and spirit through your sword, and attempting to block my own spirit and will within my blade with your own can you attain the realization of the basics of the principle of the Senshin no Ken. Yes... this way you can take that step onto the road, for right now you have not even set a single foot on what is a very long and arduous journey..."

With that, Keiichi got into a stance and waited for Mike's attack.
