Also yea, that folks is why War Horses are incredibly useful and expensive. DL 25 Riding Roll to stay in control of them if you ride them into battle otherwise you are either paralyzed for a turn, sent off running in the opposite direction, or thrown to the ground while your horse runs away.

you could also get them as Uncommon animal companions (that way they know a few tricks as well and are more easily handled by yourself).

when magic gets more advanced, may also introduce a Familiar Trait and make it possible to make a Bestial Companion your Familiar (so this way you don't have two animals to take care of).

Also, realized one thing. It may be possible to get Criticals without getting a 20 (like if the DL for something is 15 and you have a 19 score for the Roll, you Roll a 16 on the dice, boom, 20 above DL, equals a critical). The XP bonus from getting a Critical only counts if you roll a 20 on the dice. You can still get a critical just from your score itself and the dice beating the DL by 20, but you don't get an extra point of XP unless you get a natural 20.

So yea, that takes care of that if anyone is wondering.

Also, realized something. If Leifr also rides off after them, Allereun would be the only one who didn't mount and who didn't untether his horse, meaning that, since he had his turn, after Leifr acts, its munchie munch time on Allereun ;3

When Allereun kicked the fire he would hurt his foot a bit, but not much since they were mostly hot embers. Sure it would sting somewhat with how hot they were, but no serious burn. When kicked a few of the bedrolls caught flame and the fire made the area a bit brighter, so the creatures, five yards away, were a bit more visible. While they weren't completely visible, it was clear that these... things... were not any bandits, wolves, or anything else. Unfortunately though the fire did not seem to deter them in the slightest, as great a strategy as it was.

Sure it probably would keep them away from that exact spot so they could use it as a bit of cover maybe, but judging from reactions of these beasts to the bedrolls catching fire they were not afraid of fire like many animals were. It was still unclear to everyone what these beasts were, but judging from the smell it was clear that indeed getting out of here to a better defended spot was the best idea, especially with Fiore's horse having fled the scene.

For Vialesa, who was moving more quickly now, she was still a good thirty or so yards away, unable to see what was going on still since it was dark, but it was clear that something was happening up ahead.
