As they talked and planned about what to do about the approaching threat of the monsters it came clear that they probably weren't all that too far behind anymore. The horses outside began to grow a little restless, their sense of smell probably greater than that of a Galmin's, small whinnies and grunts being heard from their beasts of burden outside of the hut, who could probably tell that the beasts would be there soon, or perhaps already were somewhere outside the camp, looking for a way in.

In the meantime, Vialesa began to try and climb the Palisade fence that surrounded the camp, having taken a bit of a more direct and shorter path to get to it rather than having just bolted in the general direction of the camp as those on horseback had, allowing her around the time the party had gotten into the hut and were a bit into their own conversations about what to do about the creatures approaching the camp. Unfortunately it would be a bit of a hard climb since the large wooden spikes didn't really have any footholds or places to grab onto nor was she that physically strong in the first place. Still, it was indeed worth a shot.

Soon enough she would begin to climb up one of the large wooden pole, that had a top that was sharpened to a point, finding a little difficulty in doing so, but soon enough she was indeed halfway up the about ten to fifteen foot tall pole in the Palisade fence. By the time the horses became a bit restless... she barely managed to climb up the rest of the way, but now came the problem of descending without hurting herself since it was around a ten to fifteen foot drop, having gotten up there about a few seconds after the horses, not that she could see or know this from her position, began to grow restless around the hut the main group was in.

Still, upon looking in from her position atop the spiked wooden mast in the Palisade she could see that the camp was very deserted, except for a single flickering light inside that northern hut that was coming from the open door that Leifr was standing in, not that she could see him. That meant that there was indeed somebody there... probably. Fortunately no one could see Vialesa up there as of yet.
That's even if she gets to use her magic. Those monsters aren't exactly gonna give her a chance to draw the symbols and the lines from the symbols to each weapon. It'd probably take two... maybe three rounds with this whole 'circuit' thing she is trying to set up.

Did I mention that magic isn't exactly a combative art in this world at this time XD

Its for more practical uses (lots of practical uses that can include opening doors, moving fire, stirring winds, moving distant objects that you can see, and other such things). Its an art of knowledge, not of power.

Sorcery has more combat use, but it also drains a bit more energy and sometimes Vitality depending upon what you are trying to do.

Also on Keia's comment on necromancy and summoning... those things may or may not exist already, but not necessarily as magic. (sure as hell doesn't mean it couldn't be done with magic)
Still, you just have to make sure nobody steps on the line, otherwise it won't work (and doing the line thing will also take a bit more energy, not to mention you can only activate it on your turn).

Still, launching a sword or spear as though it were an arrow or other projectile from a ballista (those giant, crossbow seige weapon like things, only this probably won't have as much power) can still pack a punch. The two short spears in the hut though are probably the best for this (since they are already considered throwing weapons, swords really aren't meant for throwing contrary to popular belief)

She is Half-Scientist, Half-Mage, and Half-Literature Enthusiast. Of course it should be Sciency. Separate note, has anyone come up with the idea of "Magicircuits" (as I will now call them) by this point in time?

Sceince? You are literally drawing lines on the ground, nothing really scientific about that XD

Anyway, moving on to RP related things. . . Could Lyrisa draw up an arcane circuit (like making lines from the symbol to the weapon)? Or would that not be a thing?

Hmmm....

She could, would make it easier, but would still make the Energy cost a bit higher depending upon how long the line is (like are you going to use it while inside the hut?)

Also just to make sure you know this, but when I mean place the weapon(s) you want to launch on the ground, I do mean angle them up a little bit (think of a Ballista or a cannon or something. Gotta be aimed properly right). Your magic won't aim it for you, it'll just launch them, so unless you want them sliding on the ground, you do need to angle them up somewhat somehow.

Which is the thing about Arcane Craft here, there are all kinds of cool shit you can do, but just going on whims, some things can take a little longer. Now eventually you can come across scrolls, tomes, or other things that hold secrets to help make certain things easier, but those will come a bit later on (or you could experiment yourself during down time).
O.O

All of this MOBA and League and DOTA talk is going straight over my head (has never played League before, ever).

Seriously, stahp XD

Spreakin ze king's Japanese man, come on.

Movement-based magic uses the power of the world to move things...So, is this either Accelerator-esque, where you temporarily stop the rotation of the Earth and use that gathered energy to throw a building, or is this Thor-esque, where you alter the rotation of the world relative to your own position in order to move from place to place?

O.o

Nothing godly like either of those.

You just call bring forth the power of the energy of the world and use it really, in this case 'affecting' the weapons that are upon the ground and thus a part of the world to make them move. Nothing weird like that XD

I want her to be useful, so I want to use Magical weaponry. WTB Bladecraft skin. Anyhow, should I just mention that she puts weapons outside and write the runes/symbols? How does one activate the runes/symbols? Magical link? I'm excited to see what they're going to do to her afterward.

You could draw it with charcoal, ink, a stick in the dirt, etc (for your case, I said you had some stuff for drawing, so you would use some charcoal on the wooden floor of this hut). You activate the rune by simply drawing it, then touching it. You also have to be able to see what you are affecting, so unless you can see the weapon(s) you are putting outside (and they have to be relatively close to the symbol for your needs, although they can be further away, the further away something is from the symbol the higher the DL and Energy Cost of the magic attempt)

Also what the deuce is WTB Bladecraft Skin
So yea, from inside the hut you cannot affect the stakes outside since you cannot see them. Doing the launch weapons like arrows at foes is a much easier task (one at a time being easier, but you could attempt to launch several at once, although that would take more energy and be a bit more difficult in terms of the needed symbols)

What about magic that can make the giant wooden stakes of the palisade around the encampment launch into the air and home in on the monsters? Like anti-vampire surface-to-surface missiles, only smaller and powered by magic.

That could be possible, but as her magic is now it would take a miracle roll of getting at least two twenties and would take a shit ton of energy (probably draining/killing her instantly)

She could make one individual stake do that if they weren't tied together, but she would have to draw the symbols on the actual object or the ground near it.

Alternatively, she could use one of the weapons in the hut (there are a couple of spears, two shortswords, and a broadsword. They are in somewhat decent shape) and launch that by placing it on the ground and drawing the symbol(s) needed next to the weapon.

For movement based magic it is essentially using the power of the world to move things, so while all of these are possible, moving bigger/more/heavier objects would take more energy and be alot harder to do. (note that its not honing, its just sort of like having the world chuck it for you, so having them rise from the ground and then be launched would be a totally different ball game, as that is like levitation and stuff like that XD)
So from which direction is Vialesa approaching the encampment?

Cause depending upon your answer you could, or could not, become monster food.
