Since they are low level as you mentioned in your post where Belle and Thomas fought them then they could have been instantly dispatched by Reno this way.

And yea, she should since they only just met. I don't really mind if you don't use Japanese honorifics (like if your chara is a foreigner and doesn't fully know the culture), but it does help with the setting.
