I've thought about it, and decided to make it a bit like Wizardry Online where Titles do stack since they give relatively small affects and they aren't exactly easy to acquire.

Reading Speed: 50 - 24 Knowledge = 26
Comprehension: 98 (Fumble)
Despite mike's decent reading speed, he understood nothing which he read, and no matter how hard he tried or how long he tried, he understood jack squat and spent literally all of the morning in frustration (or however you want Mike to take his inability to get the book) trying to understand it.
Do with this in your next post as you will (you still get the afternoon), but I am going to go ahead and post now.

No, not done by today. I doubt she'd actually be able to use them now. Besides, they can be seen as her welcome into the Ban Family.
Yea. They would be somewhat strong. Probably not as powerful as the actual axe is, but alot better than the crappy ones your character has.
Also, just thought i'd like to mention, but it is possible for the blacksmith to fail and if he fails badly enough, he could destroy the axe in the process. Just a bit of fair warning.
