You can try...

But lemme just tell you, it either won't work, or would take literally hours (the barrier is a bit special, Keiko did put it up to keep you guys out after all, so it has pretty high resistances to damage, you'll have to deal alot of damage at once repeatedly instead of just alot over time).

Keep firing it and it would break after well... well after the boss fight is over.

Or when Keiko dies.

But right now, I recommend trying something else. Probably a good time to bust out something new.
Feel free to post yourself Val ;3
Sumato and Mushi were the first to start the search, searching around the room for any hints or clues as to what buttons should be pressed. Mushi, through his searching, didn't really find much of anything. Sumato, on the other hand, seemed to be much better at spotting things than Mushi did. As she looked around, she would spot something incredibly hard to see. A tiny button on the base of the wall, something that one would have to be looking at quite closely to see, yet with her keen eyes and sharp mind, she was able to see it and spot it as a button that could be pressed since it blended into the room quite well.

Whether or not she chose to press it is up to her, but it could reveal a clue. It could also be dangerous and be part of a trap as well, so whether or not it should be pressed would be up to her, or the rest of the party if she told them about it.
Yea... this guy is kinda...

Well...

Anyway, I posted.
And we have a Puzzle Room now. You can either haphazardly try to guess a combination (and a single button is a combination) or look around the room for clues.

Its up to you.
Lucian Negotiation: 2 (Critical Success)
This was certainly a pleasant surprise. "Hmm, instead of attacking the criminal indirectly responsible for the death of one of your friends, you instead decide to sit and chat with him".

Ren's eyes widened as this was said, and the Blank Mage clearly took notice as he raised his hand over his mouth in a sarcastic manner.

"Oops, did I say that? Yea, that one girl... Erica was it? She's dead, done in by those tainted spirits I had set up as traps. Shame that the body just... disappeared though, it would have been excellent experimental material". The man gave a smirk, lowering his own hands for now. He was clearly amused by Lucian's attempts at negotiating, so he decided to humor Lucian and 'negotiate'.

"What, you're Enforcer friends didn't tell you? Guess they didn't think you could handle the truth, the truth that you all have no power". The man waved his hand, a chair appearing out of nowhere as he sat upon it, three chairs appearing for the Gamers as well.

"But I digress. In truth, your feeble and naive attempts at negotiating amuse me to no end, so I think i'll humor them and let you buy all of the time you need". This man was no idiot by any means, and had clearly seen through part of Lucian's ruse.

"The truth is, i'm not entirely all that interested in you Gamers. While yes, you'd all make nice little prizes as experimental material... right now you all are too weak to mean anything. you have an interesting power and a few unique connections for ones as weak as all of you". He made sure to put an emphasis on 'weak' there. "If I truly had wanted you, I would have sent better men then those two idiotic small fry after you".

Ren clenched his fist, but remained calm. So those two Hunters were small fry after all. That was a pleasing thought, to be nearly killed by small fry twice, despite having them outnumbered.

"But I digress, once again. As I mentioned before, i'm not after you three. This place is merely a base to take down a much... bigger prize, but since you are up for negotiating, lets talk business, shall we?" He gave a pleasant, yet not so pleasant smile that would send chills up anyone's spine. It was a smile that was disguised to be pleasant, but hid obvious nefarious intent.

"If there's anything I would want from you all... its your bodies, plain and simple. Normally I would just..." he suddenly vanished, reappearing right in Lucian's face, his own face inches away from his as in a tone oozing with slime he whispered 'kill you..." before vanishing and reappearing back in his own seat. "But it appears from your dearly departed Erica, that killing you makes your body go 'poof'", and to demonstrate a point he made the common hand gesture appropriate with said expression. "So i'll strike you a deal. Ill let you live, and promise to make your experiments as painless as possible... if you join me and serve me. Its as simple as that".

He suddenly snapped his fingers, three pieces of paper appearing before the three Gamers. "All you have to do is sign there... and ill spare your lives. Easy enough, right?" He now sat back, and awaited their individual responses.

Ren simply said nothing. He already knew his response, but wondered how Mike and Lucian were going to respond, because he really didn't want to have to fight both of them if their responses were different.
After the loot was split however it was being split, the group would have no choice but to move on lest they just wanted to sit there, which was a stupid idea. After this room was another hallway, but soon enough they reached the next room. Once all of them were inside the second room, the door closed behind them. Instead of enemies though, when the room lit up there were four stone stands in the middle of the room, each of them having a button upon it. It was clear that this was a puzzle room of some kind. A voice, like the one that gave them this quest, rang out to them.

"The previous room was a trial of skill. This room shall test thine aptitude. Press the switches before you in any combination, but be careful... only one will let you through while others may spell your doom..."

This was clearly a puzzle room, so while they could try pressing any button, or combination of buttons, they could also try and look around for a hint of some kind. Either way, just aimlessly pressing a button, or combination of buttons, would probably be a very stupid idea.
Assuming that both mages read their scrolls and wanted to learn them (which they both succeeded the Knowledge Roll needed if they wanted to do so).

And I think its time to move on. Going to assume that any leftover money is divided evenly if no one else says anything about it. Ill give everyone ten hours (as that will be noon for me) to post anything else they need to.

After that, it'll be time for the second room of the dungeon, with which you will be almost done once you all get to and clear that room. Originally it was going to be longer but... you all have been in there long enough.
Mushi began to pour over the scroll in detail now, hoping to gain the knowledge of the Flame Hands Spell. The scroll was quite detailed, and for some reason Mushi was just able to understand it. It felt as though his character's abilities really were his own. What his character could do, he could do. What qualities his character had was what he had. Instead of most games were you just went around as a character, instead it literally felt like Mushi and his character were one person, there being no difference between the two. It was quite a surreal sensation, one that all the players of this game would feel, the fact that there is no differentiation between them and their characters in this game.

It only took him a few minutes, but as he examined the scroll and went over the procedures for absorbing its knowledge and power, the scroll would begin to glow. It began to turn ethereal, its knowledge starting to flow into him as he was able to comprehend and understand it. The knowledge and power of the Fire Cantrip <Flame Hands> would begin to surface within him. After a few moments, the scroll, previously bathed in a soft, yellow light that flowed into him, was gone, and after that a window would appear before Mushi, followed by one more.

If Sumato was doing the same thing, she would feel the same things that Mushi was feeling. The scroll that she was pouring over glowing as the knowledge of the defensive arcane cantrip, <Magic Shield> was flowing into her. It was a bit different then the fiery spell of Flame Hands, not that she would know what that felt like. This was a magic of defense, of protection of self and possibly allies. When she was done literally absorbing power and knowledge from the scroll, it faded out of existence, two new windows appearing before her showing her the newly acquired Spell.

After the Mage's had learned their two new spells and whatever money there was divided up however the party wanted to divide it up, it would be time to move onward to the next room, there being nothing else here of interest besides the dead corpses of the enemies, which also had nothing else of interest upon them except for the Bombs, Money, and Scrolls.
She could still use the scroll if she wielded it as a Tome, but then she couldn't use Magic Bolt or any other spell really. I mean, there are Tome users or mages in general who will carry around Scrolls of specific spells that they can't use with their tomes or current types of magic (since as long as one has magical ability, they can use a Scroll if they are able to use that Level of Magic, like if you could cast Basic Intermediate Spells then you could use a Scroll containing one. You can currently cast Cantrips, so you can use a Scroll containing it).

I recommend that she takes Magic Shield so you can use both Magic Shield and Magic Bolt, so that she'll have attack and defense, but its really up to you what you want to do.

Note though that using it as a Scroll prevents it from leveling up and growing stronger as well, since you're just using it as an item and not a Skill that you know.
