I enjoy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but hold the peanut butter and jelly. Hate condiments on my sandwiches.

I’m particularly excited for meeting @Dog’s faction, there’s a lot of story potential there I feel. Especially early on. Not likely, though, unless NJ makes it to the sea.

Highwarren is the most likely first contact. Considering their conception of chivalry/honor and aversion to over-expansion, there probably won’t be too many problems. Though they do seem pretty alien from humans
@rezay Neither have I but I gotta say in a Non-Advanced format I really enjoy it because I don't have to worry about quantity over quality.

Agreed

The biggest internal conflict for the NJ going forward will certainly be religion. Because I’m still planning on doing some weird stuff with that. Most likely paths ATM are they will turn either into the Imperium of Man or the NCR.
@Dark CloudGood idea. I think I’m satisfied with my turn 1 post. Nothing too fancy for the moment, just getting things established. Working out the kinks. Have I mentioned I’ve never done NRP before? :P

Yeah the main thing that they're very aware of their own problems and limitations due to the Caretaker. The Myth of Utopia is a huge cultural influence that makes them constantly on guard for over expanding and turning cruel. By that reason, their own association with chivalry and honor is another subtle cultural safeguard to try and prevent them from slipping into the Skaven. Now that you've brought it up, I think I'm going to add that the word Skaven is actually a very heinous insult to the Ratkin meaning something like "cruel, hedonistic demon", another mythologized thing that the Caretaker once actually told them.

That sounds very interesting indeed! Can’t wait to meet the Under-Em-... I-I mean Kingdom of Highwarren
I have been thinking of adding more about NJ’s social hierarchy to the sheet. Sure, there’s the government, but there are a bunch of other factions and interests I have floating around in my head that I haven’t written down yet. I probably should.
@ClocktowerEchosHow would the ratkin view the Ogres, hm?? It seems like their first contacts will be them or the NJ, whatever form it takes at that point
@Dark CloudWell, the NJ is basically what it says on the tin at this moment. It’s nothing so grand, just a shantytown trying to reestablish human civilization. I’m going to play them as a faction which will develop most of their depth during the RP. The only defining features of their society is their ethno-linguistic foundation (primarily Anglo-Celtic) and their spirituality, which at this stage is very vague. They’re basically an infant, faction-wise. Probably one that will grow rapidly, given the present factors
@Dark CloudWould they like the MDR or NJ better?
@ClocktowerEchosSure! I’m quite interested in the ratkin* actually. Certainly seem different from something comparable, like the Skaven
