The desire to join an RP instead of run one, but the lack of anything being advertised or open that fits my interests

Why are people posting 1x1 'looking for' threads in the main section, when there's a whole section for 1x1 RP's?

It'd be nice to be able to *play* an RP I'm interested in for once, rather than having to *run* one all the time. Of course, doesn't help that I'm picky about what I enjoy.

Hmmmmm... PM inviting me to an RP on Discord by a user who just joined the site and has no posts? Doesn't sound iffy at all, no sir.

Bio

I've been roleplaying in one form or another since the late '90's. I've played as many tabletop games as I have online ones, and the quality of both has varied wildly.
I have an active imagination, and I love immersive, descriptive roleplaying. My genres of choice are sci-fi, and modern-day (with a sci-fi twist). I like RP's that mix reality with fiction, and throw an unusual and exciting twist into an otherwise normal setting - something like Stargate SG-1 would be an example, or Battle: Los Angeles. An almost recognizable world, but with some sci-fi twists.
I'm a fan of military and action-based RP's that do this especially, and they are easily my favourite - though I rarely see any that appeal to me enough - all the military RP's are too 'plain', and anything else modern day is usually fantasy or fandom. Or *shudder* school RPs...

I have a lot of fandoms; Transformers, Macross, MLP: FiM, Fallout, Battletech, Ace Combat, and others to varying degrees. But I don't often join fandom RPs because the ones I'm into don't come up, or I am very picky about my RPs and their plots and feel.

I don't play in free, as I find the short posts and bad spelling and grammar infuriating. I like a lot of depth, story, setting and character to my RPs, so am usually found in Casual and sometimes Advanced. Though, usually running my own RPs.

I'm 43 years old, and live in the UK, so I may not be on all the time.
I also like playing non-human characters, especially anthro ones, robots or synthetics, or some hybrid of both.

Outside of my RP tastes and hobby; I read a lot of books, play wargames and TTRPGs, make model aircraft and vehicles, and am also a brony and furry. I have been running a large local furmeet group for the last 10 years and have been involved in running a very successful UK MLP convention.

At least it'll hopefully be a consistent number, so I can plan things around actually having that many characters.
No worries, I know how it can be. Hope you get on top of whatever's come up, and you can get back to us at some point in the future.

Given that everyone else who 'joined' when I posted we needed more players never posted either, we're down to five-ish people again, and that's only if we still have Nautilus.

I might just leave it at the five/four of us, and carry on, since we seem to have a solid core. And hey, there were four Razgriz planes in AC5, and that worked out well...
In more interesting news than people not posting, I read this article earlier on, and thought it might be interesting info for the RP, and if you're interested in aircraft:

Nautilus and Freeshooter - neither of you have posted in the IC for more than three weeks. If you don't get a post up soon, I'll consider you both to have dropped out.

That's good to hear!Oddly, my left hand has been badly aching these past couple days. YOU GAVE IT TO ME. D:On a different note, I'm sorta bored with AC: Infinity. There's just not enough variety, and it would take 8,000 years to get any equipment better than what I currently have. I love the gameplay, but after playing the same few missions over and over and over it's gotten a little stale.

I GAEV U A COMPUTAH VIRUS! (from a physical injury, I know, sssshhhh ¬.¬)

And I totally hear you about Infinity as well. I really enjoyed the campaign, but according to various sources (including Kazuhisa Kondo's Twitter, apparently) Mission 8 is the last campaign mission, which is an amazingly shitty place to leave it with NO RESOLUTION OF ANY PLOT THREADS.
The multiplayer is just exceedingly repetitive, I agree. You have to have a high tolerance for playing the same maps and missions over and over to get anywhere, and even then - all you get is a better plane to do the same thing with.
It's more rewarding to go back and play the older games - I can play with the planes I want, on more interesting maps and with a storyline. And no kill-thieving dicks :P

ARGH YOUR POSTS ARE FINE, STOP WORRYING
The captain's explanation of a 'junker' lead Rowan's eyebrow to rise slightly. He nodded in affirmative at the mention of Victor's mobile suit. "I'm sure he'll change his mind if he sees my 'junk' suit in action. It's a long damn way from being obsolete, salvage, or worthless". He quietened down and listened in as the Captain explained more regarding the situation, his attention focused on the Captains' unveiling of his plan. As he continued to speak, Rowan found himself growing more enamoured of the man's command style and his personality that was part of it. The fact that he felt like he was finally getting somewhere helped as well, and he was eager to play a part in events.
"Dishonourable is such a relative term, sir. I prefer 'subterfuge', or 'misdirection'. And I'm sure I can play my part in this with ease. They sent me out as a scout after all; if I return with information gathered, then they'll have no reason to doubt it, particularly. Especially if I appeal to their egos and their sense of superiority. Where do you want me to send them, and how should I proceed if it succeeds, Sir?"

The long-haired pilot looked on intently, eager to be part of the operation and for it to be a resounding success, as much as he could make it happen. Planning and strategy, this was familiar territory, and something he could work with. Now, he was starting to feel at home, and a lot more useful.

Working off a whim here and making my own guesses though without any backup info from the GM BUT I GOT DIS

Not really sure what you wanted me to say, but I replied to your PM. Hopefully it'll help? o.0
Thanks - it seems to be getting better quickly, but I'll try to keep an eye on it and let it rest up as much as I can.
Good job on the post too, and thanks for getting that up.

I'll get another one up once there's a few more replies to my last one up.
My hand is in working order well enough that I could get a post up - hopefully this means it'll heal quickly.

Apologies for mis-understanding you in your reply to my post about it too - I guess some things don't always come across when you read them as they're intended to be said, and it can be easy to mis-read things sometimes. Either way, I got my reply up, and I hope it helps to keep things moving without too much delay.

I tried to be kind of comphrehensive in Rowan's explanation, but I didn't think it was worth trying to tell the entire history of the UC up until Rowan's departure, as we're probably all familiar enough with it. And I figured it's not all relevant, just what the captain would find important related to Rowan. Either way, it's a good reply, and gets the information in there.
