The desire to join an RP instead of run one, but the lack of anything being advertised or open that fits my interests

Why are people posting 1x1 'looking for' threads in the main section, when there's a whole section for 1x1 RP's?

It'd be nice to be able to *play* an RP I'm interested in for once, rather than having to *run* one all the time. Of course, doesn't help that I'm picky about what I enjoy.

Hmmmmm... PM inviting me to an RP on Discord by a user who just joined the site and has no posts? Doesn't sound iffy at all, no sir.

Bio

I've been roleplaying in one form or another since the late '90's. I've played as many tabletop games as I have online ones, and the quality of both has varied wildly.
I have an active imagination, and I love immersive, descriptive roleplaying. My genres of choice are sci-fi, and modern-day (with a sci-fi twist). I like RP's that mix reality with fiction, and throw an unusual and exciting twist into an otherwise normal setting - something like Stargate SG-1 would be an example, or Battle: Los Angeles. An almost recognizable world, but with some sci-fi twists.
I'm a fan of military and action-based RP's that do this especially, and they are easily my favourite - though I rarely see any that appeal to me enough - all the military RP's are too 'plain', and anything else modern day is usually fantasy or fandom. Or *shudder* school RPs...

I have a lot of fandoms; Transformers, Macross, MLP: FiM, Fallout, Battletech, Ace Combat, and others to varying degrees. But I don't often join fandom RPs because the ones I'm into don't come up, or I am very picky about my RPs and their plots and feel.

I don't play in free, as I find the short posts and bad spelling and grammar infuriating. I like a lot of depth, story, setting and character to my RPs, so am usually found in Casual and sometimes Advanced. Though, usually running my own RPs.

I'm 43 years old, and live in the UK, so I may not be on all the time.
I also like playing non-human characters, especially anthro ones, robots or synthetics, or some hybrid of both.

Outside of my RP tastes and hobby; I read a lot of books, play wargames and TTRPGs, make model aircraft and vehicles, and am also a brony and furry. I have been running a large local furmeet group for the last 10 years and have been involved in running a very successful UK MLP convention.

Yey, Reeza (and of course, inked-now-muse) is back!

Once your sheet is up and ticking, I'll work out a way to introduce you. Probably at the same time as Winters' character, as that will make sense :)
Glad to have you back!
I just need to point out that Adrian and Aiden, your team wasn't investigating a warehouse, it was a copper mine. I think Adrian went into one of the mine shafts for a look around before it collapsed partially, and then the booby-trapped GEAR exploded shortly after that.

Imagine your stereotypical mine-workings. Heavy machinery, multiple mine-shaft openings, narrow-gauge rails, all that lovely stuff.

Hrm.. Should I think over a co-pilot like last time? XD

You're welcome to have one as an NPC if you like - after all, most attack helos have two crewmen, so it would fit.

Also, I just realized I hadn't added a theme to my character since we started. I've now gone back and amended this >.>
Ro was pleased and surprised by the younger vixens' firm handshake, and more so when, after introducing herself she read his expression and demeanour precisely and made her assertion about the role she was taking on.
Embarassed all at once about his reservations toward her, the wolverines' expression fell and he felt a twinge of shame.
"Of course," he said sheepishly after a moment, and with a somewhat awkward smile. "I'm sure that you'll do a lot more than 'just' a job as well," he added. "If you've come here in the first place, then you know some of what you're in for, and how tight-knit these units can get... I apologize if I didn't make you feel welcome. Please, let me show you to your room and around the 'cruiser to make it up to you, won't you?" he added, trying to lighten the mood. Captain Stirling nodded in acceptance of the idea, the mare folding her arms.
"I'll stay here and supervise the GEAR loading and stowing into the bay - though, that's a generous name - while R.R. shows you around. Welcome aboard, Tilly".
Ro turned and gestured toward the personnel hatch into the Wandering Promise. The fog was still heavy in the air, and the light spilling from inside the landcruiser had a welcoming look.
I'll wait for a few more replies before I post again. The battle shouldn't last too long, as I'm keen to move us on quickly into the meaty bits of the plot and keeping things going.

I'm at work so I'm posting this from my phone. That'd be fine, though as an alternative I thought that maybe she could be called as reinforcement after the other pilot is disabled and or killed in combat. It could make fr some juicy story telling and that way I could still do the greetings and introductions with her.

That would be good to have the introductions done, and if we lose someone, then it kind of proves that the enemy are actually dangerous too, which is probably worth thinking about.

Lol I'll remember that when I need something from you IC :P

Dammit. My one weakness, exposed!

Sounds a-okay to me.

Great, I'll just wait for a word back from Winter too, to make sure she's okay with it as well.

I meant to ask, too, Winter - who is the artist for your images? They're pretty cool.
Also, stockings. Guaranteed to make your GM dribble like an idiot.
Looks good to me, although the GEAR wouldn't be able to be equipped with a flight unit at this stage of the game, as that tech isn't fully developed (our 1x1 takes place in a slightly off-center version of the universe, where the tech is a bit more advanced). Otherwise Chris looks good, as does the Sovereign.
Although, I would advise editing your systems and equipment for your 'thermal cameo system' ;-)

In terms of introducing her, my recommendation would be that, if it's okay with yourself and if Aristo is okay with it too, we just drop you into ASTA's position, and just pretend you were with us all along, and are backing up Myrina. It saves having to do any plot gymnastics to introduce you, or to explain where he's gone and killing him off too.

I'll add the CS to the OP later on.
Well, thanks for letting me know. It's a shame after all that waiting and holding your place that you're dropping out, but I can't really comment since I dropped a bunch lately for the same reason. See you around!

Aristo, guess this means you're free to post as soon as you see fit. And no more excuses about waiting for ASTA any more either :P
