The desire to join an RP instead of run one, but the lack of anything being advertised or open that fits my interests

Why are people posting 1x1 'looking for' threads in the main section, when there's a whole section for 1x1 RP's?

It'd be nice to be able to *play* an RP I'm interested in for once, rather than having to *run* one all the time. Of course, doesn't help that I'm picky about what I enjoy.

Hmmmmm... PM inviting me to an RP on Discord by a user who just joined the site and has no posts? Doesn't sound iffy at all, no sir.

Bio

I've been roleplaying in one form or another since the late '90's. I've played as many tabletop games as I have online ones, and the quality of both has varied wildly.
I have an active imagination, and I love immersive, descriptive roleplaying. My genres of choice are sci-fi, and modern-day (with a sci-fi twist). I like RP's that mix reality with fiction, and throw an unusual and exciting twist into an otherwise normal setting - something like Stargate SG-1 would be an example, or Battle: Los Angeles. An almost recognizable world, but with some sci-fi twists.
I'm a fan of military and action-based RP's that do this especially, and they are easily my favourite - though I rarely see any that appeal to me enough - all the military RP's are too 'plain', and anything else modern day is usually fantasy or fandom. Or *shudder* school RPs...

I have a lot of fandoms; Transformers, Macross, MLP: FiM, Fallout, Battletech, Ace Combat, and others to varying degrees. But I don't often join fandom RPs because the ones I'm into don't come up, or I am very picky about my RPs and their plots and feel.

I don't play in free, as I find the short posts and bad spelling and grammar infuriating. I like a lot of depth, story, setting and character to my RPs, so am usually found in Casual and sometimes Advanced. Though, usually running my own RPs.

I'm 43 years old, and live in the UK, so I may not be on all the time.
I also like playing non-human characters, especially anthro ones, robots or synthetics, or some hybrid of both.

Outside of my RP tastes and hobby; I read a lot of books, play wargames and TTRPGs, make model aircraft and vehicles, and am also a brony and furry. I have been running a large local furmeet group for the last 10 years and have been involved in running a very successful UK MLP convention.

But the Loaded weight of a Viking is more than the A-10 (Far more)(Also, ignore the fact I double posted, my brain wishes to not recognize certain things right now)

I don't understand your argument, or statement? It sounds like you're saying I said something wrong, but all I said was 'they use the same engines, one is maritime and one is land-based', which is still true. I'm confused.

The engines might need improvements too, I think, but the rest sounds good.

Well, the engines are the same as the ones used on the S-3 Viking, which is a carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft, so I imagine they could be adapted to the same spec easily enough.

You mistook Maxwell as Payne once and called him a fox >.>

Evidently, when Silverwind received a head wound, he started seeing everyone as foxes.
I did mistakenly called Ashers a fox as well, as I thought she was an arctic fox, rather than a wolf. I also get confused by who is what sometimes xD
Anyway, I'll try to keep an eye on that in future.

I'll get another post up soon, just giving people a chance to reply. Haven't heard much from a couple of people lately, so I will prod them with sticks shortly to see what happens.
Yeah, strengthened internal frame and landing gear for carrier launch-and-landings, folding wings - maybe like an E-2, folding to the rear, instead of over the top - anti-corrosion finish for protection against the elements and an arrestor hook. Plus updates to navigation software etc for overwater flight.

If you give a good enough explanation of it, sure, I don't see why not.

Close Air Support for Marine landing forces and anti-shipping in shallow/coastal water environments?
Overland strike and battle-damage assessment/observation or even gunfire observation/plotting would also be something to consider if big-gun battleships are still in use in Ace Combat-land (I'm pretty sure there's one in 5 at one point?) and it's a two-seater.
Rafale said I'm pretty open to new ideas regarding aircraft, so long as it's nothing too far-fetched.

Would a Navalized A-10 count as too far fetched...? For later, obviously.

The only reason why Miku isn't flying a Jag is because the only picture I found for her that I liked was in a Navy uniform.

The Jaguar was originally supposed to be Naval-capable, and got as far as carrier trials with the French Navy, but wasn't carried through at the final stages. It's in the info on the wiki page for the Jag, as well as elsewhere on t'internet.
I'm pretty sure that Rafale wouldn't have minded if we'd taken that idea and ran with it, since this is Ace Combat and all, and not the real world.
Overwing pylons are a Jaguar speciality :D
I actually really like the Jag. I remember seeing them at airshows before they retired them from RAF service :(
And trying to teach an American pilot how to say 'Jag-u-ar' the English way, which he took in very good humour.

Slap some QAAM's on it and you're good to go!

Actually, I really like counter-insurgency light attack aircraft and close-air-support aircraft that are prop powered as well as jets ^^;; the OV-10 Bronco and IA-58 Pucara are two of my favourites. I guess I'm more of a mud-mover than a dog fighter.

OK, I guess the PTSD will have to wait.Maybe there's some spare F-5s or something in the hangar.

Maybe there's a Bulldog or two lying around ;)
