No, the Archipelago itself is the colony.

Then where did the colonists come from? A colony has to have a nation of origin. I don't see it on the map.

The Lancian Empire is the homeland/father nation(me). As part of a way of keeping the colony managed, it was later federated and put under the Provincial Duke. That is my understanding, anyways.

I'm confused. Is the Lancian Empire just a colony? Where is the Home Nation in Algaesia of the Lancian Empire? Also, The Matwe Confederation will have a vague notion of your hostility towards natives-nothing specific due to the distance between Lancia and Matwe proper.

You are Captain Dalvo Bex, Commander of the Space Frigate Heirloom, on a supply run to Rigel II from Earth. You awake dizzy in your quarters and cannot remember how you got here. The emergency lighting system has activated bathing the small, dimly lit room in pale red light.

You manage to sit up and the pain in your head worsens. A clear cup with some pale white liquid is on the table beside you. The viewscreen above your dining table shows only static. The doorlock light is green. You are naked except for your skivvies and suddenly quite cold.

Name: Hecates' Tower
Population: Predominately populated by Humans, Leechkin, Graveborn. A Hellgeist has taken over a section of the catacombs beneath the city.
Leadership: The Tower is ruled by the Red Witches, led by Hecate herself. Her cabal of sorcerers oversea the operation of the oil refinery and the skin farms. They also give protection to a fledgling church that reveres Bahpst, the God of Profanity.
Other Major Power Brokers: The Dead Boys Rail Gang, Titus Exegesis, leader of the Bahphest movement.
Description: "Hecates" Tower stood long before any mortal thing laid eyes upon it. It is of the time of the Star-Gods, a basalt and onyx free-standing structure, thousands of feet high, chambers of which are still yet to be explored. Hecates Coven took over the first few levels after slaying the handful of mechano-horrors that had made nest there. Worshippers of the Witches discovered oil and the city began to grow.
Military: The Witches make use of the Dead-Boy Rail Gangs and other Mercenary troops.
Religious Entities: Titus Exegesis has formed a small congregation devoted to the God of Profanity, Bapst.

For my two cents, I think the Martian idea is cool, and I'd trust Willy to make it work in such a setting.
