Current I just saw the new Masters of The Universe, would recommend, especially if, like me, you were in the target audience back in the 1980's

Bio

Bios are stupid; oh, sure, everyone can see them, but I bet nobody reads them.

Rude hand gestures and shpadoinkle, there.

No, I wasn't drunk when I wrote this, but I was very tired.

if nobody minds, I guess I'll go ahead and work up a post?

Dragon Academy-

What if "How to Train Your Dragon", but an alternate timeline? Unlike the original films, where the third film ended with dragons withdrawing from the world, in this setting, the world is one where both dragons and dinosaurs (referred to as "wyrms") persisted, into the modern day! Life is pretty different; it's a dangerous world for humans, and there are still expanses between cities and towns. The Northern archipelago where such places as Birk exist, is where Dragons rule; the ability to fly between the islands allowed them to quickly dominate the region, ecologically speaking. The mainland, the continent? rivers and lakes don't provide the same barriers that seas and oceans do, so while there are Dragons in the rest of the world, Wyrms (dinosaurs) are more prolific. Bonding with beasts also would not be a trainable skill set; only gifted individuals have the (for lack of a better description) magical ability to bond with Dragons or Wyrms in the first place, and skills/training is built around that. Either you've got it, or you don't.

Players would be students of the famed "Birk Academy"; based out of Birk, Riders from around the world seek to attend, eventually to become Rangers, going out into the world with their Dragon Partner to do good for people. There are similar training grounds on the mainland, but Birk's is the most famous and widely known (again, the advantages of dragons' ability to fly, faster spread of information/reputation). However, Birk Academy is the only such institution that exclusively trains Rangers.
yay, posted! and it isn't terrible lol
Rick Wheeler

After a brief exchange with Felix, Rick decided he wasn't all too concerned with whether or not Felix was even supposed to be there. He didn't seem like he was up to anything like stealing (what was even here to steal, anyway?), and he didn't seem like the thieving type, anyway. This Felix character was there to use a telescope, and was looking for the professor.

"Well, I'm not sure where the prof is, at the moment, but she probably wouldn't mind, anyway." He smirked, "Besides, I don't think anybody would complain about more people wanting to come here... Probably."

Felix had brought their own telescope, and set it up, talking about some 'bizarre phenomena', which was why he'd come to see the professor. "No kidding? Any chance I could take a look?" As Rick leaned down to look, Felix had begun describing, in detail, the strange stellar object. As he caught sight of it, Felix's voice faded until he couldn't hear him anymore...

Weird; Rick felt like... He was floating, like he was out in space with it! It looked like a big machine, and it was in pretty rough shape! It almost looked like some kind of animal!

In a flash, he was suddenly somewhere else, watching a space station or something being torn into by alien craft like sharks with a whale carcass!

Another flash, and he's on the ground again- oh man, did the prof put something weird in his water bottle? He could've sworn he was inside a motorcycle helmet, or something, and his own breathing was pretty loud in his ears. The visor was broken, so he had a pretty clear view of- sweet christmas, it was a warzone! He had a short sword, like a gladius, in hand and his vision dropped onto someone else. They were dressed in some kind of red outfit, with a bleeding wound in their back, crawling away from him as sparks from from his damaged helmet-

And than he came back to reality. Rick was on his back, where they'd set up the telescope, and his head hurt- he figured he must fallen when he saw... Whatever all of that was.

He was panting, and wasn't quite hearing what Felix and Professor Luna were trying to say to him, he simply cut them off, "-What the F#$% was that!?"
it's been awhile, everybody ok? We all still here for this?
I'm... Not confident, at this point. I want to keep going, but this isn't working. Sorry for wasting your time, but I'm calling it here.
going to get a post out later tonight, or early tomorrow

Edit to add: I'm handwaving that rule, because the only possible way you'd survive the ensuing battle would've been as part of a group, hopefully armed.

This is my second time running this particular scenario, and my first time running it for a solo player... Getting a feeling this particular one needs some re-writing and re-balancing options...

This will be the only time I hold back going forward, I just don't want it to end before the story has really gotten off the ground.
ok, going to get a post out later tonight!

Edit: struggling with focus, I'll try to get a post up soon, don't let me hold things up.
