If you're buying "health food bars" make sure you check the sugar content. A little natural sugar is normal, but it ain't heathy if it has 20g added sugar.

Just shout to the heavens "UWOH SEGGS" and wait for divine inspiration. Or your family's disapproval. Whichever gets there first.

It's a bot or something. Posted "Hi,can you please join my League of Legends Noxus Roleplay?" in the fricking IC thread of another RP I'm in. Obnoxious.
Remy... really wasn't an artsy craftsy type of individual. He wasn't opposed to it or anything, but he definitely felt he was more a big and practical project person, and less of a "for fun" project person. So he'd mostly just been fidgeting around with the various scraps and doodads in the craft cabin. He could tell he wasn't the only one sharing this sentiment, but he was definitely in the minority.
He did catch one kid working on something, if only because he thought it was so odd for such a small, young kid to be working with a knife. He was growing more and more certain it was a lightsaber the kid was working on, but he wasn't quite sure y-
Aaaand he cut himself. For someone so small, he sure had a lot of blood. Remy may have been the first onlooker to notice, but he was soon joined by others. The problem was, again, the kid was small and oddly quiet for someone doing their best impersonation of a blood fountain. Some of the other kids in the cabin began to panic at the sight of all that blood and unfortunately by sounding the alarm, they were ironically taking all the attention away from the actual victim.
So, while the counselor on duty attempted to make sense of the chaos, Remy began thinking. This kind of thing was nothing new to him. He just needed the right tools... none of which existed in this cabin. His own shirt could work, but... it was kinda gross. Well, those scraps and doodads finally had practical purpose, as their was some scrap cloth for making... uh... something artsy he supposed.
He went over, put a firm hand on the increasingly pale and unsteady looking kid, before taking advantage of the fact that he was over a full head taller and reaching up to grab the kid's injured hand and clamp down on it with a few scraps of cloth. They weren't exactly sanitary, but they'd stem the bleeding and it was better than a shirt permeated with half dried sweat from his morning exercise.
"Hey, don't worry, it looks a lot worse than it is," Remy started rambling to try and distract him from his injury. "Just gotta put pressure on it. I seen way worse back home. My uncle once found a coyote stuck in some barbed wire. Thought it was already dead so he went over to go get it. Thing woke up and bit him three times before he could put it in a headlock while my dad cut the wire. Dang thing bit uncle again as thanks before it ran off. I swear my uncle wanted to rub dirt on it and get back to work, but my mom told him he had to go to the hospital in case it had rabies. Compared to that, this is nothin'. I don't think knives can even get rabies."
By then, most of the kids had stopped freaking out, and one or two had started listening in on Remy's rambling, seeming be equally glad for the distraction. This meant that, thankfully, the counselors had finally been able to spot the source of all the panic.
OK, I had some nasty writer's block, but apparently I just needed someone to start bleeding to get past it lmao. I'll try to get a reply out in a bit. Sorry for being MIA.
Are you all ok with me giving out a couple of personal scenes to these characters before/if they all gather at their morning class? I think it could be a fun way for me to introduce some of your later competition!
Felix tried to steady his breathing, but felt a tremor in his hands nonetheless. He only had three Pokémon. The tournament called for teams of four. Somehow here he was in the finals. There had been no margin for error. Venus was his strongest Pokémon, and so she had to carry most of the weight. Nin and Royal had to beat at least one opponent each. If Venus ever had to fight more than two, the burden might be too much. They only had so much time to rest between matches. They just needed to keep it up.
Felix was wondering if he shouldn't have just caught a Zubat or something to fill out the fourth slot.
"It's the up-and-comer, Felix Charron versus our hometown hero, Aimeric Beufort! Let the battle begin!"
"Go, Litleo!" Aimeric sent out his first Pokémon. In that case, there was really only one option. Fire types were a bit of a problem for his team at the moment.
"You're up first, then!" Felix sent out his Nidorino, Royal.
They started out with a horn attack. The move was dodged, and they attempted to fire back with an ember, but now Royal was in melee range. A quick double-kick caught Litleo off guard, snapping its jaw shut before the ember could fire off. A headbutt from Litleo then clashed with another horn attack from Nidorino. It seemed to be an even exchange at first, with neither being pushed back. Then Nidorino shook its head, seeming momentarily dazed from the impact.
Their opponents went for another ember, able to get it off this time. Nidorino charged right through, tanking the flames and jabbing back with a poison sting. As the poison took hold, Nidorino was able to follow-up with another horn attack, landing it cleanly this time. Litleo was thrown down and could not get back up. They were off to a good start. Royal wasn't unscathed, but neither was he breathing hard. He had plenty of gas left in the tank.
"Mrr!" Venus threw her arms up in celebration from where she stood at Felix's side. The field was even. The math was now mathing more in their favor.
Aimeric recalled Litleo and took a deep breath. "Duosion, you're up next!"
. . .
BEEEP! BEEEP!
Felix jolted awake, not quite used to his new surroundings yet. He felt like he'd only just barely gotten to sleep and now his stupid holo-caster was screaming at him to wake back up. He hit snooze. He could wait a bit. He wasn't ready to be alive again just yet.
"Mrr!" No sooner had he closed his eyes than he was being shaken by Venus.
"Oh come on, I'm jet lagged..."
"Mrr?"
"Yeah, I know we took a boat. Same difference." Felix pulled his pillow over his head. "I'll just skip breakfast. It's fine."
Venus let out an exasperated sigh and trundled across the room to where Felix's trainer belt was hung. She tapped one of the balls and a moment later a Dunsparce, Rolls, popped out. He let out a confused rasp before Venus whispered something to him. His head whipped around as if dumbfounded, or perhaps offended. He then quickly inched over to the bed and began to slither up the side... as much as such a rotund creature could.
"What are you-?" Felix peeked out from under his pillow, just as Rolls was aligning his head against Felix's ribs. "Don't you d-" The next thing he knew, he was being catapulted out of bed, landing in a heap on the floor. With a growl, he grabbed the edge of the bed and pulled himself up. "Why you!" He leapt back over the bed, tackling Rolls... but a moment later found himself flying right back across the bed and landing just as ungracefully as he had before.
For something so squishy, Rolls sure was strong.
The Dunsparce let out an impatient rumble, having been told it was time for food. Felix knew he wouldn't rest now until he was fed.
"I'll remember this," Felix grumbled, once again hauling his upper body up onto the bed so he could glare across it at Venus. The Mawile just folded her hands innocently, seemingly only slightly embarrassed that things had escalated the way they did. That said, one could be almost certain she'd known exactly what Rolls would do when told breakfast was on the line.
In an act of pure pettiness, Felix took his time getting dressed, making sure his outfit was immaculate before heading out.
"Oh wow, he's kinda pretty." "His clothes look expensive..." "Is he a celebrity or something?"
Felix did his best not to react. He was aware he'd gotten into the habit of putting about ten times more effort into his appearance than the average guy, and he dressed a little flashy on top of that. He didn't love being gossiped about, but comments like that weren't exactly hurting his ego.
"He's so short." "Isn't he from Kalos?" "Ugh. Kalos..." "Didn't they almost end the world? Twice?"
Then again, maybe it'd be best if everyone just shut the f-
Felix was assaulted by the not-so-dull roar of the cafeteria as Venus ushered him through the extra-wide double doors. Since he'd been dragging his feet, it was already filling up with people and Pokémon looking for their first meal of the day. Hopefully these people would all be too busy eating to pay him any mind.
First off, I absolutely would love a cross over session! Could be fun to do that for like the tournament! I'd have to see how far along they are, we might get there before then.
As for the region, I was imagining this on a large island sort of out of the boundaries of any specific region. Would love to find a way to attach this to like Orre or something though. That said, the orange islands would be the best bet.
Lmao, I literally thought to myself "Orange Islands might be good" and then I read the last sentence.
I also like the idea of a crossover episode. There'd be plenty of ways to implement it without it being too disruptive I'm sure.
Aaaanyway, I'm already thinking up my post. Hopefully later today I'll write it up, but no promises. This week at some point for sure.
Found a neat little tool for randomly generating pokemon teams. Might be useful for one-off NPCs and stuff. Even if you don't love the result, it can give you a good starting point. And it's just nice to not have to remember all 1000+ freaking pokemon.
Relatively short at around 5'5" and with a tendency to wear trendy clothes that are definitely style first function second, as well as a fair bit of jewelry.
Personality: He comes off as a solid mixture of aloof and abrasive. He's not one to snap and start screaming at you, but it's not uncommon for him to fire off a few insensitive remarks if one ends up on his bad side. Getting on his bad-side isn't terribly easy, though, as he'd have to care about your opinion first.
His somewhat antisocial behavior does not mean that he's shy, however. Far from it, and he's the farthest thing imaginable from a doormat. In normal conversation, when not otherwise incensed, he is typically polite if somewhat curt.
What will get you on his bad-side is not taking anything he considers of vital importance seriously. He is a meticulous planner and is somewhat obsessive when it comes to safety. One might think he used to work construction due to his strict adherence to a safety-first mindset.
His general demeanor doesn't change much around his Pokemon, though one might notice that said Pokemon are able to get away with murder around him and have not had their exceedingly eccentric personalities quashed in the slightest. Outside of battling, it's pretty clear they run the show.
History: The younger brother of a trainer who seemed destined for greatness. Felix's older brother was all but guaranteed to challenge, if not defeat, the league. However, an accident occurred during what should have otherwise been a forgettable battle and he was injured badly, putting an end to his career when the injuries proved to be permanently debilitating.
Felix had always lived in his shadow. He had been fully aware that his brother was the golden child. Their family hadn't been able to afford supporting both their ambitions, and so Felix had been forced to largely fend for himself when it came to his trainer career. The best he could hope for was to be "paid off" with the occasional nice gift. Half the time he swore even that was only so he'd look good when he showed up to his brother's events.
He tried to shrug it off as best he could. He didn't want to resent his own brother. His brother had always been kind to him; encouraged him to keep working toward his own dreams. He looked up to him more than he'd ever looked up to their parents.
He just had to be patient. His time would surely come.
And come it had. And he ignored it. He hadn't wanted it to be like this.
Whether out of fear or frustration, Felix could no longer find the motivation to continue. The shining star he'd been following was gone. Felix released all of his Pokemon.
Then, shortly after his brother had recovered as much as he was ever likely to, a local tournament sent an invitation. After all, crippled or not, it wasn't like the trainer himself had to do the battling. They wanted the town celebrity to appear if possible. He passed, saying it would be too hard to let go if he got a taste for it again.
He handed the invitation to Felix. "Don't you think it's time you two got going?"
In the end, his brother convinced Felix to participate. But first, he had to apologize to the one Pokemon that had never stopped waiting for him.
When they made it to the tournament after having barely a month to prepare, they didn't even have a full team. Everyone, including himself, expected him to be eliminated quickly. No one, including himself, expected him to win the whole thing.
It was finally his time.
Goals: To finish what his brother started.
Team:
Name: Venus Species: Mawile Personality: As Felix's first and most loyal pokemon, it saw everything he went through. While still possessing some of its innate mischievousness as a mawile, it also has a strong sense of responsibility. It has taken it upon itself to, in a way, act as Felix's keeper, trying to rein in his more negative personality traits. It's also a little prideful and often acts as "team leader" due to seniority. Stats: Endurance: S Power: A Speed: D Adaptability: A- Potential: C
Name: Royal Species: Nidorino Personality: Agonizingly stubborn. Listens well enough in battle, but insufferable at almost all other times. One of the two Pokemon, aside from Venus, Felix found for the tournament and proof that Felix is bad at coming up with names. Stats: Endurance: B+ Power: A+ Speed: B Adaptability: C- Potential: A+
Name: Nin Species: Ninjask Personality: It seems to possess wisdom beyond its years. It seems to, but it doesn't. It's not stupid, but it always acts like it knows what's best, and then puts on a big show of being humble if it turns out to be wrong. Otherwise, pretty easygoing when it's not trying to offer unsolicited advice. The other of the two pokemon Felix found for the tournament, managing to evolve from a nincada just in time. Stats: Endurance: C+ Power: B- Speed: S+ Adaptability: B- Potential: C+
Name: Rolls Species: Dunsparce Personality: Cuddly, especially when hungry. It's often hungry. Probably the most agreeable of his Pokemon and the first one he caught after the tournament to start filling out his team. It has no enemies except for its own stomach. Stats: Endurance: A Power: B+ Speed: C+ Adaptability: C+ Potential: A+
Name: Pikachu Species: Pikachu Personality: Incredibly dull for a pokemon that can shoot lightning. It was supposed to have a name, but it kept forgetting and would only respond to its species. There is nothing going on behind those eyes. Likes to use dunsparce as a pillow. Stats: Endurance: C- Power: B+ Speed: A+ Adaptability: D- Potential: A
