Brayden Pointe

Personality … Intelligent, hardworking, professional, and consistently calm, Dr. Brayden Pointe (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) is the owner and head veterinarian at Healing Pointe Animal Care Hospital. Well-liked by both owners and their pets, Brayden is friendly yet reserved, quiet, observant, and rarely rattled. Soft spoken but confident, he notices more than he lets on. An outdoor enthusiast, he spends most weekends hiking with his dogs, Scooby and Doo, or jogging through local parks. His two dogs, are constant companions, happily chasing squirrels and crows while Brayden enjoys the quiet outdoor life.

Background … After breaking up with the love of his life and moving to a new city to get away from the skeletons in his closet, too many memories, and the perpetual west coast rain and cold, Brayden found himself wandering into antique stores, bookstores, thrift shops, and libraries, places that were becoming his new routine after work. Reluctant to step into another relationship, he began to find the stories in books more compelling than the people around him, and his two dogs far less frustrating than anyone else. Over time, Brayden has grown more introverted, more withdrawn, and, as his sister liked to say, “grumpier to the people, nicer to the animals.”

Veterinary Medicine (DVM) - Highly trained in animal health, surgery, and emergency care, not bad with people medicine and first aid.
Calm Under Pressure - Rarely rattled. In high stress situations, he becomes more focused rather than reactive.

Animal Handling - Skilled at managing frightened, injured and/or aggressive animals.

Sorry it took me so long to read this, I saw it this morning but couldn't stay awake.

I appreciate you worked in a hook to more obviously work this character into the story!

I approve of the character sheet, with the caveat of a different image- I'm not going to harp on the ai, but one of the tags is "anime/manga", so if you could make it more that art style, I'd appreciate it.

Character Name: Alyson “Allie” Wright

Personality:
Bright, jovial and energetic. Alyson is the devil-may-care behind a toothy grin and a voice that has no business being that smooth. Optimistic to a degree that occasionally baffles people around her, she has a talent for finding the interesting angle in a bad situation and running with it. She's flirty when the mood strikes, though anyone who's tried to actually pin her down on that front has discovered she becomes suddenly, cheerfully, and thoroughly unavailable. Thrills are her currency. Locked doors, unfamiliar rooftops, places she probably shouldn't be entering but nobody ever told her off for. Not out of rebellion, but genuine curiosity. She just always wants to see what’s on the other side.

Background:
Local gal doing local things. Not much to say beyond a general thrillseeker who preferred digging through mud and supposedly haunted buildings over gossiping and fancy parties. A troublemaker Alyson isn’t, but that doesn’t mean she’s got a squeaky-clean record either; Most likely the odd smudge of a misdemeanour here and there. Works at a local skateboard store as a clerk and mechanic while spending her free time getting into technically legal trouble that cops wouldn’t look twice at.

Skills:
Skating - Has been rolling on wheels ever since she could stand on her own two feet. She’s not Tony Hawk, but genuinely decent at clearing a ramp if she has to.
Parkour - Why walk the steps when you can climb/walk/jump every available surface and get into places you’re definitely not supposed to be?
Lock-picking - Weeks of YouTube tutorials and sheer determination to sneak into her brother’s room for snacks. Seriously, she’s not a fucking criminal. Mostly.
Practical repairs - Working at the local skateshop has given Alyson ample time to know which way a screw tightens or how to wire a plug.
Physical resilience - Years of falls and getting back up have made her genuinely hard to rattle. Or at least difficult to make her wince at every little bump.

Items:
Skateboard, a small lock-pick roll tucked in her jacket, phone, a flat-head multitool and probably several specks of dust in a pocket somewhere if she’d count those.

Character Name: Dante Flores

Personality: Dante Flores is the kind of person who always seems put together. He’s charming, stylish, good with people, and knows how to make a strong impression without looking like he’s trying too hard, even when he absolutely is. He cares a lot about how he looks and how others see him. He likes beauty, likes feeling in control, and hates giving people a reason to look down on him. He can be vain, a little dramatic, and defensive when he feels judged, especially by people who assume that because he’s into fashion and social media, he must be shallow. Dante is more sensitive than he wants anyone to know. When he’s scared or hurt, he usually tries to cover it with humor, attitude, or by acting like he’s fine. He likes to seem confident, but a lot of that confidence is an act, and when things go wrong, it freaks him out more than he would want to admit.

Background: Dante is a 23 year old fashion and lifestyle influencer. He’s built a decent local following by posting outfit photos, cafe visits, boutique finds, event appearances, and yes the occasional thirst trap. He has a good eye for what people will respond to, and a knack for making things sound more interesting than they are, which is why his content does so well. He didn’t come from money or instant internet fame, and he worked hard to build what he has now. he knows the local scene better than anyone. He knows which places are actually worth going to, who talks to who, and how to get information from people without making it obvious he’s fishing for it.

Skills: People skills - He knows how to charm people, work a room, and influence how others see him.

Photography - Knows composition, lighting, and visual detail

Video editing - Can film, cut, and edit content together.

Local knowledge — knows trendy spots, neighborhoods, and social circles

Fashion and style: He has a strong sense of what looks good and how to put an outfit together.

Curses, sorcery, monsters and all manner of unpleasantness; that's what awaits you!
And all because you just couldn't stay away from that place...

Every town or city has such a place; the source of rumors and urban legends, etc. Neighborhoods have the house the local kids can only run passed, the one that's rumored to be haunted, or the home of a witch, and places where a wide variety of terrible-yet-suspect claims are said to have taken place.

This rp is about one such place; the players, directly or indirectly, get swept up through a series of events and into a great (and at times daunting) modern-day quest! To find everything that's been unleashed, contain them, and bring them back to their rightful place before too much damage is done!

My rules are, in my opinion, reasonable(obviously, follow the rules of the site as well)-

1 character per player; I will handle all extras.

This is an "Urban Fantasy" sort of setting; the supernatural/paranormal is real, and the modern world is unaware of that, so characters aren't going to be experienced monster hunters or anything like that. You're going to have to learn, adapt and adjust over the course of the adventures.

Improv; don't overthink it, write whatever you want, but keep to the limits of good taste, and coordinate with fellow players where they are involved, and before you click "post".

lastly... I'm hoping for a horror/adventure tone. Humor isn't forbidden, just use it sparingly, and read the proverbial room before inserting any levity to a scene.

Y'all ever heard of Friday the 13th... The Series?

The premise is some guy made a deal with the devil to turn around his failing antique store, and thus he was cursed- along with everything else in his shop. When he figured this out, he broke the deal and began searching the world for all the items in the hopes of preventing anyone else getting hurt, and the Series picked up with a couple of his descendents taking on the "family business".

Twenty years ago, I saw a web cartoon whose title I used for this post, and similarly involved a shady antique store with items not meant for casual handling, in more ways than one.

My idea essentially combines the two; the characters find themselves in a position where they are compelled to search for lost items that are supernaturally dangerous to the average person.

I guess there's room for comparison to some other properties as well, but a comprehensive list isn't necessary to illustrate the premise, so please don't comment just to point out series/things I didn't already mention.
