I just remembered that I once read a creepypasta about slenderman killing Hitler and it was actually pretty good. Grammar-wise and stuff I mean, but it was about still slenderman killing hitler :|

I wanted to find out how to communicate to wild Buns that I am their ally but it's a bit late because there's only one around our house now ;_;

Varen Payle - Green Hill Zone III - Still Tuesday

@Pyromania99

"It's a Dust Shard." Varen said with certainty, "Thunder element. Guess it's our's now."

She recognized the color because she saw it a lot. Using different kinds of Dust Crystals gave different properties for her semblance so she memorized the colors and which ones to mix in her spare time. Well now that they had the shard, it was time to head North. That was one of the only parts of the speech she'd heard which was fortunate because it seemed to be the only part that mattered.

"We're heading North now, aren't we?" She said, "We do have to find our other teammates now right?"

Australia, I'm guessing? :3 Also, idea?

@NarcissisticPotato I'll take your word for it. Your latest post gave me an idea for something though, so look forward to it.

^^ that's basically all he said about it. At least the forecast said Christmas day is going to only be 15°C to 37°C I think
Varen Payle - Green Forest Zone II - Bear huntin' time

@Pyromania99

Stars darted out from behind Asvoria, racing forward and hitting the Ursa Major right in the nose. The sudden shower of light made it flinch, and Varen took the opportunity to go in, dashing past Asvoria as she slotted in the shotgun grip. She fired once, staggering the Ursa Major. She fired again, and kept going. She flipped her gun into automatic mode and emptied her clip, each blast forcing the Ursa Major backwards. Without giving it a chance to breathe she took out a small dust crystal, about half the size of a normal one and activated her semblance.

She launched it forward and it detonated, knocking the Ursa off of its feet.

"Finish it!" She shouted.
Varen Payle - Emerald Hill Zone - Time to get a watch

@Pyromania99

Varen nodded silently.

The girl was interesting to say the least. She felt like she was far too chipper to be keeping secrets but who was she to judge? Varen herself probably seemed like someone who should be keeping a lot of secrets, but she never really did. If someone asked her something she would probably tell them whatever they wanted to know. Varen definitely wanted to get closer to her, maybe she'd find out the reason for it, if there was one besides her just being a stranger. Maybe people weren't as bad as she thought they were.

"If you need dust cartridges don't hesitate to ask." Varen said, "I have a lot."

She wasn't entirely sure if the small girl's weapon could use dust cartridges but it never hurt to offer something. Varen took the clip out of her gun and studied it for any errant wasted ammunition as she walked after Asvoria. In the earlier stages of the creation of her gun, sometimes it would consume more ammo than intended and it had taken a while to fix. She'd kept doing it a lot of the time though, mostly out of habit and sometimes because she wasn't sure how much she'd shot.

Looks like it's about enough for 25 shots. She thought.

The ammo capacity of one clip was about 30 rounds for the assault rifle, taking 3 rounds per sniper round, and 5 rounds per shotgun round. The conversion rate for the shotgun was 5 rounds for 9 pellets so it wasn't bad, but she could definitely up the efficiency. The conversion rates really do give her grief sometimes. Sometimes she could end up with 4 in the clip while using the shotgun and then having to switch to sniper mode then assault rifle mode for the sake of efficiency. Each clip took a full dust crystal so it really wasn't cheap to refill.

Varen slung her gun over her shoulder and took a small jar from the Ammo Box. She emptied the clip into it and stowed it away in her pockets while grabbing 4 clips from the Ammo Box and slotting one into her gun. It would be best to start on a full clip. If she got caught out she wanted every piece of dust in that ammo clip ready to fire, and she'd be able to use the powder with her semblance in case she needed too. Full crystals were a little dangerous after all.

"It might be best to scout ahead from higher up." Varen said, "Maybe we'll see something from the top of the trees."
Going to see Star Wars soon! :3 This is a good day!

Spoiler alert, there's no real reason the main bad guy's lightsaber is like that other than style points :3
Varen Payle - Emerald hills Forest - Tuesday

@Pyromania99
"Thank you." Varen said, straightening up her scarf. "My name is Varen."

Thankfully her teammate didn't have to see her landing which all things considered was rather embarrassing. She also wasn't telling her what her last name was just yet but she'd probably find it out some time afterwards anyway. The thing about her last name was she didn't even know if it was her actual last name. Varen had never heard her father say it, and the settlers she had been with only called her by her first name anyway. She'd needed something to put down on the forms though so she just came up with something on the spot.

"Do you happen to have an idea of where we're going?" She asked the other girl, "I wasn't completely listening to the principal's speech."
Varen Payle - Emerald Forest - Tuesday Morning

@Pyromania99
For a few moments as she sailed through the air, Varen felt somewhat refreshed. The air was nice, the sun was out, and it was generally good weather all around. It reminded her of something a teacher at Signal had said once in a lesson she hadn't really been listening to. A painter had fallen from the top of a clock-tower once all the way to the ground. He survived apparently, and he'd said: "While I was falling, I was fine. It was only when I hit the ground that I realized I was in trouble." Mostly it only reminded her of her current situation because it was one of the few times where she was warm and awake. The sun had been nice that day and she was sitting close to the windows, and she had been falling asleep, but she really wasn't sure what had spurred the teacher to mention that quote considering they were in a lesson about Math, so that had woken her up.

The treeline was looming closer and closer however, so Varen didn't have any more time to reminisce. She braced herself for impact as she brushed the top of a tree, snapping off weak branches as she hurtled past. (Kinda in this direction)

Reaching out with one of her arms, she swung off the a solid-looking branch changing her momentum from downwards to forwards. (like this)

She hit the ground rolling (sideways of course), the Ammo Box making it an extremely uncomfortable trip. She came to a sudden stop as she hit something big. She looked up to see an Ursa, out cold but not dead. Immediately her mind went into battle mode. Thoughts of what had totalled it left her mind as she sprang into action. In one fluid motion she rolled backwards, grabbed the comfort grip from her Ammo Box and slotted it in as she got up into a firing position. One shot, all 9 pellets going into the Ursa. The Ursa evaporated confirming its death as Varen spotted a girl with golden curls walking further into the forest.

Instantly Varen's mind froze up as she tried to think about how to call out to her. The principal had said the first person they made eye contact with was their partner for the next four years but that was kind of a weird thing to call out to someone for when you didn't even know them... But wait, pretty much everyone was going to do that, chances are most of the people here would be paired up with people they didn't know existed prior to initiation. So maybe she could do it without it seeming rude but still, it felt kind of iffy for her.

"Uhh... Hey!" She called out awkwardly, "The Ursa wasn't dead!"
Yo guys, we gotta do a contest for who can have the coolest landing
Varen Payle - Airship bound for Beacon - The previous night

Varen sighed for what was maybe the 10th time that night. She was late. Massively late, and she could've avoided it... As a final treat for her at Signal, someone had left her a portable heater. It may sound like a strange parting gift, but Varen was a Snake Faunus and she really needed the extra warmth at night. But what she didn't account for was that having the heater on all night made her sleep in hard. It would've been less of a problem if she didn't live in Signal.

It wasn't something she could really help because no one had adopted her. And even though Signal didn't have any dorms; there were beds in the infirmary, showers in the gym, and the cafeteria served dinner as well as lunch, and she could just buy breakfast for the next day. By the time someone swung by to wake her up, it was already almost the afternoon. The heater had done its job a little too well, and Varen had been sleeping extremely soundly. Then, by the time she got ready, she found out the next outbound ship had been delayed significantly and by the time it came it was already mid-afternoon.

Then when she finally reached Vale she immediately got lost for about 2-3 hours, and then by the time she'd reached the airship pick-up area it was already past sunset. They had to try and find a pilot that would take her and that took another hour. Now she was finally heading to Beacon, just her on the Airship, alone... If that didn't kinda sum up her life story then she didn't know what did.

"I hope initiation won't be bad..." She said to herself.

Present Day - Initiation Platform

"Are you kidding me?" Varen said.

The one thing she couldn't prepare for. Gravity. If she'd known this would happen she would've packed a grappling hook or something. The only thing she could really do was tie down her stuff because if her gun hit a branch it might break and that would definitely be bad. She made sure the straps keeping the Ammo Box on her back were steady, then she tied up her scarf to make sure it wouldn't fly away. Any loose dust crystals in her pockets were put into the Ammo Box and lastly, she held her gun close to her to keep it safe.

She felt the mechanisms in her platform start to shift as the student before her was launched into the forest.

"Alright, alright. Let's do this!" She said.

The platform sprang and she was sent sailing into the air.
