Who came up with the idea to make our statuses quotes from philosophers, anyway?

We could be doing something productive with our lives... instead, we're here.

A random quote from some philosopher that we'll forget in a few moments.

Who is still here?
Michelle heard a voice next to her and quickly turned around, seeing a boy introducing himself. "Um, hi there, my name's Michelle," she said to be polite. She wasn't really one to socialize, so she definitely hadn't talked to him during the three-week trip. Then he said his farewells and left to go back onto the ship. She wondered briefly what it was that was so important for him, then thought nothing more of it. Her stomach suddenly growled, and she looked down. Come to think of it, there was an announcement that said something about food. She was loathe to go back onto the ship, but she was hungry, and she figured that if she managed to stay on the ship for three weeks, she could do it for a little while more.

Going back onto the ship and into the mess hall, she noticed that she was clearly not the only one inside, and there were also some faces she did not recognize. She tried to ignore them, pulling her hood down as she got a tray and gathered some food, then moved to an empty table and started to eat.
Monkey, I will assume you're trying to talk to Michelle, judging by the wording of your post.
Michelle sighed. it was a relief to be able to see the sky once more now that all the Grimm were gone. It had been a rough three weeks, with all the Grimm attacking the ship. Plus, she had learned during the trip that she had a minor case of motion sickness, which did not help matters. Now that the ship landed, she was glad that the nausea and the urge to throw up had lessened immensely. She looked around to see what would be her new home. She didn't quite know what to think of it, but she supposed she would have to make do. It was certainly not perfect, but it was far better than nothing, or worse, dying. Then there were the announcements soon after landing, which were about trying to encourage her to chat with others, get some rest, among other things. It would be a relief to finally get some proper rest, that was for sure. She sighed again, and started looking around for a place to sleep.
Sorry about my lack of posting, I was caught up in life problems, and I'm not really sure how to follow with your current post. Plus, I was kinda waiting for one of the others to post first. Chances are I won't have anything up anytime soon, so........ yeah.

And I'm sure the others are also having their own life issues to deal with.

Michelle: Loot roll check: 5, 6, 1. 2 Successes for finding loot, 1 Failure. Rolls for type of loot: 8 (melee/thrown item), 5 (luxury). Penalty for luxury items incurred.
Michelle Sharp check: 5 +2=7. Partial Success!

While Michelle was looking around her, she saw nothing coming near her, but her main task was searching the corpses, so she might have missed something. Fortunately for her, there was nothing around that was a serious threat. Unfortunately, Michelle found nothing useful on the corpses apart from one simple screwdriver lodged in a walker's torso. She decided not to take it out and keep moving.
Alex Sharp check: 7 -1=6. Failure!
Unfortunately for him, Alex failed to noticed a walker on the ground between two cars until he walked past the location and it tried to grab his leg in an attempt to pull him down and eat him.
Yup, plus laziness also gets the best of us.
I have noticed that there is no system for looting corpses, so I will make one up. We roll a d6 to see if there's anything on the corpse, with 5 & 6 being successes. Then we roll one d10 to see what the loot is. Does this sound fair, guys?
I have no opinion either.
