As soon as Koya came over, Megumi came seemingly out of nowhere and said to Alexander, "You said you were gonna win this tournament."

Alexander turned to look at her, then said, "I said I'd do my best."

"Right, right," Megumi said. "Well, at least you had fun."

"Alright, alright, I get it," Alexander said. "Look, to cheer you up, I'll help fine tune your deck, ok?"

At that, Megumi smiled. "Sounds great," she said happily. With that, the two began to leave.
The hider is refusing to work properly for some reason.
"Alright, I made it to the finals, this should be a great duel!" Moros said excitedly as he stepped up and prepared himself.

At last, the finals. Alexander moved to his position and looked at his next opponent Moros. "The final Duel," Alexander said, getting into position. "Let's go."

Moros grinned, well at least this guy didn't look like he was totally bored with the whole thing, he took a breath and shouted, "Time to Duel!" as he masterfully grabbed his first five cards in a single draw.

Turn 1: Alexander

Alexander - 4000 LP, 5 cards
Moros - 4000 LP, 5 cards

"I'll go first then," Alexander said. "I Summon 'Defender, the Magical Knight' in Defense mode!" The armored knight appeared on the field, crouching behind his shield.

Defender, the Magical Knight - Level 4, DEF 2000

"When 'Defender' is Normal Summoned, he gains 1 Spell Counter," Alexander explained, the red orb on his shield turning black. "I place 1 card face down and end my turn," Alexander finished.

Turn 2: Moros

Alexander - 4000 LP, 3 cards -> 1 monster, 1 face down
Moros - 4000 LP, 6 cards

"Hmm." Moros hummed thoughtfully as he looked at his opponent's monster and his hand. A defensive monster was of no concern to him. "Alright I'll Set one monster and three more cards, that'll end my turn." Moros said confidently. It was definitely a good setup and if it went off right, , then Alexander would definatly be in trouble.

Turn 3: Alexander

Alexander - 4000 LP, 4 cards -> 1 monster, 1 face down
Moros - 4000 LP, 2 cards, -> 1 monster, 3 face down

"My turn," Alexander announced as he drew his next card. "I Summon 'Magical Exemplar' in Attack mode!" A green-eyed woman then appeared on the field.

[b]Magical Exemplar - Level 4, ATK 1700[b]

"Now I activate the Spell Card: 'Terraforming'!" Alexander declared, the spell appearing on his field. "This allows me to add one Field Spell from my deck to my hand." The card ejected itself from his deck, which Alexander then added to his hand. The 'Terraforming' spell then faded, replaced with 2 small orbs that flew towards 'Magical Exemplar', floating around her waist. "Every time a Spell Card is activated, my 'Exemplar' gains 2 Spell Counters when that Spell Card resolves," Alexander explained.

"Now I activate the Field Spell: 'Magical Citadel of Endymion'!" Alexander declared, and the area around them transformed in a forest, with a giant citadel behind Alexander. "I'll also activate the Spell Card: 'Spellbook of Power'!" Alexander said, a glowing orange book appearing before 'Magical Exemplar'. "This increases the ATK of my 'Exemplar' by 1000."

Magical Exemplar - ATK 1700 --> ATK 2700

"Just like before, 'Magical Exemplar' gains 2 Spell Counters, and my 'Citadel' also gains 1 Spell Counter," Alexander said, the two orbs appearing to revolve around 'Exemplar', and the giant "1" appearing in front of the 'Citadel'.

"Now for the Battle Phase! 'Magical Exemplar', destroy his face down monster!" Alexander commanded. 'Exemplar' extended her hand, and fired a green Bolt of energy from her palm, aiming straight for the face down monster.

An image of a gaint turtle wearing a pyramid on its back appeared before shattering. "Now that you destroyed 'Pyramid Turtle' by battle, his effect activates. I can Special Summon one Zombie monster from my deck with less than 2000 DEF, and I'll summon 'Wightprince' in Defense mode." A small skeleton wearing a crown appeared on the field holding his hands in front of him in a pleading gesture.

Pyramid Turtle- Level 4, 1400 DEF

"Now I'll activate my trap card, Chain Destruction, when a mosnter with less than 2000 ATK is summoned to the field I can destroy all copies of that card in the owners hand or deck." Two cards ejected from his deck and Moros put them in the Graveyard, "Now both of my Wightprince's effects activate, when sent to the grave I can send 1 Lady in Wight and 1 Skull Servant to the grave with them." Four more cards popped out from his deck and were inserted to the Graveyard.

Wightprince- Level 1, 0 DEF

Alexander was in deep thought now. With that many monsters in the grave, no doubt his monster would have plenty of ATK power. Alexander continued, "When a monster powered up with 'Spellbook of Power' destroys an opponent's monster by battle, I can add one 'Spellbook' card from my deck to my hand." A card ejected itself from his deck again, and Alexander added it to his hand. "I'll place 2 cards face down, and end my turn," Alexander ended.

Turn 4: Moros

Alexander - 4000LP, 1 card -> 2 monster, 3 facedown
Moros - 4000LP, 3 cards -> 1 monster, 2 facedowns

"Alright time to really heat things up, I'll activate my-" Moros paused in thought. This chain of actions was going to lead to Alexander taking a hit of 7300. That could probally actully do some damage, and he didn't need to do that in order to just win the duel. "Uh, never mind, Normal Summon, King of Skull Servants." A large skeleton robed in purple appeared on the field next to the crowned prince and nodded at it respectfully. "He gains strength from his fallen servants, since there are six of them in the graveyard he has 6000 ATK. Now King of Skull Servants destroy Magical Exemplar with Revenge Blast!" The regal skeleton nodded and once again the dark orb of power that had defeated two duelists this torunament already softly floated in front of Alexanders monster.

Alexander noticed his opponent's hesitation and wondered what could have caused it, but that train of thought vanished after seeing his 6000 ATK 'King'. Fortunately, Alexander was not without defenses.

"Trap Card activate! 'Mirror Force'!" Alexander countered. "When an opponent's monster attacks, all your Attack position monsters are destroyed!" The dark orb struck a transparent barrier that protected 'Exemplar', then the force of the attack was redirected back at the 'King'.

"As I thought," Moros muttered, "then I have no choice," Louder he said, "I'll chain the trap card Tyrant's Tribute, I can tribute one monster to make all my other monsters immune to the effects of trap cards, and I tribute Wightprince. His effect activates sending 1 Lady in Wight and 1 Skull Servant to the Graveyard raising King of Skull Servants ATK to 9000!"

Alexander grimaced, but he still had one more card to play, literally. "If that's your game, then I'll chain my Quick-Play Spell Card: 'Book of Moon'!" Alexander countered, raising a face down card. "This forces your monster into a face down position!"

Moros grinned, well all in all that had been exciting but he didn't have another card to counter that so his King of Skull Servants flipped facedown the; dark energy vanishing with him. "Very well then, your turn." As he thought, this was an exciting duel.

Turn 5: Alexander

Alexander - 4000LP, 2 cards -> 2 monsters, 1 facedown
Moros - 4000LP, 3 cards -> 1 monster, 1 facedown, 1 Trap

Alexander drew his next card and added it to his hand. He barely managed to get out of that, and Alexander had next to no defenses left. He would have to be far more careful around that 'King' of his. Fortunately, a card he needed had come up.

"I'll discard one card in order to Special Summon 'The Tricky' from my hand!" Alexander said, the oddly dressed creature appearing on the field.

The Tricky - Level 5, ATK 2000

"Now I activate the effect of my 'Magical Exemplar'! By removing any number of Spell Counters, I can Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard with the same Level as the amount of Spell Counters removed," Alexander explained. "By removing 2 Spell Counters, I can Special Summon my Level 2 'Arcane Apprentice' from my Graveyard!"

Two of the dark orbs floating around 'Exemplar' disappeared, and a magic circle appeared next to her. From that circle appeared the brown-and-blue robed creature.

Arcane Apprentice - ATK 1000

"I Tune my Level 2 'Arcane Apprentice' with my Level 5 'Tricky'!" Alexander said, the two monsters rising up into the air. 'The Tricky' transformed into 5 glowing stars, and 'Arcane Apprentice' transformed into two green rings. "Wielder of sealed arcane magicks! Use our power and destroy all who oppose us!" Alexander chanted as the stars aligned themselves between the rings. "Synchro Summon! 'Arcanite Magician'!" The white robed mage appeared on the field, ready for battle.

[b]Arcanite Magician - Level 7, ATK 400[b]

"When 'Arcanite Magician' is Synchro Summoned, he gains 2 Spell Counters, and 1000 ATK for each one!" Alexander explained.

Arcanite Magician - ATK 400 --> ATK 2400

"Also, when 'Arcane Apprentice' is used as Synchro Material, I can add one 'Assault Mode Activate' from my deck to my hand!" Alexander said, adding the ejected card to his hand.

"Now for 'Arcanite Magician's' effect! By removing a Spell Counter from anywhere on my field, I can destroy one card my opponent controls!" Alexander said, an orb floating away from 'Magical Exemplar' and into the head of 'Arcanite Magician's' staff, turning it black. 'Arcanite Magician' then pointed it at the face down 'King of Skull Servants' and fired a bolt of black lightning at it, destroying it.

Moros frowned breifly, he had been hoping that it would be destroyed by battle so he could activate its effect but it wasn't really that important. Zombie monsters never stayed in the grave for long.

"Plus, as long as I've got Spell Counters, I can keep using 'Arcanite Magician's' effect!" Alexander said, another orb floating away from 'Magical Exemplar' and into the head of 'Arcanite Magician's' staff. 'Arcanite Magician' fired another Bolt of dark lightning at the second face down on Moros' field.

"Impressive, that monster really is strong with the right setup." Moros muttered, "However, I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop you there." He hadn't wanted to use this card yet but since Alexander hadn't destroyed his King by battle, he had little choice. "I activate my trap card Fiendish Chain. It can target 1 effect monster and make it unable to attack or activate it's effects." True to the card's name dark evil looking chains wound around Arcanite Magician rendering it helpless.

Alexander had been expecting some sort of Trap card, and already had something for it. "I activate a Quick-Play Spell card: 'Spellbook of Wisdom!' This allows a Spellcaster-type monster I control to be unaffected by either Trap cards or other Spell cards until the End Phase!" Alexander said. "Of course, I pick Trap cards." 'Arcanite Magician' then emitted a bright flash of light, and the chains broke off. Meanwhile, the black lightning continued forwards to destroy the Trap card from which the chains came from.

"Now for the final one!" Alexander said, 'Arcanite Magician' firing yet another black bolt of lightning at 'Tyrant's Temper', destroying it as well. "Finally, I switch 'Defender' to Attack mode and move on to the Battle Phase!" Alexander declared. "'Arcanite Magician', attack him directly with White Discharge!" 'Arcanite Magician' complied, firing a bolt of white lightning from his staff.

Moros grunted as the attack struck him, reducing his LP to a measly 1600. It stung, sure, but he'd had worse. Like the time he had been magic cylindered for 8000, now that had stung. But he wasn't out for the count that easily, "I'll activate the effect of Gorz, The Emissary of Darkness. When I control no cards and take Battle Damage I can Special Summon him and summon a token equal to the battle damamge I took." A dark armored warrior appeared and smaller version appeared. The bigger one fancied an impressive number of 2700 and the smaller one had 2400.

Alexander grimaced. None of his monsters had enough ATK points to defeat either monster, but then he remembered he could still use 'Arcanite Magician's' effect though at the cost of ending his Battle Phase first. Alexander made up his mind. "Before I end my turn, I'll use two more Spell Counters to destroy both your 'Gorz' and the token he's Summoned," Alexander said, 'Arcanite Magician' firing two more black bolts of lightning at them, destroying them. "I'll play one card face down and end my turn," Alexander ended.

Turn 6: Moros
Alexander - 4000LP, 0 cards -> 3 monsters, 1 facedown
Moros - 1600LP, 3 cards

Moros looked at his hand, this duel was going to end this turn one way or another. Either he would beat Alexander or watch his LP drop to 0 next turn. "Alright first things first I'll play Dark World Dealings, this lets us both draw then discard 1 card." Moros drew his card and then discarded Mezuki to the grave, "Perfect, Now I'll activate Mezuki's effect and banish him from my graveyard to Special Summon one Zombie monster from my Graveyard to the Field, Lady in Wight." The royal lady with her ovesized head complete with the throne appeared on the field. "Next up is Book of Life, this lets me Special Summon 1 Zombie from my Graveyard and banish one monster from yours. I'll banish your Arcane Apprentice and Special Summon my King of Skull Servants back to the field with 8000 ATK! There's no defense now for you now, King, attack Magicial Exemplar with Revenge Blast!" The regal skeleton gave the orb of destruction a push and it once again exploded in a fearsome purple skull.

Unfortunately for Alexander, Moros was right. He was out of defenses to save his Life Points. 'Magical Exemplar' was destroyed, and Alexander's Life Points dropped to zero. As the Solid Vision faded, Alexander turned off his Duel Disk. He had done his best, but apparently even that wasn't enough. Oh well, what's done was done. Alexander walked over to Moros and said, "Good Duel," extending his hand for a handshake.

Moros grinned and returned the handshake, "Good Duel? That was a great duel, you nearly got me, thanks for the game." he said excitable clearly happy both to have won and simply to have dueled with Alexander.
But I'm already using Spell Counters :(
Quick question: What if the whole deck is made of original cards? Is that possible as long as the effect's are balanced?

I think some of us are actually doing that. Knock yourself out.
Ferghus, after sending his Arma Igna into the world, had chosen to reside in his forge, only creating what he could in his forge. The walls, the racks, even the tables were filled with tools, weapons, and armor. Of course, there were pieces that he was not satisfied with and chose to improve them, or, when it no longer interested him, discard them. Life went on for the ruggedly handsome blacksmith.

However, there came a time when Ferghus realized something: he was bored. Yes, bored of his activity in the forge. He had explored much of his ability, and knew he still had more to do, but it no longer interested him as much as it did when he first started. What was he to do? How could he relieve his boredom? He ponder long and hard, but to no avail. There was nothing to inspire him within his forge. Within his forge.... hmm, an idea came to Ferghus. His forge was his domain, but that was the problem: it was too familiar now. Ferghus needed to explore and find works of inspiration in the outside world.

For the first time in several years, which was not actually that long for a god, he exited his private domain and looked upon the planet Galbar. Of course, things had changed. The humans had grown more advanced, no doubt with help from his Arma Igna. The Dyun were facing extinction, which wasn't that much of an issue. Even new creatures of water-men or whatever they were called, no doubt a creation of Undasis', appeared. Of course, it wasn't just the sentient life that had changed; the planet itself seemed a bit more... lively, with more greenery than before, especially in the southern areas.

Well, all of that was of little concern to him. Ferghus used a portion of his energy to power up. He needed some more power for things he had planned. He mentally checked the status of the ten Arma Igna, and found that only 1 of them were living with sentient life; 4 were not, 2 seemed to have perished, and the last 2 were somehow indeterminate. He would check on those last two when he had the chance; chances were one or more of the other gods had been toying with them. Ferghus then created an Avatar at the eastern edge of the continent, where the land and the sea met, then Ferghus forcibly teleported the 6 Arma Igna he could still sense. The Arma Igna were frozen for a brief second, seemingly confused as to what had happened, then knelt in front of Ferghus' Avatar upon spotting it.

"Fiery one," they all said in greeting. The Ferghus Avatar nodded, then asked, "What news do you bring?"

One of them, the first Arma Igna to be created, stood up and said, "I have made contact with a human named 'Zerabil'. I have taught him the ways of the forge, and he has spread that knowledge along with the knowledge of the other gods to his fellow humans. Many have chosen to accept you and become your follower. He has also seen fit to grant me the name of 'Rejys'."

Ferghus nodded in approval. "Not bad. Not bad at all," Ferghus remarked. He had not thought to give his Arma Igna names. Perhaps the humans could do that for him, though, if not the other sentient life on the planet. Ferghus then turned to the second Arma Igna to make contact. "What about you? How has your journey been?"

The second one stood up and reported, "I too have made contact with a tribe of humans, the leader of which was a man named 'lalu'. I have taught them the ways of the forge as directed, but they chose to reject you in favor of their 'Mighty One', and banished me while keeping the teachings of the forge."

Ferghus' eyebrow then twitched. "Oh really?" Ferghus said in mild annoyance. "Perhaps I shall go and visit this tribe when I have the chance."

Ferghus listened to the reports of the last Arma Igna, but their reports gave little to nothing of value. That was rather depressing. "Thank you all for your time, now return to the land and resume the teachings of the forge." Ferghus then pointed to the second one and said, "You are staying with me for the time being. I must learn more about this tribe that has shown such disrespect."

Ferghus now returned his full attention to himself and decided that he needed to be a little bit more busy on this planet. Question was, how to do it? Ferghus thought for a minute or so, then had an idea. Focusing on the planet, he used his control over fire to melt the earth far beneath the surface of the planet, but not far enough to affect the Astral Home. Ferghus also made sure that the magma would not affect the Planet Cord. The magma, now creating pressure within the planet, created more than a few tremors around the planet for a brief moment before creating cracks on the inside of the earth. Fortunately, not all of those cracks actually reached all the way through to the surface, and most of them were on the ocean surface. Chances are, the mortals, and possibly even the other gods, would notice that. Oh well, what's done was done.

To be oh so convenient, one of those cracks had appeared near Ferghus' Avatar. Ferghus returned his attention to his Avatar and teleported both it and the Arma Igna back. Now he willed the magma underneath the crack to rise, raising the earth to go with it. A strong tremor was felt, and even the Arma Igna could not maintain their footing. Fortunately, the tremor only lasted a few seconds, but within those few seconds, the first volcano, Mt. Vulcan, was born.

Ferghus then hollowed out a portion of the volcano, creating a large room that Ferghus then teleported into. Within that room, Ferghus created a forge, much like the one within his own personal plane of existence. However, there were several differences, most notably that this forge harnessed both the power of the volcano and the water from the ocean. There were torches to illuminate the inside, as well as the tools he needed to work with. There was a clear path that led from the outside to the inside, with a door of metal barring the way. The forge was complete. Ferghus then teleported back outside to where the Arma Igna was waiting and commanded, "Now, tell me what you know about these humans."

After a brief explanation of them, Ferghus then nodded and said, "Thank you. Now, go inside the forge and wait for further instructions." As the Arma Igna obeyed, Ferghus opened his palm and breathed a stream of fire into it, creating a small orb. Tossing it to Rejys, Ferghus explained, "That will return you to the humans you were living with, Rejys. One use only, though." "The rest of you, go out and search once more. If you happen to find sentient life, tell them that the first forge of the gods is here." All of them nodded and said, "Fiery one," then walked off. Rejys, however, smashed the teleportation orb onto the ground, engulfing himself in fire for a moment before disappearing.

Ferghus teleported his Avatar back into Mt. Vulcan, then Ferghus himself went back into the Forge, where he examined his collection of work. There were things to see and people to do now.

Yo @Ryuzaki, I noticed that you seem to be using first person. Not saying that's a bad thing or anything, just incredibly weird considering the rest of us are using third person.
Right now, I'm just waiting for Keyblade to continue the Duel. Busy guy, he is.
oki doki. I'm having a real hard time because I want to use a deck of cards I actually use for my character but some cards added in are only on duelist network :P

If they're on Duelingnetwork, then they're good to go for this rp. Mostly, at least. Like, if they have super rare cards that only certain characters in the series have, then you should make a good excuse for you to have that card. You know, like, if Yusei Fudo was your character's grandfather or whatever and that's why you have Stardust Dragon.
for Phase Shift monsters are we allowed to make our own?

Of course. How else are these things gonna exist?

Just make sure they're balanced and stuff, all that good stuff.
