So, uh... ET on when we can start rolling the ball? I'd consider this a sufficient number of characters to start.
I think I'm gonna enjoy playing as the one non-mutant here.
Name: Bozak

"Bozak is Bozak."

Age: 43

"Old? Bozak not old. Bozak experienced."

Gender: Male

"Bozak is man. Big man. Strong man."

Nomadic or Sedentary: Nomadic

"Bozak never stays. Staying is not good for Bozak."

Weapons: Bozak loads himself down with quite a few offensive tools. He keeps with him a 12-gauge hunting shotgun, which is his primary death-dealer, and a .44 magnum revolver at his side. Besides those two guns are his rather large hunting knife, his fire axe, and his pair of weathered brass knuckles. Traveling light is not a familiar concept with him.

"Bozak would take even more with him if he were not already having so much."

Skills: From past experiences that took place both before and after the war, Bozak has accrued all the necessary survival skills to live amidst the dangers of the US wasteland. Setting up camps, starting fires, hunting critters, all the good stuff. More so, over two decades of harsh traveling and violent encounters have given the man plenty of experience in hunting down mutants, both human and otherwise. He considers that his most valuable skill of all.

"To live in this world, must know how to do things. Bozak has learned how to do many things. So Bozak will always live."

Any Unusual Traits? Does it Show Physically?: As far as anyone can tell from looking, Bozak’s a normal human being. Maybe not normal personality-wise but that’s beside the point.

"Bozak is not mutant. Mutants bad. Bozak is not bad. Bozak is human."

Appearance: Bozak stands rather tall at a little over six feet, though his equipment definitely adds a bit to his height. His gut may look weighty but there’s definitely some bulk around his upper torso to offset that. He wears a gas mask over his face pretty much at all times, refusing to take it off when he’s around other folks. All that’s visible is his short, messy, dark brown hair, shaved along the back and sides. He wears an olive green tank top underneath a mess of bandoliers and pockets, exposing his tanned arms riddled with marks of the past. A pair of fingerless gloves, dark gray combat trousers, black boots, and a few more belts and pockets complete his getup.

"Bozak looking good these days."

Brief Personality: Bozak, at first, is a bit difficult to figure out. All the talking he does makes him out to be something of a hunter-survivor-philosopher combination, though the last bit can definitely be substituted with other names (psycho, thug, etcetera). He doesn’t display any direct hostility at folks he passes by but he’s definitely not a Good Samaritan right off the bat either. He leans more towards letting everyone else do their thing while he does his. If someone wants to talk to him, he’s likely to humor them for a good bit to pass the time. Although there’s some topics he’ll inadvertently render uncomfortable for whoever’s in his company. All in all, a decent man, but maybe not companion material.

"Bozak is simply who Bozak wishes to be. Some people like Bozak, others do not. Bozak is okay with this."

Background: This is actually one topic Bozak will steer in a bunch of directions. Where he’s from, where he’s going, why he calls himself Bozak instead of his real name (which he keeps a secret), everything. In truth, Bozak likes to say that most everything before now just isn’t important enough to talk about. But he will definitely regale his past combat experiences and hunting accomplishments, taking great pride in the mutants he’s killed at the behest (and hiring) of communities he’s passed through. In fact he’ll claim he has something of a reputation around the southeast US, but surely nothing substantial enough to carry his name past him as he travels up north, towards New York City.

"Want to know about Bozak? Bozak tell you the good things, not the important things."

Alone or with Someone?: Bozak travels alone.

"Bozak not walk well with others. Bozak walk better on his own."

Other: Bozak refers to himself in the third person. This gets on peoples’ nerves sometimes.

"Feh. Bozak ignore them. Bozak can talk however he wishes to talk."
Yeh.

Day 2 in Verthaven

I'm afraid I can't say much here that'd be different from what I've said about Black Fall or Stadium City, except the scenery. The weather's not deadly here but I'm no fan of it either. Had to swap out my sweaters and jeans for better options if I didn't want to get a heat stroke. Besides all that, Verthaven seems the liveliest out of the four I’ve been to so far. But at the same time it just seems so similar. Like it follows the same formula, just mixes the names and appearances up. That's how it's been for all the meta-human hotspots so far. It's not a bad thing per say, but I still find it odd. And I don't know how many people besides me notice it. Not about to go around and ask though.

Rented a room in the Stardust Hotel. Doubles as a club but I doubt I'll be attending any parties here. Heard about a summer festival happening later today but, not going anywhere near it. As much as I want to jump the talking-to-meta-humans hurdle, these festivals have been a thing in most of the places I’ve visited, and they have never turned out perfect. There’s always something that happens because of the major concentration of meta-humans in one spot, and it’s just hazardous for everyone involved. So yeah, I’m skipping it.

Jeez, I’m really looking for any excuse I can use here. I’m just going to stay in the hotel and read up on the town. Get myself ready to take the proper tour tomorrow.

…

ā€œYeah. Yeah, no, card’s fine.ā€

Francis was seated on his bed, watching the television, laptop rested on his legs, phone at his ear. He was having the usual check-up with his mother. Dad wasn’t available to talk this time, nor was Olivia. But it didn’t matter.

ā€œHotel’s nice. Bit flashy but, that’s all really.ā€

He was bringing up sites about Verthaven on his laptop. Locales, history, the like. Although as he searched, the word he wasn’t at all a fan of after his experiences in the other cities began to pop up. Gangs. In every city, without fail, there were gangs. And Francis had come to the conclusion that an inevitable side-effect of the meta-human collective was the formation of gangs. Definitely not a revolutionary realization, but oh well. He’d have to stay away from the known districts and establishments that were marked for activity. Lest he end up-

Sound of a news broadcast chiming in broke his train of thought.

ā€œBreaking news from the ongoing Summer Festival – a hostile incursion is currently underway by the gang calling themselves ā€œthe Fiendsā€ā€¦ā€

Francis looked up from his laptop and watched the television begin displaying an overhead view of the festival grounds. As the reporter listed off details and warnings, he watched the crazed men in gas masks running around shooting the place up. And it just… it clicked. This had to happen. To prove his point. Not that he was making that point to anyone, but still. He watched the offensive rage on, and the on-point authorities – the VPD, and of course, NEST – counteracting the situation. And then it just came back to him that he hadn’t responded to his mother’s inquiry about the weather.

ā€œHey I have to go, I’ll call you back.ā€

All he said. Then he hung up without another word. He set his phone aside and watched the incident play on, the reporter’s commentary dwindling some.

Maybe it would have been a better idea to cut the trip short after Mendel.
... You still suck, Septic.

The jackal's lanyard.

As was the outcome of a relatively short conversation of concern, I've decided to fuck off. Not out of malice, mind you. Was all good and friendly.

You folks take care.
