Personality: Presenting himself as rather cold and unattached, James has a personality expected of a seasoned assassin rather than that of a young man not even out of his teens. He is able to change his demeanour quickly, adapting to what he perceives to be the best course of action if he needs to, but his usual personality is gentlemanly but cold. He upholds good manners, but rarely smiles and doesn't care for the emotional state of those he is talking to. When angered, he behaves in much the same way as he usually does, but is notably more violent. He is also harsh against those that he views as wasting time or incompetent.

Despite this, he can come across has more easy going and caring around people he trusts, including his Servant and his family. He likes to banter with his servant while not fighting, and will occasionally make witticisms about events or circumstances. He doesn't show regret or remorse for what he has done, or how he lives, but occasionally admits regret about leaving his family behind when they needed him.

Biography: Born and raised to a minor magus family in England, James has always been an outlier to normal mage society. He was largely disinterested in the magical training and was more interested in things typical of normal boys, but still excelled in his lessons out of respect for his parents. His sister was born 4 years after him, and they were very close from the start. This all changed when he turned 12, when his family was attacked by a group of rogue magi. His father was killed, his sister crippled and his mother also seriously injured while he himself was rendered unconscious with multiple severe injures, but not before he witnessed a freelance spell-caster eliminate them all using a combination of magecraft and kenjutsu (japanese swordplay). The woman, Shirogane Aoi, was incredibly skilled and defeated them all without a scratch. This event and the injures he received to his magic circuits caused his origin to change as a result of a hatred of mages he had very quickly grown.

When he recovered enough, he sought her out and begged for her to train him. After weeks of begging, she finally relented and took him under wing. After informing his mother of his decision, he had to leave her and his sister (who was put into a coma to help her heal) to travel with Aoi while he trained as an assassin specialising in anti-mage contracts. In the following 6 years, he trained in many skills, magical (even developing a unique form of magecraft) and non-magical (including Marksmanship, Kenjutsu and 3 languages; German, Russian and Japanese). In that time, they also investigated the group that attacked his family, but Aoi refused to allow him to hunt them down until he was ready. On his 18th birthday, she let him go before mysteriously disappearing. He hasn't seen her since.

After taking down the ringleaders of the group in a string of systematic assassinations, he travelled back to England to reunite with his family. Already aware of the grail wars, his subconscious wish to save and protect his family marked him as a Master for the next war.

His eyes locked onto his target, Venator pulled his blade back as it bounced off of the chainsaw's flat side and prepared to strike again. He needed to avoid getting blade-locked, lest he risk the vibrations numbing his arm, so he adopted a strategy of quick slashes intermittently interrupted with strong stabs. With any luck, he could put her completely on the defensive and push the match a little more in his favour. If he could avoid it, he wouldn't use any of the tricks up his sleeve and would win through skill.

This armoury contains multitude of traps, blades, firearms and other such tools, but more powerful tools are more costly to summon. His strongest weapon is his A-ranked Mechanical Crossbow, which is actually the sealed form of another more costly Noble Phantasm. Most of his weapons are B or C ranked.

Description: This noble phantasm channels Archer's roots as a hunter to prey upon the weaknesses of its targets. Requiring Archer to be aware of his target's True Name, his weapon can be unsealed and the bolts become imbued by the very concept of that weakness, or their Achilles's heel. A Servant who's legend ended with poison would be struck with an incurable venom, or a servant of ice would be thawed by inextinguishable flame, for example. A taxing Noble Phantasm, Archer must wait at least 72 hours before he can use it again, and at least 12 hours before he can use Hunter's Tools. During this time, he is slightly weakened and is less effective in combat. Only Servants with high enough Endurance or Mana Stats can endure a blow from this Phantasm, A Ranked or higher on it's own or B with Magic resistance Ranked A or Higher.

Abraham Van Helsing

Abraham Van Helsing started life as a humble, but talented doctor. In his first adventure, he traveled the world and faced a powerful Dead Apostle who had stolen the name of Vlad III. He single handily faced down and defeated the monster but made his first and only mistake in his career. He did not kill it. As a result of this, his close friend Mina Harker was trapped as a Vampire for the rest of her unnatural life. Although he tried to find a cure he could not and Mina fled him and stayed as far away as possible, knowing they would eventually kill one another. Van Helsing swore he would not make the same mistake again. He was brutal and remorseless to his prey and showed no mercy - endlessly perpetuating the cycle of vengeance.

Essentially abandoning his previous life, he flung himself into a new line of work and began a dedicated monster hunter. Fuelled by grief and self loathing, he became the best of the best. Vampires. Werewolves. Demons. Ghouls and zombies and ghosts. These terrors hid in every corner of the world. Van Helsing became the torch that shone light upon the darkness before swiftly crushing the monsters head with his boot.

He encountered Bram Stoker, who used his life as a model for his book. The true Van Helsing was much younger and had far more experience, though he much less possessed the same personality - patient, kind, mild-mannered, but with a razor wit and great eye for details. Though Bram Stoker originally wanted to keep the details about Mina true, believing it was a marvellous and realistic tragedy, Van Helsing begged Stoker to give her a happy ending. The fame he gained from the book catapulted him straight to the Throne of Heroes upon death

• Marksmanship
  James has been trained to use a gun since he was 12 years old. He spent over 6 years refining that knowledge and is now deadly skilled with almost every gun he can find. His preferred weapons of choice are medium to long range weapons with a sidearm as a back-up. His hideout for the grail war has several weapons with the appropriate ammo.
• Kenjutsu
  Another skill he has trained since he was 12, his skill with a katana is very finely tuned and he could outskill most opponents of the same field. His katana is very finely made and was a gift given to him by his mentor Aoi on his 18th birthday before she let him go and disappeared herself. James has this sword on a stand in his hideout and, in combat, instead uses his old sword, a plain katana that he used during his training.
• Weapon Maintenance
  An important part of using weapons to fight is making sure that they are cared for properly, so that they operate as smoothly as possible. James knows his weapons inside and out, both his guns and his swords, so he makes sure to properly maintain them.
• Unarmed Fighting
  As an assassin, James may find himself without a weapon. As such he has trained in a few styles of fighting, most notably being Krav Maga and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He also knows Aikido, if he ever needs to restrain someone without hurting them, but prefers the more brutal, attack-focused style of the other two.
• Languages
  His mentor's work as a freelance meant that she travelled the world while hunting heretical or dangerous magi. When James join her as an apprentice, he too travelled a lot. Thus he learned to pick up languages fairly quickly. He knows 4 Languages fluently: Japanese, German, Russian and French. He sometimes jokes and says he knows 6, if you include 'Bullshit' and 'Sarcasm'.

@vancexentan I've edited Archer. I've added a Bio under his true name, and I've added some info on the 2nd NP. Basically, Servants with A-Ranked Stats can tank the hit, or B class if they have A rank Magic resist.

About the weaknesses thing, I could spend hours listing how it affects different servants but to put it simply, It attacks the most logical weakness, not what killed them. If they were assassinated or executed, the bolt would find and pierce that exact spot again etc but if they died of old age or an accident, it would find their most significant weakness and attack that instead. That includes physical things like Weak spots/gaps in armour, old scars that haven't healed or burning flammable clothing
