Oh my God, I am super interested!!! :D

Yay! I'm so glad! ^^

Intro

It all started with an idea. Just a small hint, nothing huge or complicated. Something that could change the world, make us see the people surrounding us differently. Something that'll make people see that even the most untouchable, seemingly perfect members of our society are human. What if we took the celebrities and set them up with random, normal people? And what if we televised it?

The general plan was to take a handful of celebrities -actors, singers, comedians, anyone well-known enough to have at least a prominent fanbase- and a handful of members of the public and dump them all into a remote, secluded area far from the reach of society. The goal? Well, entertainment of course! There will be highs and lows, fights and make-outs, enemies forming and romance blossoming; all to the joy of the watching public.

So, a mansion was built somewhere near Hawaii suited to house up to twenty guests, the idea was for ten celebrities and ten small-town young adults to be picked at random once applying. For the celebrities, it might just be a publicity stunt, or chance to relax without the constant pressure of being famous. For the small-towns, maybe it's their claim to fame, or maybe they're just looking for love?

Dear _______,

This letter has been sent to inform you that the application that you have sent forward to the 'Strangers' programme has been accepted. As a reminder, a short explanation of the programme will be provided below:

The Strangers Programme provides an opportunity for those seeking more in life, those who are not satisfied with their current social status, or those who just need a chance to let go. Participants will be taken to a luxury mansion located in a secluded area near Hawaii, and joined by nineteen other participants. The programme length depends on viewer interest. The more viewers, the more time the participants will spend in the mansion with the others. Participants consist of ten chosen celebrities, and ten chosen members of the public. It is permitted and encouraged for relationships to be formed and built throughout the experience, for the public's and, more importantly, your own entertainment.

Enclosed in this envelope is a list of necessary items to pack for your trip, your flight times and tickets, and contact information if you have any questions or queries regarding your journey.

We hope to see you in the near future.
Regards,
PCTV [Public-Celebrity Television] Company

The letter was short, sweet and unexpected. Millions of people across the country had applied, what made you so special? Well, there's only one way to find out. Flight times directly to the mansion are at 10AM, so pack your things and get ready for the journey of a lifetime!

OOC Information

Hello there, fellow roleplayers! If you couldn't already tell, this is my first ever time being a GM, so please bear with me and my noob-ness. Basically, this is a roleplay surrounding the participants of a television show similar to Big Brother, but with its differences, of course. Hopefully, there'll be twenty characters being played, but if that needs to be lowered then I can do so. I will not be accepting any more than twenty characters, though, and there must be an even split of both celebrities and small-town characters. But I'll get to that in the rules.

This roleplay is very much dependant on character relationships being built; whether it's love or hate, I don't care! Just as long as there's something to go along with. Due to this relying on character development, there will not be a specific plot to the roleplay, other than the characters being on a television show and living in a mansion together. I'm planning on setting up a video diary-thing (not sure of a name yet) where, every so often, characters will sit themselves down alone with a camera and just express their thoughts. Yes, this will be mandatory and it will have a specific order so that noone's hogging the limelight, but it should provide characters to express their true emotions and feelings for each other without it being the whole hassle of incorporating it into every post. I'm indecisive about a relationship sheet mainly because pretty much all of the characters won't have met each other yet, but one can be formed as the roleplay progresses.

Location

This huge mansion is situated in a small, remote island where nothing can disturb the programme. Is is large and clearly expensive, built with a Victorian upper-class style yet with a twist of modernity. Downstairs consists of the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, and with stairs leading underground to the the games room.

Upstairs is split into ten; each room will consist of the couples matched at the start of the programme. As the programme develops and relationships are formed, rooms may be swapped and traded after a few days.

The attic holds one of the most important rooms; the Diary Room. It is here that each participant will express their feelings on the events that have unfolded throughout the experience.

Outside the Mansion is the beach. It is here that most group activities will take place, set up by the show's unseen crew. This is where the small-towns and celebrities will be matched up and meet each other properly for the first time after being dropped off on the sands.

Rules

1. Follow Guild Rules. If you're not familiar with them, read them here. If I think that anyone is contradicting these rules, I will have to be strict.

2. Respect and kindness between users is a must. Of course, to succeed in a roleplay there are going to be disagreements in opinions, but that does not mean that I will permit any form of bullying or harassment in this thread.

3. GM has the final say. As I mentioned before, this is my first time being a GM, so help will probably be needed. However, I am still in charge and what I say, goes. Constructive criticism is one thing, and taking control is another.

4. Stay active! Yes, I am a big believer in the 'real life comes first' saying, but if you're going to be inactive for an extended period of time it is expected that you let me know either through PM or on the thread.

5. Casual Roleplaying. This is a high-casual to advanced roleplay, and if you cannot handle that then don't join. I'm gonna keep it at a two-paragraph post minimum. Failure to meet these standards will be brought up.

6. Make your voice heard! If you have a problem, question, or query, let me know! I'm here to help and ensure that everyone has the best Roleplaying experience. You must include 'I have read the rules' in red somewhere in your CS to show me that you are aware of the terms and conditions.

7. Have fun! You are here to enjoy yourself! Make sure you do!

Note: Failure to follow these rules, unless in extreme cases, will result in a warning then, if disrespect continues, the user will be kicked the roleplay and we will roleplay your character leaving the island.

Character Rules

- Character Sheets that have not yet been accepted should be posted in the OOC section of the thread in a hider with the character's name.
- There will be two seperate character sheets that need to be filled out. I will post the first one below and, once your character has been accepted, I will PM you the second sheet.
- Having an equal number of small-town and celebrity characters is necessary. Genders are not as important seeing as there will most likely be a variety of sexualities, but I recommend that the numbers gender-wise are also roughly equal.
- Perfect characters will not be permitted. Every characters must have their flaws and weaknesses as well as their strengths.
- Celebrity characters can be real or made-up celebrities, as long as everything makes sense. Small-town characters can have a celebrity Faceclaim, as long as you let me know so that I can post a list of taken faceclaims. Real life pictures are encouraged, no anime.

Note: if there's anything at all that I've missed, please let me know- this is my first time so there's bound to be a few slip-ups xD I'm also looking for a Co-GM or two to help with things, so if anyone's interested then shoot me a quick PM ^^
Think I will be making this tonight

Now that the conflict had died down and the tension had been more of less diffused, Iris kept to herself as she usually did, her crystalline gaze tracing the room and analysing each and every being. She kept to Elden's side, a stab of guilt causing her to bite her lip as she darted a glance at him. The feeling was unfamiliar to her, so she paid little attention to it after a few seconds.

She stuck to the back of the procession as they were led to the throne room. Her eyes immediately sought the Iron Throne, an object of which she had only seen illustrations of. It took a lot of effort for her not to raise an eyebrow, the first thought she had was how uncomfortable it looked. The Queen's throne, however, seemed far more suitable and a hidden smile played at the corner of her lips. A part of her, the part with the blood of the Tyrell house, yearned to sit upon it, looking down upon her subjects and have her way. Yet, another mystery part of herself wanted nothing more than adventure, some freedom from this regal stiffness. She was pulled out from her thoughts as the other Wards either knelt or bowed or curtseyed to the man before them and, a second after everyone else, she swept low in a practised curtsey.

Iris' eyes stayed fixed on the proclaimed Dragon who proceeded to greet them with a dismissal comment towards their formality. The statement would normally inspire a warm liking to the man if it wasn't for the fact that he was a Targaryen. She remained upright and proper, her head tilted slightly upwards to display her interest, but not so much so that she seemed disrespectful. The conclusion to the introduction from the King came as a great relief, as Iris felt her jaw ache from the tension in her mouth.

Her gaze briefly followed Elden as he approached the Baratheon boy, but was dragged away by the words of none other than William Lannister himself. Her lips curled upwards in a polite smile at his offer, and she inclined her head as he bowed as a sign of respect. The Tyrells had always been civil with the Lannisters, yet their alliances were somewhat lacking despite their common ground in their view towards the throne. "It would be an honour, my Lord." Her smile widened, revealing youthful dimples.

For a moment, she glanced at the female bodyguard. It was not difficult to sense the girl's unease, and a mischievous part of Iris longed to agitate her further. However, remaining composed, her gaze softened slightly and, unusually so for a woman, she offered out her hand to be taken in escort. It was such a Tyrell gesture, the open friendliness and forward manner of her actions, that it would be hard to believe that she was not of pure blood. "Shall we?"
@EmmaBest wishes go out to you and your family...we'll all miss you greatly. It's horrible how these things happen, I'm sure we're all here if you want someone to talk to, okay?
I'm alive [i hope] I'll get a post up later tonight too! ^^
Yo guys imma be away with my family until Monday, so I doubt I'll be able to fit a post in. I'll try and keep up with the OOC, but I can't really promise anything. Sorry for the inconvenience, haha, I literally had no idea till this morning ^^

The tension in the air was so thick, it would not be too great a task to cut it with a knife. Brandon Baratheon's retort hadn't surprised her in the slightest, and she raised a brow almost as if to say 'is that the best you can do?' She had no wish to quarrel with the Baratheons, and held a respect for the house and their former complicated alliance. Meeting the young man's cold gaze, Iris tilted her head upward in such a manner that she made it clear she wished to take this no further.

That was until Elden spoke up. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, a hint of annoyance crept up into the furrow of her brow at the Bodyguard's words. As always, he meant well, but his anger so often got the better of him. Licking her lips, she darted a glance sideways at him, a silent warning to shut up before any real damage was done. She wasn't angry at the man, no, more exasperated by his lack of polictical intelligence. It was something she had so often tried to explain to him, the alliances and rivalries between the many houses, each family's notch in the Game of Thrones. Yet, he had never seemed to grasp the concept of playing with strategy, much preferring to stride confidently onwards with his straight forward, primarily well-minded intentions.

Her crystalline gaze locked onto the tough-looking girl approaching, and watched as her lips moved, yet the words escaping them too low to be heard by Iris. It was clear by the manner of her stance it was somewhat of a threat, and the sight amused her. A part of her wanted to question what kind of a violent promise the woman was making, yet her attention was momentarily distracted by yet another newcomer. Her lips twitched as she watched the stranger mouth profanities at the sight of the beast making itself at home in the center of the room, and her gaze swept over her apparel out of curiosity. Very much different to the other women and her own dress, it consisted of materials one would usually relate to a kind of sailing attire. Almost fully turning to regard the assumed Greyjoy girl with open curiosity, she opened her mouth to introduce herself, before being interrupted by a loud voice clearly addressed to all of the occupants of the room.

'Aeryn Sand at your service, I would like to welcome you all and inform you that Lady Myriah will be down here soon to welcome you as well, in saying that...I would suggest you begin to calm down and lay aside any and all prejudices of the old or things may not be pleasant in your stay here”
The words caused Iris to bristle with annoyance. Why should they care anymore for a Targaryen girl as opposed to anyone else? Oh, right. Because she was the bloody princess.

However, despite her agitation, she proceeded to take into account this Aeryn Sand's advice and turned to Brandon Baratheon. "We have not come here for petty squabbles, as I hope neither have you. Our presence here should be enough to express our willingness for peace." Her lips turned up in a smile, "And I find it hard to believe that it will be difficult for us to get along." In such a Tyrell way, Iris' words could be taken two ways; either flirtatious or just naively friendly. The way her voice lingered on the word us, however, suggested the former but, either way, any former threat she had posed had all but disappeared.

The scene unfolding before her became rather too much for Iris to bear. After another long minute of watching the group of wards attempting to socialise, she let out a long sigh. Why was she here? She was surrounded by a group of children. It was as her eyes rested on the assumed Stark girl that her gaze frosted over, betraying nothing but cool contempt. She watched as the girl's eyes flickered over Elden, and a stab of hot jealousy flared up in her mind. It was a mere glance. She reasoned with herself, dragging her gaze away before any offence could be taken. She did not fancy herself in love with her bodyguard, she had concluded a while back. Yet, he was still hers, enough so for her to feel a sharp sense of possessiveness over him. Their odd relationship certainly wasn't easy, what with loyalty towards each other not being a priority, and their love for sex winning out over any false pretences that they should be chivalrous with one another.

It had taken Iris mere seconds for her gaze to analyse every single one of the other wards, and her lack of control of the situation soon resulted in her shifting uncomfortably. "They're all so pretty, aren't they?" She murmured, not needing to look back to know that Elden was listening. There was something about the girl's tone that suggested that she wasn't quite fine with that fact. Her moment of insecurity to was soon replaced by a tone laced with amusement, and perhaps a hint of sarcasm. "Noble blood is just precious these days."

She shifted away from the chair she had originally planned to sit on, now indecisive about whether to introduce herself or not. Her decision was made for her as the doors burst open to reveal a proud, swaggering figure. As the figure entered the room, they were revealed to be female, probably a very attractive one if it were not for the bristling anger seemingly oozing from the girl's demeanour. Her words were sharp, yet pathetic to Iris and, for the first time in front of the other wards, she spoke up.

"What a pleasure to finally meet a...Lady of the Arynn House."
She purred, her lips now turned upwards in a smile that could only belong to a Tyrell. "Although, I must say, your sense of humour really is disappointing. One would think that after such a long time of hiding away, you could have at least rehearsed your irony." Iris proceeded to pick at the embroidery of the backing of the chair next to her, something typically seen as unladylike yet somehow still graceful with her lithe fingers and the intent of her gaze. "Is it really that difficult to actually think before making oneself heard?"

The formality of her tone was stiff, something she only referred to when her desire was to sound superior. It was something she had picked up in the tribulations of Tyrell politics; when wanting to be right, one had to first sound right.
I'm indecisive about waiting for @Xtreme to post before I make my second post, as Elden and Iris should be together, or just going ahead. I think I'll wait a few more hours then see ^^

And, in other news, FIRST EPISODE IS AIRING TONIGHT :D but I live in Scotland and it comes out at 2 in the morning so I have to wait until I can watch it without any distractions during the day X_X
