[I'm actually intending to refine this some, I can't shake the feeling that there's more I can do to improve the CS and my intended air of a 'mystery'. But I'm going to be busy for the rest of today, my father is currently in the hospital trying to find out why there's fluid around his lungs, hopefully it turns out okay and I'll be back before long to fix any issues someone might bring up.]

Name – Astavyastamaina marpunu [He just goes by Asta]
Age – Unknown
Gender – Male
Sexuality – Undefined
Appearance – He's a rather odd looking person, seemingly not an inch of his body is actually visible, fairly tall and covered from head to knee's in a strangely fibrous looking white material that appears to be done up in a cloak of sorts. There is clearly something worn under it, as there is are thick leather sleeves protruding from it, though they look needlessly wide and they terminate in a pair of gauntlets that are attached to the sleeve's outer edges and almost seem as if they are sealing them. These gauntlets appear to be made of some form of chitinous material, as if they were made from the pieces of some over-sized bug monster, the boots might be similar, though there is some slightly obscuring mist lingering at the base of his cloak that blurs the view beneath it.

More note-worthy still is the helmet, also wrapped in the strange white stuff and comprised of a large green orb whose surface creates the illusion of a giant eye that turns in whichever direction it is viewed from.

Land of Origin – He doesn't remember where he came from before.
Covenant – Marpu yokka margam [The path of Change]
Personality – Asta comes across as a bit of a loon, not a violent one, just a real odd-ball, with strange mannerisms and an equally strange language that joins his speech from time to time. He often seems to take nothing as seriously as anyone he meets, but the smart traveler of Lordran would easily consider that, like countless other things in this land, there is more to him than meets the eye.

He bears strong beliefs about the undeadening, some which differ intensely from most groups and, while he may not have personal problems against certain groups, some of them may have issues with 'him', particularly since he is not shy about sharing his strange philosophy with whoever will listen, though he still refrains from wanton preaching.

Magical Traits –

Biography – He doesn't remember where he came from, and only a few tidbits of who he used to be that he decided were worth recreating, mainly some personality traits, especially those that set the foundation for his philosophy, skills, and useful knowledge. Otherwise, he considers his 'old self' to be dead and gone in favor of the new self, in standing with his philosophy, the process of becoming undead was simply the death of his old life, which he released to oblivious in favor of going head-long into forging a new life, one full of change rediscovery.

He does not view the undeadening as a curse, but simply another stage in life that gives him the chance to become a whole new person! In fact, he came to Lordran seeking adventure, and prophecies tended to be great guides to finding exactly that! The interesting people sure don't hurt the experience either.

What he 'does' remember is that since becoming undead, he has never felt freer, letting the old slip away in order to discover the new, ever changing as he forges new memories, finds new knowledge, and learns new skills to play with... He can't imagine why anyone would be afraid of new things!

Miscellaneous – Other information you want to include.
New thought, you know having one big group of undead roaming around sure seems like it would be strange or make the setting easy. Unless of course there were far more creatures lurking behind ever corner. Though that could make combat more repetitious. I feel splitting groups up would be logical, though GMing for two or more different groups at the same time could become confusing. What about some people staying at the shrine in order to rest or something to that effect? Just some thoughts, though I could be completely inept at this subject.

I actually 'was' wondering why there weren't more enemies around XD I figured either most of them had 'eaten' eachother for humanity long ago, or it's just because it's set to be doable by a single person.
Shoryu you are still welcome to join! You can use stuff from Dark Souls 2 but just try to consider that Drangleic came long after Lordran (At least that's my interpretation; yours could be different) so be mindful of which equipment you use.

Woo! I'll crank out a character sometime this afternoon. Also, I would have responded much sooner, but the new site setup fooled me into thinking there hadn't been a reply yet, I've gotta get used to the 'tabbed threads'.

And I believe our interpretations of the timeline are similar! I remember watching some convincing youtube videos clarifying speculatory evidence that made lots of sense.

So basically, no 'one of a kind' or 'legendary' items, none o that boss armor or spells, or things that couldn't have existed back in the days of Lordran.

Also, DAMNIT! Am I the only one who still can't bring myself to murder that lovable oaf of a sun bro?!

Highly considering scrapping Mardrin. After finishing my intro post I realized how difficult it is to write about someone who fights with tentacles and not make it sound like tentacle rape is imminent in every situation. I can have another up in a jiffy after work; would you mind Leslie?

Update: I replaced Mardrin in the character page, but can always edit it. Let me know what you think.

Oh hey, I just finished reading through all of the OOC posts so far :D and i felt compelled to comment on 'this' for some reason...

The trick to fighting with tentacles is to develop the understanding that no matter how much T.R. there might 'be' out there to give them the Stigma, There's always innocent little tentacles being looked down upon while they aren't being evil or lewd D:

also, thank you! Ironically, stopping to think up that silly line I just typed out, gave me some ideas to add to the list for my own character >3>
This is merely a synopsis, I have much more I'm putting together right now but thought I'd check for interest 'while' I'm doing that instead of waiting.

Note: Many term may change, like replacing 'mad scientists' with a legitimate faction name, citing specific worlds, things like that.

First, I'm referring to 'weird science' in the sense of some super-natural settings that call it such resembling steam-punk or magi-tech visually, but putting out everything from surprisingly durable rickety looking cyborgs with built in machine guns and lightning cannons, to impossible machines able to shred the very fabric of reality and warp the barriers between worlds. Basically the stuff of mad scientists with modern power thrown in, they already bend magic, chemicals, and even the fabric of worlds, and now they seek the soul, to quantify it scientifically and mine it for more resources of expected unimaginable power.

Now then, the modern world at large has been fighting to hold back Mad scientists with shockingly much power for the scrappy looking things they create who managed to get a foot-hold in and have held off and harassed the rest of our world for decades while they dig their way into other worlds to find new things to tinker with to overwhelm resistance. As if their tampering with fundamental forces of nature had offended some form of higher power, new and old things awakened, magic, recessive DNA, and more importantly connections to other worlds, though non-traversable in the physical sense at this point, lead to alliances the likes of which few imagined possible, and yet...

The fight had seemed to be turning away from the favor of the Mad scientists, with the newly awakened tools and allies at work they were beat back seemingly right out of our world... Only to return en masse suddenly, from some otherworldly place they had taken control of, with greater numbers and power than before, barely being forced into yet another stalemate. It seemed like this was a war with no clear end in sight, an arms race where the winner could well save or destroy numerous worlds, or worse...

Naturally, when someone kicks humanity in the balls, it gets back up and tells them just what it thinks of their 'superior equipment' and takes it for their own, hence preparations are made to delve into other worlds affected by this war and try to find some hint of the source of power making the Legion's stronger, or failing that, 'more' power to fight back with.

Now then, for those curious, yes, this uses inspiration from a great many things, including a dream that happened just this morning, The incredible adventures of Van Helsing, Dark souls, Secret World, Killing floor might count, possibly wolfenstein, and several other things.

Now then, just as I implied, this is going to be multi-versal, there are 'lots' of possibilities for worlds to visits, or characters to be 'from other worlds', or other elements that may be interesting to include. Just a few possibilities to whet the imagination you could be, from our own world [Soldiers, Magisters both Military/Civilian/otherwise, A 'non mad' scientist working with science], From an alternate earth [could just be used as profile spice, could be a different 'type' of human, a fantasy human style, maybe a hero [note, no 'superman' or 'goku' like stupidly OP dudes, heading 'that' off right away!] or even former villain], Ponies [Yes, I went there, because I'm open minded, and honestly, they'd be a prime target for the mad scientist legions, all that magic, sun moving deities, and no modern military experience? talk about a target that 'looks' easy to just steamroll], Furry things [natural, experiments, aliens, good lord this covers a shit ton of things doesn't it?], or even mechanical things [AI, Synthetics, Cyborgs], the list goes on.

Now then, the final approval on 'risky characters' [seemingly too OP, too ridiculous 'even for this', 'somehow' might not fit?] will be up to the opinion of those involved.
YO! I have been away from this site for an age and a half and came back to find a Dark souls RP 'just' starting from the looks of it... Are you still accepting or was my timing just a little too late? I adore dark souls stuff.

And on a side note, are things from Dark souls 2 accepted [in terms or equipment and spells [not counting the legendary 'some super awesome powerful dude probably invented this one of a kind spell that somehow everyone HAS!' spells]... things like that?]
The Research Wing

Said 'Figure in the containment field' was a being most simply known as Ras, A decidedly benevolent 'Radioactive Monstrosity' Who'd sought out the League for a solution to his problem of being unsafe to interact with, Hence the new project that Henry was working on, and why he was safely surrounded by that containment field... which he still felt the need to poke at from time to time as he spoke through with his mental voice.

"I am glad for that Doctor. It has been something of an ordeal keeping out of the way these past years without suffering from the undesirable side-effects of extended solitude... I must admit however, standing within 'fields' like this have been somewhat of a worry of mine since I first started avoiding contact, the things one tends to hear about what certain groups 'do' when they capture something interesting. I'm actually surprised that I'm not feeling more anxious about being in here."

Ras appeared to be made of a sticky black goo in the shape of something tall and beastly, though it held an oddly blueish tint at the moment, and a glowing sphere roughly the size of a softball was barely visible under it's surface on the side nearest to The good doctor, perhaps making a show of his attention being on his work.
Name: Rasplavleniye [Goes by Rasputin or Ras for simplicity sake, will also answer to 'Rassy']

Codename: Meltdown

Age: 5~

Gender: Identifies as Male

Place of Birth: Chernobyl NPP Zone of Alienation, Ukraine

Affiliations: The League
It's possible that he was once affiliated with the Russian government, but he doesn't remember it.

Occupation: Local Radiation Sink! not officially 'occupied', but he does have a lot of engineering knowledge, a strange imagination, and in depth knowledge about radiation of many types, including solar... He's probably the one to call if your Reactor is about to meltdown.

Appearance:

Powers:

Skills:
Liquid stealth - That is to say, the ability to go unnoticed by virtue of most of his body being a liquid and being able to hide in places few would think anything could hide, or even right under their feet.

Past skills? - He has Engineering and scientific knowledge from... somewhere, he doesn't really know where it came from but he has theories. He's not a super genius or anything but he can hold his own. He has minor knowledge of hand to hand combat training, and basic information on various weapons, mostly of russian design, but not enough to be considered properly 'trained'. He also has extensive knowledge related to Radioation, nuclear science, and other forms of energy, which has only expanded further since he awoke 'living' off of those energies.

Equipment/Resources :
A Special Suit created by Doctor Henry Nguyen - It helps him to refine his energy processing, allowing him to produce more focused and powerful Radioactive projections, as well as re-absorb the expelled energy at a superior rate, minimizing risk of collateral irradiation. It also compounds the protective nature of the fluids around his core by further containing his radioactive energies, minimizing loss and ensuring against any unwanted leakage making him dangerous in the long-term. The Suit is durable enough to shrug off small arms, general debris, and some explosives, Though it also 'contains' his P.M.A.R. Fluids, thus restricting the use of such in combat unless the suit gets damaged.

Musical Device - A Small, water-proofed, solar powered, digital recorder/player that he keeps full of a rediculous variety of songs... He has a powerful liking for music, and seems to be affected by it in unusual ways depends on the type of song, and when one says variety, they mean it... He listens to everything from classical to dub-step, as long as it manages to excite him.

Weaknesses: As the antithisis of Heat, and likewise 'energy', Cold reduces the heat stored in his body or his fluids, causing him to need to expend extra energy to keep up with his usual out-put. He 'can' be frozen, but it's very hard to do so, and it is not fatal so much as forcing his core into a hybernative state that conserves what energy it still contains for later.

His Psycho magnetic field can easily be over-powered by stronger magnetic fields, with effects from greatly disrupting his ability to control the fluids around his core to out-right stripping it, causing a blast from stored energy releasing before his core goes into hybernation to avoid unleashing all hell around him, which coincidentally causes it to stop producing the protective fluids and greatly hardens it's outer shell.

Psychic attacks are a point of uncertainty, he doesn't have any out-standing psychic defenses, but his 'mind' is of a completely different structure from humans... It's not impossible to affect him, but one may have to find the right 'way' to affect him.

His fluid body is, just that, fluids, he is quite limited in how solid he can make it so far, a rubber like consistency is the best he's managed, and while this is good for physical interaction, it provides little defense in a fight against super powers. Bullets and the like may not harm him, but many things can easily 'remove' some of the fluids beyond his range of Psycho magnetism and force him to chase it or produce more, thus expending vital energy to regenerate, and the more energy he expends the smaller and weaker he gets.

His main defense is being tricky with his Vital core, if it is removed, while it is quite dangerous to do so, it also causes him to go into a defensive hybernative state that hardens the core while containing the energy remaining within to prevent a meltdown, but renders him virtually useless outside of psychic communication.

Psychological Profile: Ras shows extensive examples of ignorance and inexperience, though this is understandable being that he'd only been 'alive' for a few years, yet despite this he has already developed a strong Moral compass, or seems to have at least, has a habit of approaching many, new, non hostile things with a child like curiousity. Occasionally he shows a unique sort of wisdom, and tends to interpret things in unexpected ways, he learns quickly, but it's also possible that he could be manipulated unwittingly if he's not careful, for which reason he often 'is' careful about new people he meets, Though he seems slow to 'trust' fully, he doesn't hesitate to give a new person plenty of chance to earn it.

Biography:
Excerpt from Interview with Jennifer Chen after first encounter in America.

"I was discovered in the remains of one of Chernobyl's Reactors, shortly after the Event I heard was called 'The Awakening', an Oddly fitting since It seems that it gave me life. I don't remember what, if anything, took place before the awakening, Though I do have unusual pieces of 'experience' with things that still surfaces from time to time, mostly related to Maintenance and consequences of nuclear power technology... moving on...

when they found me they thought... I don't know, perhaps that I was some strange artifact created by the awakening, That may not entirely inaccurate ultimately, But it seemed that I had been in hibernation until they touched my core, which seems to have been responsible for waking me up. Unfortunately the results of waking up a living nuclear core were...not pretty. It took a while to first start producing this Protective fluid to hold back the excess Off-put, I have since worked a lot on more quickly switching between hibernation and production to minimize exposure time if it ever happens again.

Of course, I had no memories at the time, I didn't know what I was doing, or what I was It was only later I realized how remarkably lucky I was to have encountered a Hermit couple living 'near' the zone instead of soldiers... They were remarkably understanding of the state I was in and didn't seem to fear once they realized I was just 'there' and not attacking, and I actually learned how to speak there, verbally I mean, I could already 'think' at other people, but They helped wake up the rest of 'me', morals, preferences, emotions, gave life to instinctual memories I had... I managed to hide out there for almost a year before someone less local found out about me and, well, I'm sure you know what happens in some countries when words reaches a less than benevolent government official that some potentially exploitable creature has been found

I spent the years since wandering the world, appearing occasionally, but mostly avoiding people... I was kindof unhealthy to be around while I was less experienced in keeping myself 'contained' so I tried my best to simply stay out of the way, to watch and learn about or from people... Until I heard about the League, A group of... people and 'creatures' of different kinds working together? It seemed too good to be true, but it was worth the uncertainty to chance not having to live with quite so much Solitude

It was a bit... troublesome, to get over-seas without causing an incident... I had to 'abort' several attempts to sneak aboard planes, a boat worked better eventually and it wasn't hard for me to get 'noticed' by the League once I was here... And now Here I am, I know it's not much detail, but I really don't have much memory to apply to it outside of theories, and I'd rather keep those quiet until I know more."
I am late! But I am here! 'stuff' happened for a couple of days but i'm finishing up my character now Didact!
What have I missed? o.o I saw something like an argument while scrolling down.
This sounds oddly familiar, and I am most definitely interested :D
