Sorry for the delay. Counsel has deliberated and found that "molten liquid" metal felt like a conjoinment of fire and earth and thus cannot be allowed.
We also are unsure if you would even need metal to perform projectile attacks, as the same can be done with stone.
I don't remember if we said yes to metal and earth being the same element.. Let me ask..

The mud/quicksand one is viable, though I am unsure that doing anything metal would be helpful.. Perhaps a cocoon of metals for protection? I dunno.

It looks like it opens up the ground and shoots out a hot wind..? o.o That isn't very earthy.
We'll see about changing some of the magics.

There are actually a few things that were never explained. I won't get into it, though. I don't want to give anything away. :)
I would love a remake. I really enjoyed the story. I would also like a sequel. Too bad many other people don't feel the same, or we might actually get one. :(
