Horizon Parade Route-Beryl Harken

A smile spread over the higher woman's face at the question. It had been a busy day.

"Little of this. little of that. Spent the morning jumping between about five different beach parties and cookouts. Don't think I ever actually got a formal invite to the last one. You'd be surprised at how easy it is join random parties during a big event like Colony Day." Beryl chuckled slightly and blew an errant strand of blue-black hair out of her face. "Anyway, I was invited to this party, and it has a perfect view of the parade route. It's pretty open so come on up and we can watch it together."

Horizon Parade Route-Beryl Harken

"Marcus, Martell! Up here!"

The cry came from above and slightly behind the pair. Any glances for the source of the noise would quickly locate one Test Pilot Beryl Harken leaning over the railing of a second story balcony overlooking the street. The double doors into the room beyond was open and the sounds of a party could be faintly heard over the sound of the crowd. Beryl herself was out of uniform, one might say extremely so. Clad in bikini top and shorts with a triangle of some sort of light floral cloth tied around her waist in a manner that was obviously more decorative than functional. All in all she looked more like one of the civilian tourists than a skilled Walker pilot.

"You two looking for a place to watch the parade?"

Beryl's mech.

Beacon Academy-Dust Apps-Beryl Harken

The class was really, genuinely, truly interesting. Blowing the student's minds at the start had been some inspired teaching. Both the impressive dust display and the breakdown of how it had been accomplished. Everyone in the room was now focused on the diminutive teacher at the front, many with raised hands and doing their best to show how into the material they were.

Beryl was not one of those people.

Oh she was as interested as any other student there. Dust was a significant part of her hunting style. It complimented her semblance and reduced the strain on her aura. An essential bit of synergy that her current state only reinforced. But no matter how much she wanted to share at the professor with laser like intensity her body just wasn't cooperating. Her physical form screamed for sleep while her mind desperately tried to stay conscious. Luke's little test kick had sent a spike of adrenalin through her and earned him the best mumbled grunt of thanks she could manage.

Even with that she found her eyelids drooping all too soon. Her tail twitched sluggishly in irritation as she mentally berated herself.

Come ooooooooooon Beryl! You can't afford to fall asleep now. Especially not in the new teachers first class...wait, what if she calls on me? Please don't call on me!

The mild terror and subtle attempts at becoming just another one of the faceless silhouettes proved to be quite helpful in keeping the clutches of sleep at bay. Now if only she could avoid having to speak up for the rest of the class. There was no way she could speak right now without slurring half her words.

Beryl, awaaaaaay.

Saef Harken-First Pyramid

It was getting crowded in here, what with all the undead, the different fighters and now multiple Guardians. Good thing Lucifus and Saef were sticking to the edges of the pyramid where nobody was paying attention. The only trouble so far had come from a couple of skeletons that had gotten lost. Easily dealt with by the Archangel.

All in all Saef was left with plenty of time to observe the battle without interruption. His scans of the place bringing a frown to his face. As he lept over a particularly tangled mess of vines and wood he turned to his companion and spoke.

"I cannot find Chen anywhere and Goddess Amaterasu fights alone. We split our forces because we believed it would result in a pair of mobile teams. Apparently the battlefield had other plans."

Of course this brought the question of where Deva's bodyguard had gotten to. The chances of him falling this early in the battle were slim in the extreme. If nothing else such a conflict would have been immediately noticeable across the entire area of conflict. If not dead than perhaps elsewhere on the field or called away entirely. He certainly wasn't inside with them, as helpful as that would be. His control over the local plant life would have been an immense boon.

Beryl was tired.

So very, very, tired.

Her semblance was crazy useful, a fact she knew well, but it came with a cost. Using it also used aura. And with how much she had just used it she had very little of that precious resource left. So it was with little of her normal perky attitude that she stumbled into Dust Apps.

Apparently she wasn't the only one late. Only a few other students had shown up yet. Why she didn't know, maybe the other classes had run overtime or something. She was just too tired to care at the moment.

She mumbled an apology to the teacher as she scanned the raised seats for a good spot. Super buff dude she didn't know...crazy airship highjacker...and Luke. Well at least there was someone here that she knew. Hopefully he wouldn't mind.

A bit of stumbling later and she collapsed into the seat beside Luke with a groan of relief.

"If I fall asleep please give me a kick under the desk."

Saef Harken-Ravine to First Pyramid

A solid plan, having two distinct teams of Champions would allow for greater mobility. Plus getting two almost strangers to fight in synch was easier than trying to do the same with four. "Agreed." He said, the noise emanating from his speakers just loudly enough to be heard over the rushing of the wind.

The duo soon left the confines of the blood soaked ravine. Bursting from the rocky mouth with a gust of wind and quantum particles. Before them lay a large pyramid, as thematically consistent and utterly bizarre as everything else in this strange demi-plane. The infinitely younger of the pair led the way inside with a grimace on his face. His sensors were detecting swampland within. Even more weird and even more annoying. Visibility was so-so once they entered. There wasn't much in the way of taller vegetation, trees clustered here and there but nothing that could be called a forest. On the other hand there was a lot of tall grasses and the like. An enemy could hide in any of those or the marsh itself. If one didn't mind getting dirty the area was full of places one could hide from prying eyes. Other types of sensors not so much.

The most interesting of course was the collection of champions that had already gathered. It looked like Hell was fighting the guardian of the first treasure. There were no Machina yet, at least none that he could see. With the amount of stealthed drones present in this battle there could easily be a few lurking in the area.

Still staring at the battle before them Saef spoke to the Archangel."What do you think. Attack now or let them wear each other down?"
