"It's a bit like having a third leg." Beryl said as she set the refolded shorts onto a nearby shelf. The shirt followed in a what was now a 'To-Buy' pile. "Great for balance and adds an extra point of contact I can use to keep me stable. Plus it packs a wallop." She added with a grin. "Though I admit it comes with some problems. Clothes tend to need adjustments unless it's specialized Faunus stuff. I kind of forgot about that today."

The grin turned slightly embarrassed again. In reality she had been so happy about getting to go out somewhere with her team that a few of the practicalities of the outing had slipped her mind. They had gone out before of course, but it usually ended up being with people from some other team as well. A chance to just spend an evening with her team was a rare and welcome opportunity.

"It was either drive away in the car or hunt down the few that escaped the mysterious building fire. I'd say they got the better end of the deal." Beryl said as she came back to them. "The shirt is good but, uh." A bit of embarrassment crept into her voice. "It's a bit hard to check how well pants fit when you can't fit your tail through them."

With a raised eyebrow at the phrasing, Beryl slung a leg over the bike and grabbed onto the other woman. She probably wouldn't need it for most of the ride but having something to hold onto for the initial acceleration would be helpful.

With a nod to the others Beryl reversed Ayane's course and leapt over the railing, landing gracefully next to Van Hossen.

"Lead the way."

A siren split the air before the conversation could continue, two loud shrieks that every pilot was required to know at least in passing. Beryl's head snapped around towards the nearest telephone pole and then up at the sky. All levity was gone from her face as her mind raced through the reasons for the alarm.

It wouldn't be a test, system or personnel, not today. Theoretically some joker on base could be pulling a prank but something this big? And on this day? It would ruin the prankster's career at the very least. No, this was real. And it meant that their budding party had ended. Turning back to the rest of the group she asked.

"Think I could hitch a ride with any of you? I took the bus into town and I don't think waiting for one back is an option at the moment."

Gratia as always with the slightly grating voice of reason. Beryl made a noise of agreement and grabbed a white T-shirt off another rack before heading off to the changing stalls.

Lucky for Silver the faunus before him had turned her attention to folding the shorts in her hands. She still heard his question though.

"I can sense and control water. Comes in really handy with the whole swimming thing."

Huh?

Beryl tilted her head in confusion. Why would she want to show off her thighs? Sure she was proud of how fit she was but it wasn't like she wanted to brag about it. Unable to comment on the second part of Silver's comment she decided to respond to the first half instead.

"Well yes it's hardly a swimsuit, but you'd be surprised how often I have to jump into a large body of water without the opportunity to change first. Plus drying off is really easy with my Semblance."

"Eheh, ummmm yeaaaaaah." She couldn't help the embarrassed twitch that ran through her tail. Trying to ignore it she looked around the store as they entered. The theme advertised outside was continued within. Various female garments covered the built in wall shelves and took up the vast majority of the racks that filled the small store. A couple pictures of well dressed male models sat above a corner in the far back, hinting at the existence of something besides women's clothing. "I'd probably live in the water if all my friends and family weren't on land. It's always been my way to get away from the world. A place where I can just relax and not have to worry that someone's going starve, or get hit by a car, or get kidnapped...Ooooo."

The young huntress skipped over to something that had caught her attention on a nearby shelf, grabbing a pair of slim jean shorts and holding them up. "These shouldn't get in the way of moving around, even in the water. Look pretty sturdy too. No hole for my tail but I can add that later." She held them against her and turned to Silver. "What do you think?"

Her tastes? Beryl's tastes were well...they were whatever she could get her hands on. More than half her wardrobe consisted of hand-me-downs and old clothing various parents had donated to the orphanage. She supposed that there were a few she had bought or that had been bought specifically for her. Not enough to build much on the way of personal style but she supposed she had a few things in particular that she liked.

"Stuff that's easy to move around in. Pants, shorts, T-shirts. As for swimsuits, the only stuff I've found that lets me go as fast as I want to are the single piece sportswear stuff. Everything else tends to pulled on by the water."
