All we're waiting for now is Simply to post again, I think.
And speak of the devil. XD

Who told you about that?

...err... I mean... 'Devil', whatever could you mean by that?
Right people, I can't post anything before I finish work today. Things in the IC will no doubt move along so someone, feel free to sling Marga over your shoulder and carry her onboard. When I get the chance to catch up fully and write a post later, all she's doing at the moment is finding her things and hoping the mission will be aborted.

Just as long as you don't mind coming back to find Farvis has grafted a third arm onto her. AT least it'll help her scratch in those hard to reach places now. :)
"Watch out, we're incoming!" Felix screamed into the radio as the shuttle drew closer to the dreadnought, its thruster fire swelling across the ancient plating, burning away a few of the scurrying droids as they finished cutting into the hull plating. They seemed unconcerned with their dwindling numbers as both Sevyn and Hundred targeted their colleagues, instead setting into the damaged innards of the ship's docking mechanism with a single-minded devotion. The spinning hull fragment spun off into the cold darkness of space, drifting passed the shuttle's viewports with an almost serene grace.

A groaning shriek of twisting metal echoed inside the shuttle's compartments as the umbilical made contact with the Lone Star's hull, scraping a couple of inches before the magnetic clamps managed to lock into place on the ancient plating. The placement wasn't ideal with the maintenance hatch a little off-centre, but it was a good solid lock which would be more than sufficient for the party to board.

"You guys had better be going," Felix called through the 'com as his fingers danced a grim fandango across the thruster controls. "That asteroid belt's coming up fast."
"Do you have any way of prematurely extending the umbilical?" @Kalas

Felix's hands danced over the control panel, trying to coordinate all the thrusters on the shuttle and the same time as they inched closer to the wreck. "There's a lever inside the airlock, on the upper left side of the outer hatch. Yank it down and the umbilical will deploy. You can fine tune it using the monitor just below the lever and the controls beside it. Won't be needing a perfect lock, just one good enough to hold pressure until you get the party aboard."

Out of the hull of the Lone Star the droids swarming towards Hundred suddenly stopped and tilted their heads down to face the armour plated hull. Beams of coherent energy began to slice into the seams between the plate Hundred was clinging to and the next while more droids moved around to cut around the other edges.

One of the droids scuttled forwards, its own cutting beam reaching out for the Dust lance still piercing into the ship's innards. Its intention was clear, to cut through the invading material and free its home from the attacker's control.
Little training, next to no real field experience.

If he needs experience he should go have a word with Marga. From what I hear she has experience to spare. >D
From the CSs I'd say Marga's goggles are more of a tactical scan than environmental. She'd be able to locate targets and track them but Simon would be more about scanning the environment itself and warning of more generalised dangers but not necessarily be able to give details of a target's equipment and combat capabilities, such as when he could tell Hundred was more robot than 'human', but needed to inquiry more about the details later on. Marga's probably already counted and priced up each bolt and rivet in Hundred's skeleton.

Together you'd both be able to give a very comprehensive view of your surroundings, but separately both systems have gaps in the information they could provide their users.

@TTwoThumbsUp Essentially, except his Press X inputs are in his brain to his hands.

I hope we don't get into too messy a situation, otherwise we'll have to wait for him to succeed in his QTE challenge. :P

On this world however, the magic is subject to incursions from other worlds which constantly disrupt it. Instead of rivers, you get puddles, or tiny streams, maybe even weak whirlpools.

On the other hand you might also get a sudden surge, changing a simple Ember spell intended to light a campfire into an unstoppable torrent of flames which burns down all our tents.

Casting large-scale spells would require that you create an artificial pool of energy to tap into by tying multiple sources together. These sources could be location based, or be tied to objects/herbs/ingredients/etc.

If we went with the above description it would limit his powers to whatever sources he could find, keeping him from going OP despite the technical fact that he's insanely powerful. Would it work with your character idea, though?

Depending on how long he's been on Mym he may also have learnt to harness a store of energy in things like focusing crystals. These would allow him to have instantaneous access to high-level spells when needed, but would basically be one-shot, irreplaceable items which couldn't be recovered within the scope of the adventure.

The most likely use for these would be as a catalyst for summoning powerful thralls or animating corpses for a short period, but once the power had burned off the minions would fall apart once more.
"The human is right, those two are jeopardizing the mission. And I don't intend to be shot to shit by a bunch of space rocks."

"Right now I can only see two ways this plays out with me still alive and flying," Felix called back over his shoulder towards the open doorway, his eyes never leaving his screens as he slowly moved the shuttle closer to the Lone Star. "Either you let me dock this crate safely and you all get off so I can fly clear before those rocks start hitting us, or I abort and get the hell out of here."

Setting off a hard blast of the thrusters to keep the shuttle in line with the spinning dreadnaught Felix swore softly to himself as the ship jerked under his controls, losing the positioning of the maintenance lock yet again. "Now unless you can find a way to help your colleagues out there then may I suggest you shut the hell up and let me do my job?"
Marga's goggles do much the same sort of thing. Though only her and Mez know that.

And here I was thinking she just used them to see through people's clothes.
I posted. Inadequate but I had to at least get something in there before more posts flood in. Can't really make long posts well on my phone anyway.

If I were Simon I'd be worried. He's the only member of the party carrying an environmental scanner, and if the others realise that they may end up using him as a guinea pig on every new compartment they enter to check if it's safe for oxygen, pressure levels, temperature, harmful gases and radiological or biological hazards.
