Back"story": Tom is a talented medic who has been slowly touring the world, going wherever work takes him. During his career he's worked as a nurse in the US, helped set-up aid centres in the Middle East and assisted in disaster relief operations across Asia. Never staying in any one place too long Tom has been known to quit his job at a moment's notice whenever wanderlust strikes him.

Background check info:
Tom currently holds a valid UK passport as well as a driving license and NI number. He has three bank accounts in the UK, one of which appears to act as holdings for his transitory work, another a long-term savings account and the third shows standard living expenses transactions dating back the last seven years matching his recorded international employment locations. Tom holds a criminal record in the US for aggravated assault after getting involved in a bar fight in Marrero, Louisiana May 2009 when a local man accused Tom of getting his teenaged daughter pregnant. Although Tom failed to appear at his arraignment, he subsequently made a sizable cash payment to the plaintiff causing all charges to be dropped.
Thorough background check info:
The girl in question later gave birth to a baby girl and received payments each month from an untraceable offshore bank account up until 2011. The payments ended shortly after her father died in a car accident, losing control of his vehicle while driving home from the local bar. As his death was judged to have been caused by his own actions the man's life insurance company refused pay-out, leaving his family in financial difficulties. In order to support her child the girl moved to Westbank, New Orleans and currently supplements her income working as an 'escort', advertising her services online using the name 'Ms Marrero'. The girl has a history of substance abuse which dates back to before her pregnancy, but no exact date is available for when this condition first started. There's no record of Tom having made any contact with the girl since 2009 and he seems uninterested in the current welfare of his alleged daughter.

Past: Growing up Patch was always interested in biology, in fact while still at school he was often reprimanded by his teacher for spying on the girls in the changing rooms and showers. His interests deepened when his father took sick however and with little hope for recovery Patch began to study medicine in ernest in order to find a way to help him.

An intelligent and well motivated child Patch managed to graduate two years early from medical school, but he was already too late. Three months before he received his certification his father passed away. Driven to despair Patch began a lifelong addiction to alcohol, drinking himself into oblivion most weekends and using his knowledge of medicine to cover up his condition while at work. It was then that he was approached by a shadowy individual with a very special offer.

Military Intelligence was in need of someone with a medical background to help them track shipments of bio-weapons being transported around the world, and they knew that with his drinking problem Patch would make a perfect stooge if anyone caught him where he shouldn't be, as well as giving them a means of controlling their operative in the field. Providing him with everything he could need the SIS shipped Patch abroad with the broad assignment of finding biological weapons plants and flagging them for the Service to take out. For several years Patch wandered the globe, with a handler close behind monitoring his activities, and his frequent reports allowed the SIS to successfully take out many targets of opportunity before anyone else even knew that they had existed.

What the SIS weren't aware of was that Patch's handler had become compromised by him, and that while travelling Patch was making use of the contacts he was making to help set up his own little empire, providing 'medicinal assistance' to gangs and criminal organisations worldwide. The truth finally came out when the body of the handler turned up in the Hong Kong harbour, having died from an overdose of a previously unidentified amphetimine which had been cooked up in one of Patch's labs. Issuing an immediate kill order for the rogue agent the SIS moved to eliminate him, but they were too late. Patch had already made use of his contacts in the Triad to have himself swiftly whisked away to a place of safety.

Now on the run from the very agency which help him set up his network, and trying to keep a step ahead of the criminals whose supplies had been compromised by his absence, Patch finds himself in need of new allies, and a way to get the SIS off his back for good.

Patch's skill set revolves around being the first man on the scene, whenever and wherever that may be. With the ability to move quickly through almost any terrain he always makes sure to be there whenever someone needs a little medicinal assistance.

Ladies Man: Patch has a history of womanising although he tends to be discreet in his relations, playing off of his role as a nurse and aid worker rather than mentioning his less ethical activities. He has a habit of offering 'special medicinal supplies' to girls he's interested in, making sure they enjoy his company for as long as he's around.

Alcoholic: Having dealt with his excessive drinking for many years Patch would tell you that he doesn't have a problem, as long as there's a steady supply of his favourite bourbon readily at hand. While he can control his condition with properly administered medication, which he can produce himself from the most basic and commonly available ingredients, any long periods without access to alcohol can leave Patch's talents impaired, making 'medicinal alcohol' a vital addition to any equipment stash.

Privately Funded: Even while he was still working for the SIS Patch used his access and skills to develop several forms of recreational medications which he used while on operations to gain access to secured facilities. Over time he managed to build a network of dedicated 'customers' who make sure to keep funds flowing into Patch's accounts, in exchange for a steady stream of 'product.' Now on the run, these lines of supply are under threat and soon Patch's loyal customers may start to question their relationship with their supplier.

I was thinking more a level 12-15 agent, specialised with hacking and gadgets (Brilliance, Gadgeteer, Field Stripping, Interference, Overclock, Breaking and Entering, Shaped Charge, Improved Data Theft, and Remote Hack) as well as stealth (Concealment, Awareness, Silent Running, Evasion, Binary Invisibility, and Shadow Operative.) Limited knowledge of martial arts (CQC Proficiency, Knockdown Strike, Strike Combo, Melee Defense) and only basic training with handguns (Pistol Proficiency.) All these skills would be at Basic level only, not the upgraded versions.

Also, his loadout is what he'd prefer to be equipped with, but not necessarily what he'd have access to in the field. If the opportunity came for him to acquire gear, he'd be spending his money on that equipment.
