I'm interested. However, I haven't played inquisition (PC can't run it nor do I have the next gen consoles) or Dragon Age 2 (I tried but didn't like its gameplay). However, I LOVE DA:O and its world. I am still new to forum rps, though I have rped before via pathfinder and post by post rping for a few years now. So, it'll be a learning experience for this style of rping.

Since we're going where no elf has gone before there's no real requirement to know the backstories of the games, other than the general idea that great calamities have recently been averted. In extreme cases you can just ask me directly for anything you're not sure of, or just check out the wiki.

These are just some examples, would there ever be anything like this or would it mainly depended and consist on were the RP goes??

The plan is for the party to basically wander around looking for trouble. I have some plots already planned out, but if the party decides they'd rather head in a different direction I'll be happy to adapt the story for the events, rather than forcing people to stick to a pre-planned script. Mainly I'm looking to get us away from what's already canon, so we can have a little freedom to explore possible stories without tripping over what's already happened.

If there's any ideas you'd particularly like to explore please feel free to PM me with details and we can plan subplots behind everyone else's back. XD
@TheUnknowable Edit: Unless you meant Jean Grey, in which case I'm wondering why we brought someone so powerful but unstable.

There was no way we could've gotten the expedition funded this quickly without having the live broadcast of Jean Grey, Angela and Gamora performing that three-way in the shower together. How was I to know they'd end up killing the entire assault team who were supposed to be your backup for the mission.

At least they died happy...
Name/Pseudonym: Alias - Thomas Elias Sinclair; Codename - 'Patch'; Real Name - [REDACTED]

Gender: Male

Age: Late 20s; DOB - [REDACTED]

Appearance: At 5'7" with a medium height, medium build and an entirely undistinguished appearance Patch is almost the perfect undercover agent, one who blends into the crowd without being noticed or standing out in any way.

Agency: Formerly British Secret Intelligence Service (Military Intelligence, Section 6), currently disavowed due to 'ungentlemanly conduct'

Back"story": Tom is a talented sound technician who has been slowly touring the world, going wherever work takes him. During his career he's gigged as a DJ in the US, helped set-up telephone lines in the Middle East and assisted in disaster relief operations across Africa. Never staying in any one place too long Tom has been known to quit his job at a moment's notice whenever wanderlust strikes him.

Background check info:
Tom currently holds a valid UK passport as well as a driving license and NI number. He has three bank accounts in the UK, one of which appears to act as holdings for his self-employed work, another a long-term savings account and the third shows standard living expenses transactions dating back the last seven years matching his recorded international employment locations. Tom holds a criminal record in the US for aggravated assault after getting involved in a bar fight in Marrero, Louisiana May 2009 when a local man accused Tom of getting his teenaged daughter pregnant. Although Tom failed to appear at his arraignment, he subsequently made a sizable cash payment to the plaintiff causing all charges to be dropped.

Thorough background check info:
The girl in question later gave birth to a baby girl and received annual payments each year from an untraceable offshore bank account up until 2011. The payments ended shortly after her father died in a car accident, losing control of his vehicle while driving home from the local bar. As his death was judged to have been caused by his own actions the man's life insurance company refused pay-out, leaving his family in financial difficulties. In order to support her child the girl moved to Westbank, New Orleans and currently supplements her income working as an 'escort', advertising her services online using the name 'Ms Marrero'. There's no record of Tom having made any contact with the girl since 2009 and he seems uninterested in the current welfare of his alleged daughter.

Past: Growing up Patch was always a fan of James Bond films, but while most of his friends marvelled at the gunplay and the over-the-top escapes performed by the hero Patch was drawn to the gadgets. Soon he was building devices of his own, trying to recreate the gizmos he'd seen in the films, with very limited success. Early prototypes of his 'spy-ware' quickly got him noticed by staff at his school, most of whom took a not so favourable view of the tunnelling cameras he used to make himself popular with the other teenaged boys, but one teacher in particular took special notice of the young boy's talents.

A retired Naval officer, Mr Jameson referred his student to an old friend, who knew exactly how best to make use of burgeoning talent. After receiving a visit from a specialist and having signed the Official Secrets Act multiple times Patch found himself transferred to London and given his own lab to help develop new technological marvels to help Bond's real world compatriots.

Spending several years behind the soldering iron, Tom grew bored of tinkering and put in for a transfer to a front-line unit where he could experience a little more of the action he'd seen on the silver screen in his childhood. At first his superiors refused Tom's requests, fearing to lose their technical magician to enemy action in he were sent into the field, but as more and jmore of his gadgets began to 'malfunction' during operations, placing agents' lives in danger, his request was finally accepted.

Active assignments awaited Patch, but these soon began to bore him as much as lab work. His skill set set him more as a supporting agent in the field, backing up his colleagues with technical assistance and surveillance cover despite his ability to infiltrate and sabotage enemy positions and soon Patch began to feel the need to stretch his influence beyond his superiors' gaze. Making connections with underground agents around the world Patch began to sell his services to all-comers, provided they granted him the challenge and adventure he yearned for. When word of his activities leaked back to his superiors they took no more delight in his misdemeanors than his schoolteachers had done.

Luckily Patch's skill with communications and surveillance allowed him to easy be aware when the kill order came, and leaving several gifts behind he disappeared into the underworld which had welcomed him so eagerly. Now he operates as a mercenary-for-hire, taking jobs which test his skills and abilities with no consideration for their ethical or moral merits.

@TheUnknowable I'm just out of it a bit because I missed so many posts.

As a quick recap.
  • The party made it through the airlock as Hundred 'welded' it shut behind them.
  • The shuttle was struck by asteroid debris and blew up.
  • Sevyn and Hundred tried to access the ship's systems to open the hangar door but ended up only switching on the lights.
  • Marga managed to unseal the control room door, but also triggered defence turrets and got shot.
  • Simon dragged Marga to safety and took out one turret.
  • Sevyn retreated into the control room.
  • Hundred took out the second turret, and shut down power to the deck.
  • Hundred, Marga and Simon all entered the control room.
  • Apparently Mez is standing in the middle of the corridor fondling his pistol and blade, which I really hope isn't a euphemism.

And unfortunately the phoenix was aboard the shuttle, and is currently scattered ash outside the ship.
@DJAtomika "Optics, full scan. Repeat previous."

Simon's HUD quickly began to filter through various colours as the scanners took in every detail they could. The party's entrance had disturbed the air in the previously sealed room and dust particles danced in the lights from the emergency overhead fixtures. Unlike the parts of the ship they'd seen so far the control room was virtually untouched, apart from the gun-shot control console.

Mugs of congealed beverages rested on the work surface and several pairs of overalls worker's hung at the back of the room, almost as if their owners had only just stepped out and would be back any minute, even though the ship had been deserted for years. Across from the armoured viewport the scanner noted a row of security lockers, their access pads disabled due to lack of power. Everything else seemed dead and dormant, the loss of power having cut off all functions in the consoles, whose monitors now lay dark and empty.

The scanner chimed a warning as it picked up organic residue on the console. A window opened on Simon's display identifying human blood, the data quickly trying to match it against any known individuals but finally giving up and simply reporting that the blood type was AR+, which meant the person injured had been of a mixed species background, not that it mattered anymore. Even if they'd survived whatever injury had left their blood behind they'd most likely have died of exposure well before the party's arrival.

Continuing its survey the scanner pinged off various data ports and power sockets arrayed along the console, signs of heavy use and regular maintenance having been performed right up until the chamber had been sealed. WHatever had happened here it had been sudden and dramatic, driving the crew from their posts before anything could be done to secure the terminals.
@Dragonite777 P.S. (cheap plug) I'm starting up an Alpha Protocol based RP. Still in the interest check phase though.

No news on Farvis or Mez recently, need to know whether they survived the turret ambush and whether Marga needs to break out some diamonds for a resurrection.
@Skepic "Well cyborg, it seems if our cowboy here doesn't hurry up, I might actually have something to do today instead of sitting around listening to nothing but Pferdescheiße. I guess this might be your lucky day to see a K99 Todesmaschine in action, ja?
"Hey Cowboy! Might want to wrap up your saint of the wasteland act, we might end up doing some preliminary looting if you don't. Not that I don't mind, its just usually raiders don't carry anything of use to me."

Harry couldn't help but grin at the spunky young kraut as she moved up beside him. Her attitude mirrored his own impatience and he was almost tempted to invite her to jump on the back of his radcycle so the two of them could head off to find out what was coming towards them first-hand, but it was rash decisions like that that had led to his eye having to be replaced. Not that the new one wasn't better, it just itched like hell when dust got into the workings, and dust always got into the workings.
