“Yeah Bunky? You peaked in high school didn’t you? Big man on campus until you entered the real world and found out you’re nothing more than a twisted tin horn wanna be god.” General Freedom sneered.

It was clear the big oaf had little if any real combat training, swinging his fist like most bullies, with little finesses and all muscle. General Freedom had crouched low waiting for such a move. After all he needed to see the actual combat skill of his opponent and now he knew it. Lock stock and barrel oafish brawler.

Muscles tensed as the lummox charged forward, his only hand cocked back ready to throw his weight into it, ready to plaster the hero of millions across the back wall. Ah well, it’s nice to have a dream isn’t it. The Splatterer moved forward, his punch aimed for the head of General Freedom, the hero of millions allowed his training to take over.

Stepping out with his right foot, drawing his body away from the oncoming right hand, the blue clad hero fired a deadly left jab under the oncoming right into the solar plexus of the gap-toothed freak, followed by a hammer blow to the left rib cage with his right fist. The combination was going to take advantage of the fact that the freak didn’t have a left arm to offer a guard. The left jab was nothing more than a ranging shot, designed to give General Freedom an idea of where his right hammer blow was going to hit.

The right hammer would hit under the where the left arm once had been, the twist and torque would be enough to break a normal villains rib cage, but General Freedom had a feeling this guy was a lot tougher. No this blow was to test his body since it would come full force, unmolested and uncontested, hitting with the force of a ten-ton wrecking ball.
I suggest you go introduce yourself and examine the characters already posted to see where the power scales fall. Feel free to ask questions either here or in one of the numerous chats. For the most part people are willing to help out new comers.
Of course sabotage is NOT mandatory and like everything can be negotiated into the fight. As for me don't bother I never accept sabotage as part of my fights.
Hello. I am new to this forum and am very interested solely to combat roleplay. My only concern is the theme, power scaling and how to have other people to accept your challenge and et cetera. I would much appreciate for those who answer my questions. Thank you.

You should go here for more information The Official RPGuild Ranking Headquarters But the gist of it is below.

This is where many of the challenges for Guild's new ranking system shall take place, in so much as actually challenging other participants, keeping track of ranks, and viewing small "cards" with information about the fight.

How it works!

The process to getting a ranked fight is relatively simple.

First, you must be sure to register here, which is as simple stating your interest. You'll be given a beginning amount of points, which will automatically slot you somewhere on the ranking list. That point total is 1000.

From there, you are free to compete in accept, or announce, any open challenge. To do so, you simply post in the Character Sheet portion of the thread, or ask for a ranked fight in the Interest Check(you can also accept an open challenge there).

Another way to gain points is by participating in any of the OFFICIAL tournaments, which will be listed in the IC thread under their own heading. Some years may have three, and others may have four. Only HQ sanctioned tournaments will count towards points. They will be held either Jan. May. Sept. Or! Jan. April. July. Oct. Each aside from the last tournament of the year will a host, who'll decide how many points can be won as a bonus, and the various parts of the tournament.

How does a ranked fight work?!

Well, that's ultimately down to each fight. The person asking for a fight has free range to pick any type of fight and any arena they want, but you - as the challenged - have a right to accept or deny. Perhaps you can even negotiate it. Each fight WILL have a judge, on hand, to watch over the fight. You have to accept the judge. Their ruling, in many cases, will be final.

The other part of a ranked fight includes a wager, which can be anything from a minimum of 25 points, to an item your character has. Wagers are not mandatory.

The fight will take place in its own thread, but a small "card" will be posted in the IC portion of this thread. This will be done by the judge. It will include the names of all parties involved, comments by both participants and the judge, a link to the fight, the name of the arena, and if any wager was made. After the fight concludes, it will include the win type(Death, Surrender, etc.).

Arenas can be picked from the Arena BattleGround thread, or made up on the spot.

Well, how do I advance in the rankings?

Quite simply, you win matches! Beating a higher ranked opponent won't give you their spot, but it'll certainly give you points! And if you managed to secure a point wager, then they'll even LOSE points afterward!

In other words, the more points you get the higher in the ranking you go!
There was a soft pop as the skeletal being stepped through the shadowy gate into the main lobby of the massive floating building, his body wreathed in amethyst flames. While it had the look of a Liaison edifice, it lacked the overly gaudiness. It was sedated and held a distinguished aura. People scurried about, going about their duties as the skeletal being began a slow survey of the lobby. A minute later the scene was locked in the dark records of the Galdhr, already being studied and experienced by Dreamers.

There seemed to be a disturbance in one section of the building. Several people hurrying past him spoke of an amazing feat; someone was eating copious amounts of food. This piqued the interest of the Dreamer, while food was no longer a part of their existence, the act of eating was required for many life forms. The fact that someone was eating gluttonously was certainly something to examine.

Making his way in the direction the workers had come, Skallagrim paused examining a map of various arenas linked to the building. Clearly Liaison had allowed the builders access to his considerable technology to link so many fields of death to this building. A closer inspection of the technology required to do so would be on the list of things that Skallagrim would do while here.

Had it been something the Dreamers erected the gates would be fueled by the galdhr energies of the dark universe, but the technology used would work on most likely more conventional physics. Turning away from the arena wall the skeletal being bumped a woman of considerable size. Looking up at her Skallagrim merely stared, taking in the moment.

“Well? You gunna ‘pologize or am I gunna pound you?”

Skallagrim stared a moment before he spoke in a static filled hiss. “Gumbardian? Yes, you are a Gumbardian warrior woman. Your planet is the 9th moon circling the 6th planet in the system Scila IV. Judging by your traditional attire you have been invited to this locale as a potential combatant.”

The woman reared back, her watery eyes narrowed as she peered at the Xindhi.

“Yea? You wanna be my first victory boney?” Her meaty hand wrapping around the large laser rifle that Gumbardians enjoyed using. Her companion, a short haired tawny colored cat-boy gaped at the Xindhi before tugging at the large woman’s arm. His voice a combination of snarls and mewlings as the woman paused in her movements. Her features paled as she jerked her hand from the laser rifle, her eyes growing wide as she backed away.

“Erk . . . I am. . . I didn’t. . . “

The cat-boy stepped between them, “We are sorry; we are new to this place and didn’t realize your kind would be present.”

Skallagrim nodded to them then pushed his way past them towards the dining hall.
General Freedom watched with interest as the block indeed diverted the mad monster known as the Splatterer vanish into the building again. The ZPE flared as it raced around his form in ever increasing loops. Fists balling up, the hero of millions took a quick glimpse around the area.

It probably was not the best idea considering the situation.

The block of concrete flew back, catching the hero square in the chest with enough force to carry him back a few hundred feet through the Apple store and out the back where he crashed into the metal trash bin with enough force to crumple it.

With a growl the hero stood up, the energy now moving across his body with such speed it appeared a blur, creating a slight, strobing and ghosting effect. Big ugly was loping along in his tripod way right towards the hero.

Whirling around, General Freedom grabbed the battered and broken trash bin, lifting it he spun around, hurling it towards the brute like it were a discus. Albeit it was a large and misshapen green discus that weighed in around 8oo lbs., with nothing more to it than a way to slow the brute for a second.

General Freedom had little doubt that the freakish creature would batter or otherwise avoid the large green object hurling towards him at nearly 60 miles per hour. As soon as the improvised object left his hands, the blue clad hero crouched low waiting for the one-armed ugly to get closer.

Of course he was conscious of the fact that the longer he focused on the Splatterer he would be exposing himself to the magical attacks of Kali, something that could prove problematic if she decided to take advantage of the situation.

“Come on bunky!” he growled.
I have actually been working on adding more high level abilities and equipment to Scion and Dennis' potential load out sheet, just so he can fight against stronger opponents. I had originally designed him with the idea that he wouldn't need more then a few sets of abilities/equipment and he would be fine. However, viewing my fight and the fights of others has shown me that my bar, for whats considered strong, may have been a bit to low.

You should fight where you are comfortable. No need to elevate a character if you aren't comfortable doing so.
Yep. Yeah I am fine with either one. I need to see the sheets and then figure which character would offer the best fight to you. Then we can hash out the rest of the details.
LOL the first one sounds like a Big Daddy from Bio-Shock. Either one seems fine, I think I would have to look over their CS to see where and what I can use to match up to them.
Send me a PM about the character and we can go over it. Always glad to help.
