Hmm, I guess I'll roll up a dude in the interest of gender balance (although I find the idea of an older professional like Johan surrounded by a cadre of snappy young ladies pretty funny).
I thought about playing a character with a bit of 'muscle,' if expeditions should get hairy. It'd be good to have the manpower around. Another idea is a downtrodden 20-something in need of work - a lot of odd jobs under his belt, but never the right opportunity to shine.

I'm still taking potshots at ideas, so don't wait up for me. I'll find something I gravitate to soon enough!

NPC nations could be a thing, although it would give @Goldeagle1221 and I a bit more work to do. They could be minor powers and duchies that nobody pays much attention to.

I don't have a claim for myself, and I'd be alright microing a few tiny lands that don't require the same investment as a full PC nation.

This sounds pretty neat! It's been too long since I last took part in a fantastical adventure. Not too sure about a character yet. A preliminary idea is a noblewoman from an impoverished household escaping the courtly life.
