John found exactly what they needed in the cafe. Water, muffins, cinnamon buns, even a few kitchen knifes for weapons. He searched the staff room for a back pack or pouch of some sort and finally found one. He loaded his findings in there and brought it back to the center and dumped it with Marco's things.
Yeah I'd like to know who John is paired up with as well
I'll get a CS up by the end of the day
John and the scavengers finally came farther than the area Liz had searched. It was where John had been before, the center of town. He looked around and saw an Ice cream shop, a clothing store, a butcher, a baker, a cafe, and a ratty motel. None of this area seemed to have been searched. Well there were no broken windows at least. "Everyone pick somewhere to search. Bring anything you think will be valuable and we'll meet up back here, John said as he walked into the cafe. He had really picked the cafe because it would make him look good to bring back anything of value. And reputation was everything. Not that he didn't actually want to survive. But he'd like to survive and have respect.
"I'm sure it's on one of the maps. We'll find it. Jen, make sure to close these gates when we leave," John said. He hoped those who stayed behind would be alright. Especially Jen. Not because he had a crush on her but because she was the one person he knew in this hell hole. Well he did have a bit of a crush on her. But most guys in school did. What wasn't there to like. John snapped back to reality then and set down the backpack of clothes Jen had given him. He wouldn't need those where he was headed.
Lol now I need to find a theme song cause I will not be one of the only people without one
John nodded. He could sense Sky didn't really wanna talk much. He was ok with that. So instead of pushing the subject of getting to know her, he kept pace with her, silently walking.
John noticed the other survivors eagerness to stay with Jen but he didn't think too much of it. "Well let's hurry. I don't think our friend in the control room is gonna be able to hold out for long," John said, swinging his baseball bat. He shifted his weight nervously from foot to foot, adrenaline starting to pump at the thought of going back into the horde.
John looked over his shoulder and saw there were a few people following him. He slowed down a bit and fell into step with one of the other scavengers, a girl with sunglasses on. "You know this whole thing might be a bit nicer if we get to know each other. I'm John," he said, extending his hand to hers. John had always been good with people. That had changed when this happened. Now he was more of a, point-a-gun-in-your-face kind of guy.
John slung the backpack Jen gave him over his shoulder and smiled, despite the grim circumstances. At least he wasn't dead. "Hey guys...I wonder...do you think we should probably help that dude out? He's been trying to call us over the PA all this time." John heard one of the other survivors say. "Yeah, he was using morse code for a little while but it sounds like his situation has gotten a bit worse. It sounded like he said he was in the control room? Anyone know the way?"
