I plan on working magic into the world. I was hoping on having our band not relying on magic but if it's important to you to play a magic user then I see no harm. Thanks for the interest!

Sure thing! :D I'm glad that you like the end result. Not to brag, but I must admit my surprise at how well it turned out.

I think it's fair to say you've earned your bragging rights. I'll definitely be back for more of your work!
Special thanks to the incredible @Altered Tundra for the awesome banner!
@Altered Tundra Oh my, I wasn't expecting that. It's awesome! Thank-you. :)
Balian

@Whimsley

The ranger, deep in thought and now beginning to feel the effects of the alcohol coursing through his veins stared deeply into the grain of the wood that topped the bar. He thanked the barmaid and slid a few coins in her direction as she placed his tankard, filled to the brim, in front of him. His thoughts were lost to him, jumbled in his head like jig-saw pieces sprawled on a floor without the slightest inkling of how to start arranging them.

"You noticed it too."

Balian was drawn from his almost trance like state, surely alcohol induced, by the words. They were hushed but to his trained and tested ears audible and it was evident that they were aimed towards him. Head heavy, he fought against it as he brought his gaze to what he by now could only assume was a doctor of some sort. The ranger's expression remained blank for a moment before his lips parted and he began to speak, "Noticed what exactly...?". His attention was drawn to the raven's head movement and Balian's eyes narrowed as he wondered if the bird was nodding. As if it understood it's master? After a moment of reflection on recent events, he decided this was perhaps not the strangest of assumptions he could make.

There was something that felt off about the duo to Balian, but not necessarily threatening and so for the time being he decided to humor him. "Can I get you a drink?" He asked, waiting for the doctor to look away momentarily before glancing in his sister's direction.
*Forenote: The concept comes from a fantasy novel I am currently writing. However, the events in the RP will be separate to those from the story I am writing myself.

*If interested, see watered down CS and propose a character. Although there are only 3 slots available now there will always be more in the future!

Something Wicked This Way Comes

A presence dark invades the fair,
And gives the horses ample scare,
For chaos reigns and panic numbs,
When something wicked this way comes.

So toll the bell and sound the drums,
For something wicked this way comes.

Beastmen, once having lived in Nomadic tribes, brutish and unnatural creatures that resided in the deep forests, raiding and pillaging villages and towns, have been banded together by a Lord of the beasts. Shador, champion of the Beastmen, unified the raider tribes under one banner. Hagur-Ur, the northernmost part of the known lands, an already barren land became the makings of an empire, an empire ruled by beasts. However, the intent of this army was to reach far further than Hagur-Ur. The gnarled grasp of the North slowly reaches outside of its domain, clawing at the civilizations of Man and all non-beast.

The Beastmen warbands attack with no warning, and villagers, merchants and travelers live in constant fear of ambush. They try to prepare themselves for such an event, and often desperately appeal to the nobles to scour North with their armies - however, at such a time of political upheaval with a pestilence spreading from the East and the dead inexplicably rising from their graves, the nobles have far more pressing concerns than the pleas of low-born villagers. Forced to fend for themselves, terrified villagers hack down great swathes of forests around their settlements, and the better off hire the services of mercenaries to protect them, barricading themselves indoors when they hear rumors of a marauding band within the area.

The more isolated villages and farmsteads are most at risk from attack. Far from any and all aid, travelers frequently will discover buildings or entire villages raised to the ground, cattle and villager butchered alike, lying where they were cut down. Full of malevolence the Beastmen take particular pride in tearing down the carefully constructed and ordered structures of men. For the united tribes of Beastmen, the battles fought in the South as well as the chaos and senseless murder are part of a religious war, an effort to bring down the civilisation of man which offends the Beasts’ gods. They believe that after the taint of man has been wiped from existence, the Beastmen shall inherit.

This is an interest check where I'm looking for three other players (to begin with at least), to come on a journey with me. This will be a quest orientated role-play with the possibility of becoming an open and persistent world role-play (down the line of course). Obviously it's just skin and bones at the moment and I haven't given much explanation on the World and have only really provided a general premise but it'll grow if the interest is there.

@Shagranoz Sorry it took so long to get that up, only at the laptop last half hour and it's 5am. Talk about a long day!

@Ambrosia@The One If you don't see a PM from me in the next hour or two then expect it tomorrow/today.

"Rebecca Vazant, wandering witch. It's always a pleasure to see new faces around."

Balian shot Ruehar a look which she instantly understood the meaning of, "Oh, a witch!" She chirped a thin but honest smile crossed his lips before she looked down at her tankard, almost bursting with desperation to chat to another magic user. Ruehar had began to feel more comfortable about the inn, she had taken note of numerous beings with magical abilities here. Although, not all of them seemed to fit in the Laws of Magick that she was familiar with, but this only made it all the more intriguing. The ranger, her brother on the other hand seemed to have a different opinion. After what they had been through, torn away from another home this time chased by a mob of angry witch hunters into a nightmarish forest, it was easy to understand Balian's distrusting position towards the forst, this inn and all inhabitants within it.

"There's a stench in the air." He began, standing almost knocking the table and the tankards over in the process. "Rot." The ranger hissed through gritted teeth giving the travelling witch the once over. Lifting his tankard from the table and drowning the drink in one he placed it back down on the table and shuffled to the bar.

Ruehar watched her brother leave, biting her tongue in disgust not entirely understanding what he meant but also shocked at his tone towards Rebecca. She swiftly redirected her attention to her new acquaintance and smiled again, weaker this time. "Ruehar." She replied, moving her cloak to reveal various trinkets associated with Magick, "Me too." She added, keeping an eye out for Balian, deciding not to heed his warning.
I'll get my character up in next couple hours!
