Why do people say "Tuna Fish sandwich"? That's like saying "Chicken Bird sandwich."

Bio

I never know what to put in these things. I'm just a guy who likes making stories. If I'm not roleplaying, I'm writing my own stuff or just creating random characters. I'm particularly fond of superheroes but I also really like character driven stuff and tend to dive into the details of a character. No character can be too detailed as far as I'm concerned.

Hey guys i won't be able to post for most of the day i'll post around 5 6 pm Canadian

Don't worry about it man. No rush.

@Vec Well we could really use some more people from Harlan. How about playing an old hillbilly named Buck?

When the car came to a slow stop, Nate looked the man in the road up and down, taking particular note of the gun belt and cursing Michaels for taking his. Illuminated by the glow of the headlights, Elijah Craigh looked even more menacing than he normally did. Damn it! This wasn't how he wanted it to go. He wanted time to prepare. At least enough time to get a gun. 'Damn it,Freddy!' he thought to himself. Nate watched Craigh for a long moment, only half paying attention to what Vin was saying to him. Eventually, he glanced at the new guy for a second then turned to Vin and said "When I get out of the car, lock the doors. And if this goes sideways...run." The normally happy-go-lucky Nate seemed to be gone and he was now deadly serious.

Stepping out of the car, Nate slammed the door shut behind him and held an arm across his ribs as he moved around to the front of the car, stepping into the glow of the headlights. "Elijah motherfucking Craigh." he said with the slightest hint of a smile as he came to a stop at what he felt was a safe distance away from Craigh. "Haven't drunk yourself into an early grave yet I see."

Nate felt on edge but tried not to let it show. This could go either way and probably depended on how Eli felt that day. Nate had always been somewhat paranoid and these past few weeks with all the craziness and the people trying to kill him or arrest him or both had only made him worse. But standing here, face to face with Eli Craigh, he was more on edge than normal. Eli had the potential to be dangerous. Nate didn't know why the message had told him to find Eli. Maybe it was a set up. Maybe he was here to kill them. Or maybe not. Maybe it was all in his head and Eli was here to help. Either way, Nate was ready for a fight if he needed to be.
I'm thinking it's probably not necessary anymore to add mentions at the bottom of our posts since everyone in the RP is together. The only time it would make sense now is if dialogue is directed at specific characters.

What do you all think?

I'm fine with that. I imagine we'll split up again at some point, as seems to be the nature of this rp, and then we can use it for whoever is around at the time. We're good for now though.

Also, I should have a post up soon.
@Xandrya At some point, do you think JJ will learn to control her powers better so she doesn't completely incapacitate herself? I know for story purposes she's still new to the whole thing but I'm just curious about the evolution of things like this.
Okay, my brain is mush and I think I need a long sleep before I post again.

The whole thing was a blur. From the moment the breakout began, it was a cacophony of movement and sounds. Cody had moved on mostly instinct alone and by the time he reached the ship, his heart was pounding. It was exhilarating. Almost fun. Or it would have been, were he not afraid he would die any moment. There were other people running to the ship too. Some he recognized and some he didn't. They all slipped into their pods and Cody followed suit. Only then did he start to calm down and think about what had actually happened. What was still happening. He almost started to panic but remembered the breathing exercises his father had taught him earlier in life. That helped calm him until the sleep came.

When he awoke, he was confused and disoriented, much like everyone else. He slammed a hand into the glass on the pod but immediately realized what a bad idea that was. So instead he focussed on figuring out how to get out of this thing. He didn't have a chance though as all hell broke loose again and he was grateful that he hadn't escaped the pod when he realized the ship was crashing. It provided some form of safety, although he did smash his head on the top and he was sure a goose egg would form there soon enough. He squeezed his eyes shut and held his head as whatever was happening outside happened. There was a ringing in his ears that blocked out all of the other sounds around him. When it finally stopped, he realized that he had stopped too. Whatever was happening was over and the pod started to open. Cody practically fell out onto the floor but immediately scrambled to his feet. When he looked around, he noticed the others emerging too and was relieved to see them alive.

When the doors began to open, Cody was one of the first there to see what was happening. What he saw was jaw dropping. There was an entire world on the other side of those doors. A green world. He had always heard stories of worlds like this. Worlds not made of rock and metal. He didn't really believe it until he saw it with his own eyes. As he stared in wonder, he started to gently laugh in sheer astonishment. There was so much to see and he wanted to see it all. He followed a girl out onto the grass and stared down at it, noticing a line of insects pass by in front of him. He was so busy watching them that he didn't notice the older man approach. He jumped slightly when he heard his voice but didn't respond to his question. Cody honestly didn't have the faintest idea what was happening.

@Automaton I know that feel. But don't worry, you're good.
Nate was quick to grab hold of Jennifer before her head hit the ground. He rolled his eyes at Vin's angry outburst and informed him "She'll recover. Do you want to leave another dead breadcrumb leading the cops straight to us?" Despite his words, Nate understood how Vin felt. He didn't want to see JJ hurt, despite how annoying she was at times. But if he understood her powers correctly, and he admittedly wasn't sure he did, she didn't absorb all of the injuries of the person she healed. Only a portion of it. At least he hoped that's how it worked. He was well aware that this current situation was his fault. The voices in his head only echoed the statement. One seemed to be gently laughing though, which disturbed Nate.

He swept JJ up in his arms, this time with much more care than he had after their first meeting. His ribs ached again and the pain was obvious on his face. The road kill was full of questions, all of which annoyed Nate. He swept JJ around and headed back towards the car where he shoved her at Vin before grabbing him by the face and saying "She'll be alright." His expression seemed oddly caring for someone like Nate. He smiled at Vin then and said "I haven't been wrong yet, have I?"

He didn't wait for a response to that and instead turned back around and headed towards the stranger who was now starting to freak out and muttering that he had killed someone. All of Nate's caring nature seemed to have been spent though and he simply reached out and shoved the stranger onto his ass. "Welcome to the club." he stated before turning and heading back to the car.
