I wish to be the villain! I think I could make a good one.
"....I will have my revenge....I will destroy all those who stand in my way. My conquest begins now, and it will be very..very bloody..."
In the dreams of our fair heroes, an omen looms. Figures that bring fourth anger, spite, rage, and malevolence appear, only for them to cut them down. This rage feels un-natural...for it is. Someone has corrupted their dreams with rage....preventing nightmares. Someone is encroaching on the domain of the queen of nightmares, to make themselves known.....a name echoes within our heroes minds...
Mortis.......Dark...Mortis......((Mort-tis))
Mortis.....
Mortis!
MORTIS!
With the final screaming of the name our heroes would find themselves jolted from their sleep, rest, or whatever duty would bring them dreams....and as such, they knew there was something terribly wrong going on.

This still a thing?
Name: King C. Tritoli. Aka, the Rune-Cowboy.
Species: Fantasy Dwarf
Age:24
Appearance: Imagine a dwarf version of clint eastwood, add in some Dr. Shultz from Django unchained, and you got em.
Abilities: Rune equipment: While lacking special powers himself, King does have an array of mystical rune equipment. This equipment can do things outside of their normal range.
Rune repeating crossbow: Rather than tote a pistol, King brings with him a repeating crossbow, think something a cross between a crossbow, and a pistol. This weapon, called the eraser, fires bolts of mystical energy which can melt though normal metals, and punch quarter sized holes into people.
Runic Boots: King's boots also are rune covered. As such, when it is needed, he can plant his feet, the mystical properties of his boots letting him root himself into place.
Runic gloves: Thank to his special gloves, King's grip can be bolstered, which is useful when handling The Eraser, or when holding onto something else.
Erase: When facing a rather dangerous foe, or he feels like finishing a mook with style, King can activate Erase, turning the normally semi-auto crossbow, into a full auto beam of destruction, having been known to totally erase his foes, leaving nothing less than a tiny pile of ash. However, he must lock himself in place in order to not be sent flying by the kickback of the weapon. As such, it is possible to avoid the attack. After Erasing someone, King must wait for his weapon to cool down before he uses it again.
Weaknesses: Other than his runic equipment, he is a normal dwarf. Stronger physically than a human, and maybe a bit more durable, he lacks the ability to heal himself. He doesn't have supernatural reflexes, nor is he super strong.
King has a weakness to damsels in distress. If a lady is in trouble, he will seek out to help them. He also can be manipulated by women rather easily.
Erase has a tell, when it starts up, his theme song begins to play. As such, if you hear Unchained, you better dodge.
Bio: In the dominion, along side clones, Dwarven prisoners are sold as slaves, their above human base strength making them prime candidates for workers, and mules of sorts. King was once such slave, sold at birth by his uncle, as his mother was unfaithful to his uncle. From a young age, King lived on the outskirts of Dominion territory, being moved from place to place, being abused, and forced to work...however, when moved to a new flux world, a world which was said to have had a strange race that existed before others living on it, during his mining, King discovered a treasure trove of Progenitor weapons, covered in strange runes.
As he moved towards the weapons, a few called out to him, a strange crossbow, a pair of gloves that changed to fit him, and a pair of boots that did the same. Seeing this as his chance, he lead other slaves to this trove of weapons, and with them, they took the planet from the dominion.
King, however, rather than settling down on the world he helped free, sought adventure. Setting out, he bid his friends farewell, as he set out to explore the multiverse. Now, known as the Rune-Cowboy due to his attire, he travels the multiverse, seeking adventure, booze, gals to save, that whole shtick.

Name: Dark Mortis
Species: Half human, half chaos being.
Age: Unknown, theorized to be several thousand years old.
Appearance: A tall, nearly seven foot tall being, humanoid, covered in pitch black armor, save for his glowing red eyes. His weapon of choice a solid metal hammer.
Abilities:
Vengeful One: Mortis is in a never ending berserk, lending himself increased strength, speed, and endurance, despite his size. He can, and will, do things such as rip off his own limbs, if it means he is able to continue the fight. His pain is dulled to the point of non-issue. The only point where his rage will fade, is after he has destroyed Lucy, Queen of nightmares.
Seek and destroy: When something, or someone stands in the way of Mortis' revenge, he will focus on destroying them above all else. Nothing will distract him, except for a bigger threat, or Lucy herself.
Harvester of Sorrow: Mortis will grow stronger the more anger, pain, and misery there is around him, for he feeds off of these emotions, fuel for his fire.
Children of the Grave: One of Mortis' signature abilities, Mortis summons souls that seek revenge against his current foe, their rage in the after life allowing him to bring them into the physical realm. Depending on the universal limiter, and how much the target of this ability has sent people to the grave that would seek revenge against them, this ability may summon only a handful of specters, or an army.
Symphony of Destruction: When Mortis starts on a rampage, music created from the spirits of the destroyed will be heard across the land of which he is unleashing carnage upon. This music can inspire anger, and rage in others, leading to allies turning against one another.
Weaknesses:
Fade to Black....: One Mortis has wrought his vengeance against Lucy, or he is tricked into thinking he has, the rage that sustains him will fail, and his body will break apart, killing him, unless a powerful healer manages to put him back together from the little that remains of the man behind the monster.
Cry: If one can find Mortis' daughter, who has been put into a coma on his home world, and if they can wake her from her never ending nightmare, and bring her to him, Mortis will break down, and weep. His rage will halt, and his heart will feel happiness, a feeling he hasn't experienced in thousands of years. He will begin to fade, and soon, would be left in a similar situation as if Fade to Black had occured...but if someone were to kill his daughter before him, they would find themselves the target of Mortis's infinite rage.
Blackest Heart: Mortis, like Lucy, has a weak point, a crystal. His crystal is located in his dead heart, and if shattered, Mortis will die, breaking apart.
Bio: Once a Dark Sorcerer, Mortis once went by another name, lost to time. He used his dark powers to try to take over his world, but not for money, or power..to keep that which he held most, his daughter, safe. His world had monsters, madmen, greedy kings, and selfish gods. He sought to use the powers of darkness to bring balance to his lands, his rage fueling the darkness that helped to bring light.
Until one fateful day, when Mortis encountered another Dark Sorcerer. The two clashed, but Mortis came out victorious. However, his dying foe placed a curse on Mortis with his final breath, strengthening this spell to the point even Mortis couldn't shatter it. The curse, that the ones Mortis cared for most would fall into an infinite nightmare, never to awake again. Mortis' daughter fell to this curse, into a sleep from which all she could do was scream into the waking world.
Mortis went into hiding with his daughter, searching for a way to awake her from this eternal torment. He eventually stumbled upon text that spoke of the chaos realm, and a being named Lucy, Queen of Nightmares. Mortis eventually came to the conclusion that if he were to pass the trials of Lucy, and gain an audience with her, that she could in fact free his daughter. He prepared a ritual, and entered into the Dark Wood Circus, determined to defeat the challenges that lay within.
He was not prepared truly, for the horrors that waited him. As he entered into the circus, Lucy warped his greatest fear before him. In this place, he was lead to believe she had dragged his daughter here, and that every waking moment, she was going though unearthly torture and defilement. Many men would of fallen to insanity in a situation like this, but Mortis, he lost himself to rage. He attempted to destroy the Circus, thinking if he did, he could save his daughter. This lead to only more torment for the fictional facsimile of his loved one. In grief, and anger, Mortis utter one final sentence, one final note to what he thought was his daughter. "I'm...sorry..." Before channeling his rage into one final attempt. He blew himself, and a small chunk of the part, into bits, hoping to end the torment of his daughter.
Laying there, dying, Mortis' mind focused on his hatred for Lucy, for he blamed her for it all. In the chaos realm, such intense emotions could be made manifest. His dying body was combined with hatred, turning him into a partial chaos being. Now, turned into the monster known today as Dark Mortis, he seeks out a way to destroy Lucy, and have his revenge.
