Bio

I have been writing as a hobby for longer than you have been alive. I have been a regular member and roleplayer of no less than fourteen different online forums during that time (including the old RPG), five six eight of which no longer exist.

I was previously a regular on the Homestuck forums, but I became so sick of thread turnover there that I asked around and eventually found the Guild. Since joining, I have exclusively only participated in Advanced RPs. Before Mahz gave NRPs their own subforum, I used to be an NRP regular in the Advanced Subforum. I am a Guildfall survivor, and know/regularly write with a few others.

If you ask anybody who has written with me in previous RPs, they should tell you that I have a generally open schedule, I post regularly and in a timely fashion, and I never drop an RP once I join unless the thread dies. Some of them may tell you that I have extensive expertise within the realms of Biology, Psychology, and Physics, which I will make no effort to validate since there is no way I can provide hard proof of aforementioned alleged expertise to anybody over the internet (though I am happy to try and answer any questions you send my way).

My favorite fandom is the Myst franchise, which seemingly nobody other than me has ever heard of.

I was a Contest Moderator for the Writing Contests Subforum for just a little bit over two years. I wrote the Moderation Policy for that subforum and I ran a contest called the Twelve Labours; you can still go there and see all of them and the entries people wrote for them in the Contests Section and the Victory Archives.

I have been quadruple secret banned from the guild discord. That is not a joke.

I'm a bit torn on them- I had interpreted their philosophy as destroying traces of their past as a way of separating themselves from it and starting new, though 'traces of their past' would probably encompass the entire planet, wouldn't it? In either case, they'll be hostile towards the other nations, especially the Tribunal, who want to study the very things that the Cult wants to get rid of for one reason or another.
And yet they have members on the Tribunal. That was sort of my whole point.
I question why the Cultists would be involved, considering their ultimate goal is to literally destroy the world, and then, if they have the time, the entire universe. They only seem to use diplomacy insofar as they can twist and bend others to follow their own twisted philosophy.
Just wanted to let everyone else know - my next post is essentially 90% complete (it's missing a response section to Greg in Two Solid Shadows), but I will not be able to post it this weekend due to various shenanigans. It will be going up sometime on Monday.
Hey Marshall, how common is Old World technology exactly in this world? I mean, Ultikana's post mentioned air support and firebombing, but DAWNSTAR's sheet says that guns aren't common.
The notion of still having air support /is/ surprising. That requires a working airport, fuel, a source of fuel, a way to refine and filtrate it, a sophisticated housing and maintenance facility, more spare parts than you can fit in a garage and all that other jazz. One would presume most of the infrastructure required - at some point or another in that sequence - has been obliterated or rendered derelict.
Not but a moment after Edgar entered the Manor, an odd incident occurred at the top of the main staircase. What must have been another party-guest, wearing a neat Tuxedo and a golden lion mask, was standing by the upper-right banister, standing perfectly still and looking down at the crowd. Out of the blue, his head jerked down, smashing directly into the top of the banister with an audible cracking noise that was heard throughout the entire foyer. He then tilted to the side and began falling down the stairs, his arms twisting and bending unnaturally as his shoulders smashed into the staircase, his legs upending over his head as he tumbled down back-first. He careened to the side, slamming into the side-railing and then again down the center. Just when it seemed he was going to fall to the floor at the base of the staircase, his legs seemed stiffen and eerily pull upright just as the man rebounded off the lowermost step, and then he neatly stepped out of his previously uncontrolled fall directly onto the foyer floor as if nothing had happened. Most of the onlookers either began to clap or laugh in excitement - whether or not he was an entertainer or just incredibly lucky, it had been something of a curious sight for all of them. The man in the lion mask stood stock-still, and then began to sway from side to side, his body tilting and bending in any and every direction while his legs remained utterly rigid, like a drunken man who had his feet glued to the ground. The party guests, by then, had begun to ignore him and return to their conversations. Not so much as one of them considered checking the man or calling for medical assistance. He continued to shiver and quake in place, completely unaware of his surroundings.

Corbel did not deign to arrive through the front door, and nor did he bother to wear a mask. The limited rind of pulp he wore over a frame of bone was already disguise enough, and he had no intention of needlessly cavorting with those within the manor itself. Having climbed over the stone wall that surrounded the estate, he had walked briskly through the gardens - making little effort to hide his presence - and made his way inside through the garden patio connecting to the rear ballroom. The clothes he wore, at least, were not entirely out of place - red silk and velvet, in an anachronistically displaced style. Most of the guests didn't give him a second look. He began scanning the room, watching for the recipient of his first message.
What a sorry name for an angel.

I see the IC is up! I shall complete my angel profile post-haste and make my first post.
I have finished updating the previous profile for Dihira, Mistress of the House of Books. Both of her profiles - original and official - may be viewed in the characters tab. I await the start of the RP proper.
I'll acknowledge the difficulties inherent in making a collab between six posters - even as few as three can be hard to work around. As I said though - I'll attempt to work with the current post regardless. I just wanted to make note of the issue so that in the future, perhaps we can attempt a different approach. In the context of this situation, what I might have done would be to have Pierce blurt out to the entire Bar that the men are Varisie infiltrators, and for Walkins to summon his spirit/draw his weapons and start firing without saying anything (make some token hostile gesture simply to instigate the 'Boss Fight.' >.>) - leave the reality of whether he actually is an Inquisitor for the posters to ponder over and confirm afterwards. Meanwhile, have the four flunkies grab their weapons and start to get out of their seats. While Inquisitors from the church of Aer are (I presume) nominally allowed to come and go as they please, considering that the Western City-States are in a pitched war with Varisie, the knowledge of their nationality alone - combined with their openly worn weapons - is reason enough to attempt to apprehend them. All of that would happen within just a few instants and still tells us everything we need to know - our characters could, immediately upon hearing the warning, either summon their own spirits, draw their own weapons, preemptively dodged out of the way, all that jazz, and we have a pitched barroom fight scene. It doesn't preclude any other characters from acting (the only event that could have been interrupted would be Pierce's outburst), and it doesn't preclude Walkins and his men from acting either (since they can use that post to start moving). If you're concerned about getting character growth out of Walkins, I would suggest not putting him in the middle of a bar, surrounded and outnumbered by guild regulars? :P
I am unsure how to proceed, primarily for the reason that I'm pretty sure most of the characters and spirits in the bar wouldn't have just sat still and let the boy grab the rifle, jump over the counter, fire it, let Walkins dust himself off, briefly chortle and be warned by Alan, and then do a mask flourish while summoning a spirit. I'm pretty sure either Kuro or Eli would have shot him in the face somewhere in the middle of that sequence of events. Several times. Or one of Helen's/Eli's spirits would have done something. I am also somewhat skeptical that Eli let Pierce take the rifle at all. It's something of an ontological disconnect. I'm not actually objecting to the post since what's done is done, but our characters aren't inanimate furniture. I'm just saying I'm sure there are plenty of ways to advance the scene/plot without locking out our characters' efficacy during a cutscene, yeah? Am I alone in that preconception? I'm not trying to cause an upset; I'm just saying that the way the scene has been set up has precluded any action that my character, at the very least, could take. It makes it difficult for me as a narrator to reply. Also, Lucius' url is broken.
