Hey remember when this site didn't have 3 tabs in the IC threads? Crazy.

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Welcome to the guild, friend. Do the do and find yourself some Coolio RPs.
Here's a bump.
Gaius Stronurr

The Throne Room

A collection of metallic clanks resounded as Gaius' armor breathed. The titanic knight knelt before his king with an open ear, half expecting an order to mobilize the guard. A preposterous thought, he was sure of it. An upset echoed past a duo of nearby pillars, catching his attention for a split second, but he remained resolute, grinning under his metal mask as he heard Sarah's voice denounce the sneaky intruders. She was as reliable as she was beautiful, as her husband Richard put it. Gaius was never one to disagree with praise. His thoughts drifted back towards the king as silence seeped back into the throne room, but what he heard next was far less climactic than what his mind had whipped up.

Sera? Tivo? That quiet boy? He thought to himself, glancing at the slits in his helmet. Why am I tasked with the safety of children? Gaius shook the thought with a visible twist of his neck and nodded. Was that all? An order bordering on prophetic and unsound predictions? What did the king know? Gaius rose to his feet, turned away from his highness, and made his way out of the throne room with unsteady steps. His armor wobbled loudly, but it didn't help to distract from the eerie feeling that proceeded the King's announcement. Something was going to happen.

The next day
Outside of the Castle

Gaius found himself on guard detail outside of the castle perimeter when the announcement was made. The meteor shower was splendid, or so he'd heard. Unfortunately for him, the big oaf had dozed off prior to the event, missing the spectacle by a mile. That's what he got for overworking himself like a mule. What would the guard do without him? Probably goof off and let the entirety of Heron fall into anarchy. Yea, that sounded just about right.

Well, like it or not, they would have to learn to manage without him for a while. Gaius felt the need to join the search party himself, confident that without his experience and leadership, those who decided to venture forth would be utterly lost in the world beneath him. Honestly though, even the captain of the guard was sure to lose his bearings if he was thrown into the realm of the unknown. His decision was final, regardless. This star was important enough to his highness that it commanded a hefty reward with its retrieval. Yet another reason for Gaius to join the search. What if an unworthy citizen was to return with the star? He was certain that it would plunge the kingdom into darkness. Or something to that effect, anyways. Sera, Tivo and that strange man from a land far off would have to do without his protection as well. Surely the king wouldn't mind too much. His orders were vague, and without reason, after all.

The Eastern Cliffs

A chorus of rattling metal rang over the hill, drowning out the subtle breeze and migrant avian creatures rather abruptly. Hark! It was the all-too-familiar calling card of Heron's captain of the guard! In the past, many took heed and turned their necks towards the sound of his glistening jade-stained armor when he approached! It was hard not to when every subtle movement that the gargantuan man made offset every other sound in his immediate vicinity. What a ruckus.

Gaius was surprised to see that somebody had arrived before him, so much so that he paused at the foot of the meeting spot with a loud 'Clang!' and stared at Sera from several yards away. "Oho! Your profound punctuality continues to beset my reputation, Sera!" Gaius chortled, creaking back into motion. He found his way across the clearing to the girl's side and grasped the edges of his armor's waistline. This was one of the children that the king had mentioned before this whole event had thrown his citizens into a state of wonder. Was it a coincidence? Bah! He had hoped to escape the king's vapid musings. He'd already written off the star-fall as a coincidence, irrelevant to the king's prophetic words, but for this girl to have volunteered the same as Gaius? "I'd not have pinned you as a girl for dangerous adventure!" Gaius heaved, unsure of where this day would take them.
Krunk Fortress, Lobby

Right Away Boss!

The army of kitchen-Krunklets heeded everything they heard, rushing over one another in fear towards a row of fridges near the back of the room. These little guys weren't trained for combat, and certainly weren't looking to pick a fight. In a few moments, a little round man walked up to Zerraf, holding a bottle of premium Winshter-Shefter Ale. Looking up innocently, he handed the bottle to him. Aw, it was kind of cute, in a weird-contorted-ball-man sort of way...

Another chef approached Jenso and nodded, as if he were about to reveal the secret to Lord Krunk's fortress..

"NO SIR. I CANNOT TELL YOU THIS INFORMATION SIR. PLEASE DON'T KILL ME SIR," It cried, dropping to its knees, which just made it look like its legs had disappeared.

The shorter man's eyes flew askew for a split second. Something called his attention towards the wood behind him. "Just uh," He paused, craning his head backwards and sifting through the trees like a starved hawk. "Trying to find our way home, is all. My friend here had the astoundingly profound idea to cut through this forest- Hah, a lot of good that did us, eh Ruso?" He quipped, nudging his elbow into Ruso's knee-bone, only to reel back in pain as his arm ricocheted of the man's tree-like leg. Ruso sighed and nodded. "Perhaps you could save us some trouble, might either of you two know your way between Hyznia and Arcadia, by chance?"

Haley pulled back and stared blankly at the courteous Junker. "Oh- Yes, right!" She stammered, furling her fingers, "May he uh, guide you up... Somewhere, too..." She promptly sat back down once Jager turned away and huffed a breath of relief. There was no reason to be worried. Not yet. They weren't outside the walls, and malice wouldn't follow the true survey initiative. She was sure of that much, but these weren't just CMAS mages on board the ATVs. These were Divers. Their motives could not be any less of a mystery, and that was the most terrifying factor of this mission.

Dan looked across the interior at Jager as he sat back down in his seat with a curious, intrusive grin. The ominous cretin was shorter than most other Junkers there, and hunched forwards so that his neck hovered several inches above his knees. "Hey!" He hissed, fiddling with both of his hands between his knee-gap, "You really one of Kho's kids?" Dan didn't break eye contact, and almost never blinked. Considering the high-tech looking visor that rested on his forehead, the man probably spent hours upon hours with his eyes fixated at an arcane torch, or some other bright machinist contraption. Dan sat patiently. His machinist garb coiled tightly around his stomach as he waited for a response.
@Mokley When will the progression occur? It would appear that there isn't much more interaction to be had at the moment (Or people simply haven't been posting)
Mathias turned towards the oncoming ship when the man on board shouted. He frowned. How dare they!? "This courtroom is..." Mathias began, putting his old wanted poster away and jumping across the deck towards where the enemy ship was approaching from, "CLOSED!"

With that last word, his gavel increased in size again until it was utterly massive, and he brought it down into the bow of the enemy ship, nearly tipping the entire vessel over with the force of his blow. Ultimately, the front 3rd of the rust-silver pirate ship that came to attack ended up in shards, splinters of wood shooting off in every direction. The remaining part of the ship began to sink into the water, but crashed into the ship holding Zypha, Abigail, and the escaped prisoners, jostling the entire platform violently. "Oops!" Mathias cried, his hammer already disappearing. He retreated back towards the group of pirates behind him with a nervous smile.
The crazed man tilted his head from side to side as Abigail spoke. His pupils wandered like a pair of unbound marbles, ignorant of what the woman was saying to him. He didn't care about her excuses or moral contradictions! This was a courtroom now!

"Podium-" The man howled. Suddenly, a tube of mass, in the same shape of his judgement hammer, appeared under his feet and rose him up, letting abigail's sword strike it. Her blade went right through the 'podium' though, cutting it like cheese. "Ohoho~? You can cut my podium?" He mused, shrinking his hammer back down to a gavel-sized tool, and looking down at Abigail from his podium of power, "Let me assure you, my dear pirate," The man wheezed, pulling another wanted poster from his pocket and hanging it over Abigail's head.

"My judgement isn't pretentious or flawed!"

The poster showed a rather unflattering portrait of the crazed man sticking out his tongue and making a pair of 'OK' signs with his hands.

Diver's Paradise

Tinon's Room

Tinon clenched his teeth, visibly parading the muscles in his delicate jawline. Luke bounced his head continuously, "Yea," He whispered, "Yea! That's what we're gunna do!" Tinon's eyebrows twitched for a moment before he closed his eyes and offered Alvios a single nod of agreement. Luke brushed Laura off and made his way towards the Room's exit. "The hell with ditching our home! That aint gunna be an option anytime soon! The fact that you two are even considering that is a fuckin' blemish on our paradise! Laura," Luke paused and grabbed his sister's arm, forcibly yanking her towards him, "Yer gunna come with me. We'll go by every last one of the people here and sweep their brains for information usin' your brain powers. Might as well rule out some options, yea?" Laura pulled her arm away from her brother and scowled. But a few moments later, she crossed her arms and nodded, staring at her husband's feet anxiously.

"...Very well, Luke. If you would command it, let it be so. But you and Alvios will be retroactively crushing any chances for our paradise to plant itself elsewhere and grow anew. This is a rash-"

"Shut the hell up, Tinon. I don't want to hear it. Laura, c'mon!" Luke said, scooping at the air with his arm and pointing towards the door, "Alvios, you might wanna start elsewhere. Check with our contacts, get whatever info you can. Oh," Luke paused and turned to his friend with a grimace, "And you may want to go retrieve Yvette and he crew. Somethin' tells me that they were never 'spose to get back to Arcadia alive. That survey group didn't have any CMAS mages of interest innit. They all seemed like newbies fresh outta' the academy. Seems a little careless for a survey group, if you ask me."

Hyznia

Castle Exterior

"Hail, travelers!" The shorter man called, waving his hand overhead in an oddly dignified fashion that contrasted his demeanor significantly. He patted his shirtless chest and smiled with a nod, "We seem to be a tad turned around! Might we be welcome to that castle city over yonder?" He questioned.

Haley shifted uncomfortably in place as Jager approached her, fumbling about the lead seat with thoughts of assassination and contempt on her mind. Her leather shoulder-pads dug into the right side of her neck as she turned her head up and towards Jager with a nervous smile. "Oh, ah, yes! That's my name," She affirmed, standing up and accepting Jager's Greeting, albeit with an awkward, reluctant motion of her right hand. "There's no need for these formalities though, It's quite alright! Ahaha.."
