People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Chapter 6

...A duel!?

Lark pulled his weapon back and swung it at Jenso delayed momentum. It was slow, like he was a normal human swinging a long sword, but Jenso wasn't exactly made of steel. The blade sung as it sliced forward, threatening to cut Jenso's arm clean off.
"A training dummy... Oh! Ohohoho!" Lark clapped his hands one last time and pointed to his chest with a wide grin, "Maybe I can help you after all, Jenso!" Without hesitation, Lark summoned his blade once again and held it up with both hands. "Get ready!" He shouted, charging at Jenso without hesitation. Was he going to attack Jenso head on? With no warning?? What in the world was he thinking? For all Jenso knew, this man could have been even stronger than Prisma! There it was, Lark in mid-sprint, dashing towards Jenso with intent to kill.

~ End Of Chapter 5 ~
@Whimsley Oh, sorry. I'll get on that tomorrow morning.
Lark smiled for a few moments in a silence, but shook it off and nodded. "Yep, that's Ki for ya kid, and quite a bit of it too. No way in hell it can be explained any other way," he said casually. Lark then turned over to a much larger boulder than the one that Jenso picked up, and lifted it from below. It was at least 10 times larger, the size of a wrecking ball, but Lark was able to lift it with as much ease as Jenso could. "Ki has some powerful effects on your strength, kid. Even if you aren't consciously using it. If your latent abilities are so strong, then... Well, you might even become even stronger than I am!" Lark dropped the giant boulder and clapped his hands clean. "Unfortunately, I can't really help you learn how to harness your abilities."
Lark's mouth hung open for a moment as he lifted the relatively large boulder without any problems. "The hell have you been eating, buddy? That's some seriously unnatural strength!" Lark said, rushing over to Jenso and uncrossing his arms. "Have you always been this strong?"
Lark shrugged, desummoning his sword, "I can't teach you how to use magic, kid. I can only tell you where it comes from. Heck, who even knows if you've got an aura at all? People who can use magic are rare as hell!" Lark paused, and shrugged again. "You won't be able to harness any magical abilities if you just try really hard. Sometimes they're gained from more than inherent talent, like from a deity's spirit, or a magical artifact... Ki may not be trainable, but if your Ki is strong enough, sometimes it will leak through regardless of whether or not you're conscious of it."
Lark laughed heartily and nodded his head. "Yea, she's a beaut. Now, watch closely," Lark said, lowering his sword to the ground. In a slow motion, he rose it up and arced it around his entire body, leaving a trail of water behind it that floated in air for a moment, and then rained down. "Arcane energy is the base of all matter and, well, energy! Fire, water, earth, air, you can potentially do anything with it if your body's capable. Most magical people have a certain affinity though, based on their arcane energy. I don't, because I'm pretty amazing," Lark boasted. After that, his blade began to glow a bright yellow, making the air around him and Jenso ever so slightly warmer.

"This is Ki! This stuff can vary in strength, and you cannot train it at all. It makes people a shit ton stronger if they harness it though, and in some very rare situations, you can expell your aura in energy type techniques that are devastatingly powerful!" Lark swung his sword to the right and unleashed a wave of white energy that sliced into the trees and cleared a path forward. "Like that. Sometimes Ki is so powerful, that it shines though even if you don't harness it, and grants people amazing abilities, like increased regeneration, pain reduction, strength enhancement, and insane agility! Stuff's pretty nifty, but unless you're like me, it's pretty rare to find somebody with a strong residual Ki flow."
"Like I said, all I can do is teach you the basics. There aren't many people who can use magic to begin with, but from what I've been told, everyone uses it differently," Lark explained briefly. He then rose his hands and smiled.

"Still, if you want a better chance at getting anywhere, you should know how magic works!" Lark then spun in place and pointed to Pij. "Magic is split into two categories, Arcane and Ki. The average living creature is composed of Ki, the soul energy, and arcane energy, the matter and natural energy that keeps us alive. Without Ki, we would not be unique from one another, and without arcane energy, our matter couldn't even exist!" Lark explained. "The basic principal is as follows, bud. Arcane energy is linked to our brains, and Ki is linked to all of us! Ki affects our physical abilities, and Arcane energy affects our magical abilities. It's pretty complicated, so let me show you-" Lark paused and rose a hand, summoning a very ornate green long sword between his fingers. It contrasted his animal pelts vividly, like it was meant for royalty.

"This is the Soul Breaker, a weapon composed of both my Ki and arcane energy. Fusing the two energies is a rare ability, so I'm not even going to try and explain it, but I need this thing out to show you the difference between the two energies!" Lark walked outside with his blade, opening the door and standing in the clearing. "Come on out, Jenso-man!"
"Actually, there isn't," Lark shrugged and chuckled. "I can't sense Ki or Arcane energy, so I can't really judge your aura at all, haha! Sorry kiddo."
"Haha, would you look at that," Lark whispered as he finished reading the letter with a strong frown. He crunched it up and threw it into a nearby corner. "He called you a wannabe hero too." Lark stood up and Pij flew over to the table in front of Jenso. "Kid, truth is, teaching magic aint a thing. If you don't have a natural ability, you won't be able to use magic." Lark shrugged and turned to him with a fake smile.

"I'd be willing to teach you the basics, but I can't teach you how to harness your abilities."
