People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

@Necrophage If I have your word I'll get to work on a remaster when I have a chance. Woop woop
The water closed behind him and solidified again into a massive ice-ball, which propelled itself towards his body like a boulder. meanwhile, the elemental sphere launched yet another electrical blast, not at Jenso, but at the ball of ice that headed towards him.
The knights were prepared to bound into action as soon as the beast of a man expressed his anger. But as Mikhael pulled Rajaka Further from his allies, Lucas stood in their way and rose his hands. "Return to the castle! Mikhael has made his choice! This is not a foe we can defeat with brute strength alone!" He shouted, pulling his sword from the ground and directing the group back towards the town. "Evacuate the civilians! Rendezvous with the Queen and her Guard!" The Knights didn't wait a moment, acting immediately. They poured into Kale, Henry leading the group unintentionally, and carrying out Lucas' orders. "If she doesn't knight me and Mikhael after this..." Lucas thought, glancing back at the yellow giant and Mikhael one last time before heading into Kale himself.

Rajaka chased after Mikhael with resounding thuds beneath every step. The ground practically shook, or was just Mikhael's heartbeat? It didn't matter. As soon as Rajaka was met with another attack, he stopped hard on his left foot, allowing the blade to strike the side of his kneecap. There was a subtle crunch as the blade pierced his pants and struck bone, but it didn't penetrate any further than perhaps two inches. Rajaka tensed his eyebrows and pulled his right arm back for a split second, before launching it at Mikhael's face with titanic force. Although relatively sluggish, the Giant's physical agility was nothing to gawk at while up close and personal, but his technique left much to be desired. The only real danger behind Rajaka's blows was their sheer power.
As her engines whirred into motion and propelled her through uncharted space, the distress beacon suddenly stopped. Her ship continued forward unladen, towards where she'd last detected the mysterious signal, but within minutes of travel, the once empty section of space in front of her filled with a series of grey blurs, obscuring her sight and blocking out the distant constellation of stars beyond the Beta sector. The Numinous was now face-to-face was what could only be described as a giant wall of steel. Or perhaps it was something else? Whatever it was, it stood in Mischa's way and if she'd bumped into this astronomical vessel, there wasn't going to be a chance to exchange information.

Before she had a chance to react though, a loud thud echoed from the depths of her ship, originating from her room. Did something get onto her ship?! There was no way! Teleportation was tech that superseded the core world's technology. Even then, how could it have been so accurate to target her ship with so little effort? A clatter sounded as something began to bounce across the length of her room. It didn't sound metallic, but whatever the hell is was, it had to wait. The imminent crash demanded Mischa's full attention, and fast.
Jenso succeeded in crushing a part of the ice wall, but as he grabbed a chunk of ice, it melted in his hands, as did the rest of the wall. The water then surrounded him like a bubble and began to close in on the golden boy rather quickly.
Rajaka stood firm and withstood Mikhaels blow. As the knights fist crashed against his skin, there was an audible thwack, and within moments, the skin around the impact point turned grey. His skin was rough, but soft enough to vend against the impact of the blow. Rajaka backed away, stumbling like an oaf that had just been struck by a massive flail, or something to that effect at least. "Oh!" He yelped, steadying himself a few feet away. The skin around where mikhael landed his punch then returned to its fleshy pink hue. "You got me!" The giant knelt down on one knee for a moment, but before there was any time for celebration, Rajaka began to chuckle. "Man, is that all?" He grunted, looking Mikhael dead in the eyes. His expression shifted violently to one of anger, as if he'd just been insulted. After his pathetic charade just moments earlier, it seemed completely out of place.

"Mikhael! Stand down!" Lucas bleated, finally managing to stand up once again.

"Shut up!" Rajaka roared, "I shoulda known! Stupid humans, and their stupid goddamn.." He paused and began to growl, before reapproaching Mikhael with his fists clenched shut. There was a glimmer of ill-bred hope in the man's golden eyes, but his anger was slowly becoming a deadly factor. "Show me something!"
@Quinntessential If you would like, the reference certaintly doesn't hurt, but it's not neccessary.
Although the orb was still, the electricity was still buzzing, and as soon as Jenso approached again, a stream of lightning headed towards him once again.
The man cringed when Mikhael questioned his origins, but once he seemed prepared to fight, his faint expression returned to one of unrelenting expectation. "That's what I like to hear, Micky!" The man pulled both of his arms back and moved them in large circles, stretching out his muscles ever so slightly. "I feel tense! Super tense! Oh man- Ah, right.." The giant paused, took a courteous stance, and bowed before Mikhael. "I, Rajaka, formally accept your uh.. Challenge, Micky!" His head tilted up and he rolled his eyes up, looking slightly confused. Half of the knights shared this sentiment. "Or did I challenge you? Was there even a- Ah forget it!" Rajaka stood up straight and stomped his feet against the ground gently. "I gotta stop listening to that idiot."

Lillian ran back towards the edge of the group, towards the castle. She couldn't stand watching this nonsense any longer, she needed to contact the Queen. Maya had to know something about this buffoon, and his claim on the scar in the sky. Henry didn't follow, but he watched as the slender knight made her way across the civilian gathering in the distance.

"But just to be uh... Courteous... I'll give you one free shot!" Rajaka mocked, raising both his hands outwards and exposing his bare abdomen for Mikhael to strike at. "Come on!"
~ Chapter 1 ~

Unknown Contact

Asteroids streamed by behind the Numinous as it drifted through space, suffering little in terms of wear in its long journey from the edge of the core worlds. Mischa Pomonov was well on her way into the darkest reaches of uncharted space, the Beta sector, perhaps headed towards immeasurable technology, or so she might've hoped. After her most recent jump, her scanners were still unable to pick up anything of interest. The cockpit window gazed into blackness, lit only by a scarce collection of stars that could not even be seen from her home worlds. She was farther out this time than ever before, and perhaps, to no avail.

Very few were willing to explore the vast expanse between the Alpha and Gamma sectors. The Beta sector was aptly dubbed dead space, though that was more of a buzz phrase to dissuade inexperienced pilots from heading towards their certain doom. Although the Beta sector was certainly vast, and mostly empty, there were no real dangers that accompanied exploration of the darkness within. Well, aside from the occasional plasmatic event, or running out of supplies without any chance of finding help. But like the saying always went, if nobody's been there, how can you really say that it's empty? That's what good ole' Gregory used to say, anyways. The man was a nut-job, but his age held more than phantasmal tales of wonder. It helped that he was one of the only mentors that actually treated Mischa with care. He had a fatherly air about him, but it was often overcome by his quirky nature, and idiotic practices.

Hours into the void, and the Numinous' on-board computers began to blip frantically. It was a distress signal, coming from what appeared to be empty space. Whatever the source, this was coming from something that the ship's sensors couldn't pick up, or something that didn't want to be seen. Where was it coming from? There wasn't anything for miles showing up on the scanners, and Mischa sure as hell couldn't see anything through her cockpit window.
