I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Mikey stepped away from Jenso and closer to Gossick's selection. "Blood root? Not interested. I was more curious as to whether or not you have anything a little less, uh... Pedestrian." Mikey said quietly, trying to muffled his voice from Jenso's ears. He wasn't quite sure how Gossick would react, either, but the random straggler seemed a little less than trustworthy. That is to say, he seemed a little too trustworthy.
Jenso's fist crashed against the deepest part of the hole in the wall, allowing him to plow through the obsidian stone and crashing it out onto the metal petals that surrounding the giant structure. But the followup was disastrous.

Geode couldn't turn immediately, allowing Oz to strike him twice in a row, cracking the foundation of his midsection, and sending him skidding a few feet away. But, as Jenso broke the vacuum, the entire building immediately imploded, sending chunks of rock crashing towards Oz and Geode from all directions. Vale was caught in the impact as well, leaving a massive pile of condensed rubble in the center of the platform. Jenso fortunately escaped, into the citadel exterior where there was plenty of breathable air, but behind him lay an explosive result. Could Oz and Geode have survived?
Mikey spun around and clutched his blueprints tightly. "Nothing! Nothing at all! I'm fairly certain that I didn't break anything," Mikey mumbled, turning back to Gossick. "Right! I'm here for reasons!" He announced adamantly, "How bold is your stock, mister... Um.." Mikey stopped and lowered his eyelids. He hadn't even thought to introduce himself or ask for the shopkeep's name! And now there was some other stranger in the shop. Just another pair of eyes he had to keep away from his precious research, wasn't it?
Smash!!!

Again with this.

The front of the store shook as Mikey tripped and slammed his shoulder against the window, struggling to lug around a collection of papers rolled into long tubes as he barely maintained his balance. He reached back with his left hand, propping the tubes up while he felt for the door's handle. It took a few seconds, but as soon as he pushed down on the handle, the door swung open, and Mikey fell backwards onto his back. Swoosh. His paper rolls were flung across the floor, unravelling in midair to reveal a set of intricate drawings when they settled. Mikey lifted his body forward and stood up slowly, groaning in pain.

"Ah, damn it, sorry!" He stammered, "This again- I wasn't planning on, Oof- Making such a rough entrance." The man stood tall and patted his pants flat. The sound of clattering metal and plastic rang out as he brushed his hands across his cargo pants. Just how much crap was this guy carrying around? "Hope I didn't break, anything, uh..." Mikey rushed over to his blueprints and scrambled them up in a rush, re-adjusting the tape that held them in shape. "Anything of... Importance." He scanned the length of the doorway, examining each of the hinges carefully before turning back to Gossick with an unsure smile.
Geode felt the energies around his body tighten against the G-force despite his attempts to push it out as a mist. As Oz directed himself towards the large golem like a projectile, he had no choice but to muster what little energy remained around his body into a shield of his own. As the two collided against one another, the momentum from Oz's shield pressed against his with tremendous force. The void energy shilled away and chipped into pieces against Oz's blow, but Geode held his ground, albeit with a tremendous amount of effort put into defending against Oz's long-charged attack. He struggled to raise his black-sphere above his waist, unable to counter right away.
Geode's eyes spun slowly as Oz began to conjure his technique.

"Eh?"

The swirling torrent pulled every last one of the deactivated golems towards Geode and began to strike him one after another. He held his ground, directing his mist towards Oz quickly. But it was pulled by his vortex, back towards him. Geode struggled to life his left arm, but conjured his black hole as quickly as he could manage, pulling the incoming debris inwards as he achored himself to the ground. The channeled ability kept him safe, but he was unable to maneuver his mist with the sudden rise in G-force.

"This is not wind!" Geode grunted angrily, "What magic??"
Vale's eyes slammed shut and he rose his hands reactively. But he was still sent flying across the room, until he crashed into Gol-Ira's broken body. Geode turned towards the new influx of energy as the spheres of light rose.

"Ah, I'd forgotten that you were there. Are you going to try and power your way through me as well, boy?"
Geode's leg stomped down, missing Jenso. He closed his hands and took Jenso's strike head on, which launched him back several yards. In the time this allotted, he opened his left hand again and used his black hole technique to absorb all of Jenso's lasers before they has a chance to strike him.

The dark mist around the wall hardened once again, taking the force of Jenso's beam head on. It shrank slowly over the few seconds that it took for the beam to expire, leaving a crumbling effigy in its place. However, Jenso's attack was not successful. It did not break through the wall. The vacuum was still air-tight.

Geode lowered his hand and shook his head. "Clever for a rodent. But it remains that my defence was superior. Perhaps if you'd struck my main body with something like that- Not that you could," Geode mocked further. Where Geode stood before, a phantom of mist remained, encompassing Jenso's head and popping what remained of his bubble. The vacuum quickly snuffed out any flames that remained on his body, leaving him with only wings of pure Ki. "In the estimated 32.4 seconds it will take you to pass out, I will simply prevent any further damage from your attacks to my wall." Geode rose his hand, and the remaining void around the hole in the wall expanded once again. "And you will be captured, processed, and turned into an infinity core."
Sending the Ki Spears through the dark shards was futile. As soon as they connected, the shards erupted in a flash of light and dark, cancelling the spears out, and reforming into smaller shards that continued to chase after Jenso. For the first time, it seemed that Jenso could not simply overpower Geode. He was stronger, and had the home-field advantage.

As the ground cracked beneath him, Geode simply stepped away from any cracks near him, keeping his balance rather easily with the aid of his aura. He looked as if he was floating on air as he walked. Geode turned to the weakened Jenso, and the hundreds of tiny shards struck his back, dispersing what little barrier he had left, leaving only a bubble around his head.

"You keep trying to overpower me. It won't work. It doesn't matter how strong you've become. My power is infinite, drawn upon from the void between worlds, and feeds on Ki. The more energy you throw at me, the more powerful the void becomes in my body." Geode's body flashed with more dark energies as the flames around Jenso continued to shrink. "There is nobody here to save you now. You are all alone. Your friend is too weak to interfere, just like all humans are." Geode walked next to Jenso and launched his foot towards his head casually.
