Current I cannot - for the life of me - manage to manually turn off my PS4 by pressing the button. My damn cat, however, manages to hit it every single she even bypasses the console.

My kids found an old Barbie TV from when I was a kid - you know, the kind that was huge and boxy with a tiny-ass screen - and my daughter said "No, mommy, TV's are flat." Another parenting fail.

My kids don't understand what a (computer) mouse is or how to use it. They keep poking and swiping at my monitor. I have failed as a parent.

Bio

WIP

So, it might be high time I do this. I've been considering it for a while, but I just couldn't really muster the need to do so. So here goes nothing...

The name's The Mad Hatter, though The Mad Hatress would be more befitting, considering my lack of a penis. You can call me Mad, Hatter, Hatress, AM, Love, Sister/Sis or Whatever. I'm a 28 years old woman with a bunch of different fancy pieces of paper stating how great I am, but I haven't really found that one thing (job) that makes me happy yet. But I like writing.

I've been Post-by-Post roleplaying since I was 12, so... that's a while. I've been writing stories since I could and I've always had a great interest in Fantasy and Sci-Fi; mostly High Fantasy with Elves and Dwarves (or other fantastical creatures) and Superhero/Superhuman stuff.
I've actually been roleplaying for as long as I can remember, starting with sticks as swords in the backyard with my brothers, evolving into Live Roleplaying in the town club, then going into Pen-and-Paper at the age of ten, with PnP overlapping with PbP for a few years.

I'm an Advanced level writer, but I can do Casual, if I'm intrigued enough at the concept/idea of an RP. I'm almost always looking for a new RP, so you're very welcome to shoot me a PM if you're looking for players for something I might like.

I'm from Denmark, making me a Dane, making me Danish. Danes are known for their "rude" nature, promiscuity (and generally pretty loose view on sex), open minds, horrible (and dark) sense of humor and, mostly currently, their racism. I can't say it's not true, but I'm not a racist; at least not really. I joke.

I have a small daughter (Freja) from October 2014 and a 4 months premature son (Balder) from December 2016. I also have a wonderful husband who fully supports my roleplaying "career".
I have a tabby cat named Salli, a canarie named Robin and an aquarium full of guppies that reproduce at too rapid a rate for me to come up with names for all of them.

Just to let you guys know, I'll be on vacation starting the 17th and returning the 26th. I'll have very limited access to wifi during that time so posting will be slow.

Also, post is coming tonight.

That actually suits me just fine, since I'll have a guest here from the 17th to the 27th and my wedding is the 22nd ^_^
It'll be great, though, 'cause I haven't seen my friend in three years since he comes from America and I live in Denmark and he's been busy (and broke) with college while I've been busy making babies.
Aaaaand, I've finally gotten my shit together and wrote a post.

@NobodiesHero Feel free to either start the conversation or just move Natsu close to Haruka. Either way, I am really looking forwards to this awkwardness! Haruka is at her best when she's awkward as hell
Haruka sighed a bit to herself, shoving her left hand deeply into her pocket. Back before that time, she had used her left hand for everything, including unsheathing her sword. Now, there was a dull ache in her bicep even when she just gripped at something and it felt like the muscle was gonna tear every time she picked anything that weighted much more than a cup of sake. Cups of sake, on the other hand, she had picked up quite a few of these past few weeks in Gobi.
She took a good, deep whiff of the air as she strolled down Savory Lane. There were so many delicious scents mixing together and her nose easily concentrated on the sweet scent of a nearby dango shop. As much as she wanted to go in and stuff down her own weight in dango, she knew that she'd regret all of that unhealthy eating once she went back to her real life, so she went in another shop that smelled of grilled meats.

After eating more meat than any human should, getting odd looks from her waiter each time she asked for another portion and from other customers passing by her, seeing the unusually short and muscular girl with barbecue sauce running down her chin and dripping onto the napkin in her lap. She felt so much better with a full stomach, so after finishing her eighth portion of barbecue ribs, she indulged a bit and ordered a serving of red bean buns for dessert. They were deliciously sweet. The waiter gawked even more when she placed a generous tip down along with the payment for the food. Haruka had saved up her money ever since her first mission when she was 13, so she had plenty of money.

With one bun still in hand, she left Savory Lane and wandered around the many shops with colorful and festive clothes instead. Maybe a kimono would do the trick of making her actually look like a girl?
Double posting because I have to.

Here's my character. You are obviously welcome to do your own critique of her, if you wish to do so. I won't move her till she's been approved by at least one other player.

Five Facts about The Mad Hatter:
  • I suffer from Lepidopterophobia.
I'll save you the trip on Google and tell you that it's the irrational fear of butterflies. It's so bad that even pictures of them make me all jittery.
  • I have two kids.
Both of my kids are named after Gods of the old Norse Mythology (Freja and Balder) and my pets are all named after cartoon characters.
Freja is from October 2014 and Balder was born four months premature last December in our own little version of Nightmare Before Christmas.
  • I used to be a Punker.
With a blue mohawk and second-hand clothes made into rebellious rags. I even had some piercings, but I took 'em all out when I had kids and now I look like your plain old everyday mommy.Except that I still wear my studded belts and/or bracelets sometimes.
  • I love books.
Almost every piece of literature I can get my hands on, I'll read. The last few years it's mostly been amateur novels on FictionPress, but some of those are really good, too.
Fun Fact about my name is that the Hatter in Alice in Wonderland was never actually referred to as “The Mad Hatter”, but rather it was said that one needed to be “Mad as a Hatter”, to which he added, “Which, luckily, I am”. He could have meant either a Hatter or Mad, though. Also, Hatters actually were a bit coo-coo back when the book was written, because of the quicksilver.
  • I LOOOOOOVE Disney movies.
Like, seriously. You have no idea how great a love for the classic Disney movies I have. I wanted to be a Disney Princess when I was little. I even wrote fairytales akin to those of the Disney worlds.
As a result of this love, I also played Kingdom Hearts (though that was partly due to my love of Final Fantasy, too) and absolutely loved that, too. I have a Keyblade on my wall (Oathkeeper, if you're curious).

My own character will be up sometime within the next 24 hours, so you can wait for that and use her as a sort of reference, if you want to.
@Ryteb Pymeroce
Please take a(nother) look at the rules, then I'll review your character.

@luckofthedraw
I will give you a proper review tomorrow, but looking this over it appears fine.
@EvolvedHigher Yes it is. The OOC just went up today.
OOC is up! Go do your thing!
The news were all over the world; yet another ship had gone missing in the infamous Bermuda Triangle. The ship, called The Drudge, set out with more than 200 passengers heading fro Europe, but disappeared after just a days worth of travel, more or less in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle.
All attempts to contact the vessel has failed and the ship is now considered missing. All of the passengers' next of kin have been notified and has been told to contact their local police if they know of anything that could have influenced the sudden vanishing of an entire ship.

But the ship did not just vanish. It was lured off-course by the song of several sirens and rammed the top of an undersea mountain. With the hull damaged, the ship started taking in water and went down fast. Many of the passengers drowned. Some were, unbeknown to the others, dragged into the depths by undines, whilst others were snatched and eaten by terrifying cestea; sea monsters in the shape of serpentine fish, ranging in size from that of a small size to that of a large whale.

Few people did survive and made it to one of the nearby islands. The island does not have much vegetation. It consists mostly of rocky ground with sand washed up on the shores. The middle of the island, however, is an about two miles in diameter, thick, lush jungle where you could not possibly pass through without cutting down a branch or some vines. In the very center of the island is a clearing with a spring of pure, clean water, surrounded by decorative, white columns.
On the northernmost shore stands a white alter with algae and coral growing on the smooth surfaces.

I know this isn't the greatest piece of writing in the world, but it gets the job done. It gives the basic amount of information on the setting. I don't really want to write a whole big deal about how shit came to be or anything like that, just know that this is all planned and that your characters are going to find out the secrets of the island as they explore and discover.
I will add more information as more is revealed and if people ask for specific information that I feel I can give at the moment.

What I want, nay NEED, is dedicated players that are up for some fun times and like to keep the OOC lit as well. A wise idiot once said that an active OOC makes for a more active IC.
I care way more about the quality of your writing, than I do about the quantity. I'll be satisfied with a single paragraph, as long as that paragraph moves things along and has a “feel” of your character.

Now, there are obviously a few rules. Everyone gets one warning and if they break a rule again, they will be kicked. There is one exception, which is an instant kick.

  • No metagaming, powergaming, God-modding and whatever else in those kind of terms you can think of.
  • You can only post twice a day, unless there is two posts or more since your last post.
  • The GM will make events and they may happen to only one character:
Example: Jack suddenly started feeling sick and running a slight fever.
Example: Jane could barely remember what her mother looked like anymore.
  • I expect posts once a week and if this cannot be met, please give notice.
  • If you know you will to away or get busy, please give notice ahead of time.
  • DO NOT EVER TL;DR me or any other player; this is an instant kick for being disrespectful.
  • There is no main character; we are all equal.
  • All characters must be approved before they are moved to the Character Tab.
  • When you submit your Character Sheet, you must also write five random facts about yourself (The Player).
  • More rules may be added at any time as the GM sees fit.

I ended up playing with water balloons and eating ice cream with my daughter all day yesterday and had such a blast that I forgot all about anything else - including the fact that I needed to get my frown lawn fixed, which I then spend my evening doing, forgetting all about getting the OOC up.

It will happen today, so prepare yourselves!
