Looking to flesh out some history for my kingdom. Whose down for being a rival and a friend?

I am currently planning a petty kingdom turned city-state with strong naval tradition and center of trade, with a weak army. Also, my major import would be iron, as we lack any sources of our own. We mainly export lumber, whale-oil, hides, and pearl finery.

A rivalry between Violette and Starborn City seems natural.

They can't win, but a third party stealing significant chunks of the vote is the sort of thing party analysts pay attention to.

Is it, though? I'd bet that a majority of American voters wouldn't recognize the name Ross Perot, and he had an order of magnitude more support than the Greens and Libertarians combined. Free trade is also still supported by all mainstream candidates in both parties.

^ Yes, that would be the view of a Clinton Democrat, you're correct. With all of the Sanders supporters storming the internet, folks like yourself are really starting to stick out.

"Haha, these jokes you're all making sure are funny, haha, but you're actually gonna vote for Hillary right!?!"

I predict really high voter turnout in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election. Probably over 50%, maybe even up near 60%.
Some of the population figures for cities, especially capitals, is extraordinarily high.
The images you just posted are broken. I went to the source link, which took a fucking eon on my mobile, and Imgur told me the image had an error and couldn't be displayed.
How about this one?

I'm thinking of making a new claim and it would include a portion of that area.
Ethanjory already claimed the territory that I was originally going to have contain a reworked Aaldorenfeald, so I decided on doing something entirely new for this one. Here's the claim I have in mind.

Also as a side note, stay away from names with 'states' plural in it since technically you are a provincial state as it is within a larger nation. It would be like calling Florida the United States of Florida while it is in the Untied States of America.

I'm not sure about that. This is a world encompassing empire that is assumedly highly ethnically and culturally diverse. It would make perfect sense, both geographically because of the scale and politically because of decentralization, for the constituent states of this empire to themselves consist of a number of sub-divisions, possibly with large degrees of autonomy.

I'm somewhat interested.
